"I am busy right now. I will call you later." This seems like a feature that I had with my BB. If you miss a call or reject a call, you could send this text message to the caller automatically.
My question is, how do you do this on the Eris? I can't figure it out. Has anyone used this feature?

Since the 2.1 OTA, I noticed in my contacts that it shows ALL phone numbers as numbers to send messages to.Previously, message numbers were all set to just the mobile numbers. I don't see any easy way to fix this.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI use HTC Sense on my phone, the problem I have is my phone is not saving my default home settings. When I push the home button it asks me which program I want to use to complete the action (either andriod Home or HTC Sense), I always click the box indicating I want to use this option as default every time I push home but 10 minutes later when I push the home button again it asks me again which program I want to use. I have double checked in my settings and it shows HTC Sense is set as my default home setting but something just isnt right.
View 13 Replies View RelatedI have two contacts in there currently and want to get rid of them and start over. Can't figure out any way to do it. I even went into 'manage applications' and found the widget and cleared the cache and data and the dang thing still shows the same two contacts that I want to get rid of. This widget is pretty useless. Can't put in multiple instances of the same contact (like one for cell and one for home), yet you also can't seem to just set it to take you to their contact info when you click on a person - you have to choose a default.

What is the default message in the "Edit default message" used for? Right now it says "I am busy right now. I will call you later".
Also, what is the "Edit message" field for? Right now it says "Edit text message before sending". Not sure why these text message sounding settings are in Phone settings.
Before the OTA I was able to select which apllication was used when the large "phone" button was pushed on the homepage. I think what used to happen was that when you downloaded a new phone dialer and then pressed the phone button the first time you were given an option as to what app you want to use for this action. Once you chose an app it was always activated when you pressed the phone button. I don't see this happening anymore.

I haven't had any crashes or forced closes since I did this.
My phone was almost dead today so I just turned it off. When I got home and plugged it in and turned it back on I didn't have any service. It says no service. I have turned it on and off several times and have taken the battery out and put it back several times and nothing works. I have only had the phone for approximately 3 days. Anything I can do to fix it myself? I can't even pull up the phone pad or certain settings because I get an error message. I called technical support but because I can't get to the phone pad they can't help me.

Whenever I receive a message though, the sound is VERY faint and almost silent. The media volume is all the way up... Is this a phone or Handcent problem?

View 1 Replies View RelatedLast night I clicked a YouTube link sent by a friend through email. I got a notification window asking me if I wanted to open it in the browser or in the you tube App, along with a check box to always remember my answer. I picked one and hit the check box. Under the box it said if I wanted to change my settings to go to Home > Settings > Applications> Manage Applications to change the behavior.
However that specific menu item only contains apps I have downloaded. The YouTube app isn't there, and I had been coming up blank searching for where I can change the setting I chose last night.
When you go to Home > Settings > Applications> Manage Applications, by default its filter is set to just the apps you have downloaded, to see all apps on your droid, hit the menu button, and select filter, from here choose All to get to the app whose setting you want to change.
Just installed Handcent and so far Im loving it. Way better texting app then what comes stock from HTC. However I do have a question. How do I stop the HTC app from popping up with text message notifications? Right now I get both the HTC and the Handcent notification at the same time when a text comes through.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if 2.1 still had the following bugs/problems that myself, and a lot of people seem to encounter with 1.5, or if it's phone specific not OS specific.
1. Problems receiving picture messages. Specifically receiving a message saying "Message not downloaded. Retransmission scheduled for XX:XX", even if you click "Download" button multiple times.
2. When receiving a text message longer than 160 characters, you get a message saying "The preceding messages modified. Media objects removed." and the sender gets a message saying that you do not support enhanced messaging service, even though you DO actually receive the entire message. I know the Incredible doesn't have this problem, but the Eris does.
Been having some weird MMS related problems in the last couple of days. To try to resolve them i've been trying to edit the APN settings, however, i've got 4(!) APN setttings on my phone which are locked, can't be edited or deleted. I'm sure i could edit them at some point in the past, but now all of them have little padlock icons next to them.
Phone was purchased unlocked but pre-configured for vodafone uk. Am i missing something obvious or has my brain gone wrong?
Just bought one of these phones and having problems with my T-Mo data connection. I'm on the $9.99 web plan but when I try to browse a website I get forwarded to the T-Mobile web2go page saying that I need to upgrade my data plan.
Any idea how I could edit the APN settings in the behold 2 to be able to use data. I've used the MT3G in the past for a while with no issues but can't find the menu in the behold 2.
More specifically I want to edit the Settings.apk and add more options. I'm unsure what the best approach to this is. I know how to convert the classes.dex to a .jar, but this doesn't seem like the way to go about accomplishing anything. At any rate, I'm really looking for some insight into this and advanced editing such as this. Someone knows how to, care to share?
