Motorola Droid :: Using "Missed Call" App / Disabling Onboard Notifications

I got Missed Call app because I liked the idea of different LED notification colors, plus some other stuff. However, when you start program it says to disable droid sms notifications (I think they mean just sms anyways), but I couldn't find that in settings. Also, not crazy about the icon it gives you in notification area, as one other poster pointed out, but I didn't know if that was partially due to having already gotten one notification from standard sms app, it's like a weird white sms icon, with a red exclamation mark, which always make me think it's some emergent notification, when it's just a standard sms. Also- LED was working at one point, but now I just get standard green, I assume this is because notifications is still enabled in Droid settings. So:
1) Is that the icon you always get, in notification area, for this app?
2) How do I disable sms notifications, or is it all notifications, and does Missed Call replace everything?
3) How's this app working for you, do you like it, is it working well?

I have literally tried everything to turn this off on my Motorola Cliq.
I went to my home screen, clicked menue, then settings.
I went to notification settings then to notification sounds. There is not a silent! I don't know how to make this sound go away!
I tried installing the "Missed Call" app, hoping that I could override the default settings on my phone, but it doesnt. Now I have two missed call notifications.

I am a new HTC user and I can't get the phone to notify keep notifying me with sound when I have missed a call. The rollerball will flash but I wanted a sound to keep alerting me. How can I do this?

Today makes it exactly one week since I upgraded to my Evo. I noticed, yesterday and today, an issue with notification. Yesterday I missed a call and noticed the led blinking but nothing in the notifications drag down window. Today I received a text message, saw the icon up top, then before opening it I received a call. Talked for a good hour on the phone and when I hung up, the led was blinking but icon was gone. Another thing I noticed from when I got the phone is I don't show any notification on the unlock screen as soon as you come out of sleep mode. Is this normal? My hero shows missed call or text on the unlock screen when you wake the phone.

1. Is there a way to get the badge notifications for when I miss a call or text? I have "MIssed call count" and "Unread SMS count" turned on and it never displays the number of missed calls/ messages
2. Is there a way to rename a folder created in this thing? When I make one, it just is called "New Folder" and I can't get it to recognize folders that I made before installing Launcher Pro.
3. I'm having trouble finding certain things, like for instance the "Active Applications" widget is not under widgets on LP - where can I find it?

Maybe I'm missing it, but (Droid X) how do I view and save missed calls? Also, if I view notifications then go home the notifications are erased. How can they be automatically saved? Are there applications?

Not sure if ne one knows about this, or even cares but I was excited so im sharing.I Froyo'd my droid using the instructions from droid-life found here: Download: Newer Motorola Droid Froyo Leak FRF57 | Droid Life: A Droid Community Blog.When I did so, my Missed Call app stopped working. However, Missed Call LED found in the market works great on my Froyo 2.2 Droid.Happy rooting everyone.

my Droid X is doing something completely unacceptable.It misses calls.There's no ring, no missed call indicator, just suddenly a voicemail indicator pops up to tell me that someone left a voice message.Sometimes it only happens once, and will receive the next call without a problem.Sometimes it'll do it three or four calls in a row.I've already talked to Verizon about it, and they've gone through the script. Before I call to yell at them until they replace the phone with one that works, I'm wondering if anyone else has any experience with the problem.

This has happened before and I fixed it, but i do not remember how.After I loaded wiped and loaded BB a weird ringtone that I don't remember having rings after a missed call.And it doesn't stop.I was walking around PetSmart today and I thought there was music coming from the shelves but it was really quiet.I was thoroughly confused until I went to the parking lot and figured out that it followed me, then deduced it was my phone.So this should be easy to turn off/silence I just can't figure it out.Anyone - you will get a "thanks" if it works.

I picked up an Eris this weekend and I'm loving it! This is my first "smartphone" so I'm pretty pumped! I recently setup a link to my Flickr account and keep getting notifications everytime one of my contacts posts something to their account (can get overwhelming quickly). I tried looking for a way in-phone and on Flickr to disable the notifications but haven't found a solution so far. Anyone have an idea on how to disable/modify Flickr notifications?

My only complaint about the Droid is the seeming lack of options for notifications.
Is there a way, or an app, that would allow you to assign different notifications to emails vs texts vs missed calls?
Also, does anyone know if there's a way to set the phone to re-notify you periodically if you have a notification that has not been looked at? I tend to leave my phone sitting on my desk at work and would like it to let me know if I missed a call or text while I was away from my desk.
Ideally I'd like to silence email notifications, but have text and missed call notifications with unique ring tones for each, and I'd like the phone to renotify me every 10 minutes or so if I have a text or missed call waiting for me.

Was a fan of this app. Used it to give me custom color LED (purple) and sound for a call that was missed. As well, for calendar services I used it to flash a custom color LED (blue) and play a sound. Essentially, you could override the system settings and pickup where it left off.Well, as of 2.2 this app is busted. The dev claims to have made a more 2.2 friendly versions.. but its busted. No more color LED selections - stock Droid green and green only - and the Calendar notifications are 100% busted. A missed notification call works in that you can get your custom sound, but only green LED (which is already the stock color for like 3-4 other notification). But like I said.. nothing for calendar.So.. anyone have any tips for replacements in 2.2.I found one - Calendar Notification - and it CAN do colored LED (I used blue) and a custom tone that broke in Missed Call. And I still use Missed Call for missed calls, but hate the green LED. Would love to find 1 app to do it all, hate having 2 apps - 1 of which is busted. and BTW, never figured out why the dev always says the gMail notification is not possible. I have used an app - and they have a 2.2 version that works perfect - called gMail Notifier.

any body else like a beep when you miss a call? thats what I'm after.I was using missed reminder but it keeps my phone at 100% awake.not sure how good that is for my battery life.does everybody just check there phone alot to see if you missed a call? LED doesnt do me much good because you cant see it when its in the phone holder.it would be nice if it worked like the email or the text message does.

Since the time I have upgraded to KitKat- I have been facing the issue of Call History. Every Time I miss a Call and I click on the name/number- Its asks me to select a default option of whoch way to open that entry , that is, through Dialer or through History. I tried selecting history and clicked on the "always use this option" but the same thing kept happening every time. After a few tries, I chose the other option and did the same thing and it again kept appearing... It looks like there's a bug in this and it never really saves my preference.

Got my android yesterday havent really played with it other than installing app killer, and checking to see if i could root(i cant :sadface and noticed on my mothers phone(same droid eris) that her notification light was blinking Green. i Checked the manual from the verizon website and all it mentions is green solid, red solid, and red blinking, nothing about Green blinking. It was not plugged in, it was not being used. I thought it was perhaps saying "hey you have a new message/email/missed call" but she had no notifications. anyone know what Blinking green means?

I am new to developing apps for android. But I am developing one now. As a part of the app I need to disable some SMS notifications. That is, when the app is running and I receive an SMS it shouldn't be displayed to the user. I need my app to intercept it before it goes to the inbox and handle accordingly. Please tell me how I have to proceed along these lines.
If I cannot intercept an SMS, is there a way to hide the notifications and notify only certain messages after reading their contents.

I'd like to know which one actually works for Motorola's Droid. I think it should've come standard with the phone, but it didn't. I really need a working app; the two I've installed (Missed Reminder and Missed Call) don't seem to work just as they're supposed to.

my phone will freeze for 10-15 seconds, then I'll get MAYBE 1 second of phone call, then it'll go to missed call. What's happening here? A similar issue that's also been happening is that I may get the call to ring normally, but then I can't push Answer on the screen so I can't pick up the call. I've updated to Froyo through the OTA update. This wasn't happening after the upgrade, just recently. I've disabled ATK to rule that out, and it's still happening after a reboot.

My old Optimus V phone had a launcher that showed the number of missed texts/calls/emails right above the shortcut in the app dock at the bottom of the screen. Is there any modern launcher that does the same thing and works on 4.x JB phones? I'm rooted and ROM'd.

Apps like "missed reminders" are great for doing multiple alerts every X number of minutes if you don't hear the first one. They work on missed calls, gmail, and sms but is there any app that can monitor alerts from other apps like twitter (touiteur) K9 email, facebook which don't do "notifications" after the initial alert. So if that's not heard you don't know till you glance at the screen. Anyone aware of a 3rd party app that does for twitter and facebook alerts what missed reminders does for SMS?

I like would like to have a clock/weather app, shortcuts to phone, camera, and messaging, battery indicator, and notifications for missed calls and texts. Another big thing for me is the ability to turn off wifi/noise/and screen brightness from the lockscreen

Getting emails, texts, and other notifications (especially the vibrations) while I am on a call is driving me nuts. Where can I turn this feature off? I don't want to turn off notifications and vibration completely; I just want the phone to realize I am busy talking to someone and don't need the sounds and vibrations distracting both parties on the call.
Am I the only one this happens to? I keep searching for others with this problem, but haven't had much luck. Is it an Android issue? 1.5 or 2.0?

Missed Call - LED notification for missed calls.Thanks to Android_Goes for his efforts however I (or at least my wife) wants thye same facility as she had on her previous phone which is a regular beep to remind her of a miss SMS or call.The flashing light is not so useful in a handbag or pocket.She travels on her job and regularly appointments are cancelled by SMS or by a call. She doesn't have nor wants hands free so she sometimes misses the calls.Is anyone able to point me at an app which beeps after a missed SMS and call?
