Motorola Droid X :: Media Volume Settings Not Saved

Oct 22, 2010

Does anyone have an issue with their Media Volume being set to 0 and when you adjust it, either when in an app (YouTube, mp3 player, RingDroid) or via Settings>Sound>Volume, it still won't adjust? I can't set the volume for Media no matter how I try. It visibly shows that I raised it in Settings, but then I back out and go back in to check, it's 0 again.

When I am in RingDroid, for example, I hit the volume button, the pop up for Media Volume shows at 0, and won't let me raise it with the volume buttons same for YouTube, etc. I know previously, I've reset the phone to fix it, but this is ridiculous. I don't know what's causing it other than possibly putting my phone on vibrate while at work, but that shouldn't affect the Media Volume, just Ringer and Alerts. And before anyone suggests it, I took the phone Off vibrate mode and still get the same result.

Motorola Droid X :: Media Volume Settings - No Sound

Oct 8, 2010

I've been having a problem with my media volume setting which is causing it to stay silenced. I usually have my phone set to vibrate but I'm unable to change the media volume in any way. Ringer and notification volumes don't give me any problems. I have found that if I turn my phone off and then on again the media volume will be turned on too but it will get stuck silenced again shortly after.

HTC Desire :: Low Media Volume Settings - Music Too Loud On Headphones?

May 5, 2010

I've had the Desire for about 3 weeks now and it's a brilliant phone. However, quite often I listen to music from my Desire through my headphones to help me get to sleep. Unfortunately though, the lowest media volume setting is too loud through my headphones. It's seems to be either a choice of no music (i.e media volume turned to zero) or the next level up (which is too loud). Is there anyway to get a volume in between the two? I've tried apps such as AudioManager but to no avail

Motorola Droid :: Any Widgets For Media Volume?

Dec 22, 2009

Looking for quick and easy access to media volume. Its annoying to go into settings everytime to adjust. A nice widget would be like a switch that lets me use my volume rocker for phone and then when I hit the widget, I can use the rocker for media volume and vice versa.

Motorola Droid :: How Can I Turn Off Every Volume But Media?

Feb 21, 2010

My wife is going to pop out a mini me in about 2 weeks. She wants (desperately) to have an "all natural" birth experience. In order to deal with the pain, she is using a program called "Hypno-Babies", which consists of a series of hypno-induction preparedness CDs, and then a "Birthing" CD to listen to."You feel no pain. Your pelvis is not splitting. Your vagina is not tearing..." I'm being as supportive as possible, as I have a role in this as well, but this is our second, and I know she's going to be asking for the epi about 2 hours into it!She wants to use her Droid to listen to the CD while she is in labor. The problem is that any distraction through the Droid will have an impact on the whole thing. (If the incoming messages notification sounds like a chicken, she might come out of all this clucking!) Well, maybe not that bad, but it will screw up her concentration.I use Sound Manager on mine, but I need to make sure that there's absolutely no chance that my wife's Droid does anything other than behave like an mp3 player.

Motorola Droid :: Quick Way For Media Player Volume Control?

Dec 5, 2009

Is there a quick way to adjust the media volume without having to launch a media app? The rocker defaults to ringer, but since I like to use the voice search button a lot it is extremely irritating when the connection error bong or success bong blasts so loud. seems like those should be tied in with the ringer vol/vib control not media volume. I looked for a volume control app or widget to go with the buzzlock and ring profile icons i have unnecessarily taking up space, but i couldn't find one that looked like it fit the bill and worked on Droid.

I use HTC Sense on my phone, the problem I have is my phone is not saving my default home settings. When I push the home button it asks me which program I want to use to complete the action (either andriod Home or HTC Sense), I always click the box indicating I want to use this option as default every time I push home but 10 minutes later when I push the home button again it asks me again which program I want to use. I have double checked in my settings and it shows HTC Sense is set as my default home setting but something just isnt right.

HTC Incredible :: Volume Rocker Defaults To Media Volume

Apr 30, 2010

I don't know if it's from some app I installed or what. But I noticed recently that suddenly the volume rocker only controls the Media Volume or the In-call volume (if you're in a call), not the Ringer Volume. I don't have anything playing, so not sure why it's like that. I want it to default to ringer and I'll worry about Media when I'm actually in a program that uses it.

HTC EVO 4G :: Handcent Settings Not Saved

Jul 1, 2010

Just downloaded Handcent and the settings that I want on it are not saving. For example I want vibrate only when phone is in vibrate mode. That is not working at all. I also disabled notifications in the notification bar and I'm still getting them. Don't know if being on a custom rom (omj) would affect any of this. Pretty annoying though and was wanting to know if anyone else is having this sort of problem. I also rebooted the phone and no dice still.

HTC EVO 4G :: Customized Settings Not (Saved) Working?

Nov 15, 2010

I recently purchased an Evo and have spent the last day getting it up and running, customized etc. I have a few questions I haven't been able to find the answers to yet.

1. Following instructions to conserve battery life, I turned off the email notification light and sound, but every time I get an email it chimes and the light starts blinking. I have reset the phone after making the changed, and when I go into setting it still says the light/sound are off.

2. Similar to #1, I turned off the haptic feedback, but I am still getting it when I use the keyboard. My phone says haptic feedback is off, but when I use the keyboard in the web browser or my contacts, I get the little rumble for each keystroke

3a. Is there any non-warranty breaking way to customize what apps are opened on start up? Every time I turn my phone on I have to go in and taskiller all the sprint nascar, tv, etc crap.

3b. Clicking on taskiller throughout the day, apps I have killed always come back, even when I don't use them, don't have their widget running, etc. This happens with 3rd party apps like tweetdeck, and stuff built into the phone like "news" "music" and others. Is there a way to stop this? Does this stuff (and widgets in general) drain the battery life that much at the end of the day?

4. In the tv ads and in the store and reviews online, everyone made a big deal about Swype and how great it is. All the reviews of it was a big reason why I decided to not get the Epic since everyone was saying they never even touched the keyboard after getting the hang of Swype. Now I have my Evo and I find out that I cant get swype at all? So people suggest a different, similar app, but that one isn't available in the market any more either? What gives? I assumed swype was built into the phone in the first place. I feel a little swindled on this point

5. I have a second domain name attached to my gmail account (i.e. I started out with rift@gmail.com, then later bought rift@rift.com for work). When I am sending emails in gmail, I can choose which domain I want the FROM: field to show. Is there a way to do this on my Evo? I am using the Mail app, not the gmail one (although I could always switch?)

Sprint HTC Hero :: Adjust Media Volume Without First Playing Media?

Oct 14, 2009

I noticed that you can't adjust media volume without first playing media. Like you have to, for example, press the play button before pressing rocker volume in order to adjust media volume or else you'll just be adjusting ringer volume. This is unfortunate since games also use media volume. So if you wonna start up a quick game in a quiet setting, your in trouble if you were listening music before and never turned down/off the media volume. Unless I'm missing something and there is in fact a way to do it?

So far as I try, I could not find anything which refers it. Only Activity.setVolumeControlStream(AudioManager.STREAM_MUSIC)
to enable it in your Activity, and nothing more >_<
If someone know how to custom it, or just it's name.

General :: Xperia Play - Lost All Saved Settings And WiFi Keeps Turning Off?

Jan 31, 2013

I've been having problems with my Xperia Play. Any app involving the internet would force close after being on it for a certain amount of time, which was no big deal, I would just restart my phone. But then it started happening more frequently, and it would force close sooner, sometimes even force closing as soon as I entered the app. Then this morning, I found that my WiFi was off (which was weird because i don't turn off WiFi at home). I went into my settings to turn it back on, locked my phone, and went to do something else. When I went to check Facebook, I saw that the WiFi wasn't on. So again, I went into settings, but instead of just pushing "Turn on Wi-Fi", I went into "Wi-Fi Settings". I saw that I had lost all my saved WiFi networks (including my house), and it wasn't picking any up, even though I know that there are multiple in my area. I tried re-entering my home WiFi settings, but that still didn't work. I did a few more times, then when it still failed, I restarted my phone and tried again. Still nothing. Then I went out, and was still unable to pick up any WiFi, and any internet based apps still weren't working, even with 3G on.

Motorola Droid X :: No Saved Folder To Keep Emails

Aug 2, 2010

I just gave up my Blackberry Storm for the Motorola Droid X. I'm seriously considering taking it back. That it keeps message history in your contacts is in and of itself reason enough, but the final straw was when I just tried to save an email only to realize THERE IS NO SAVE FOLDER!If there is an app that will allow me to save an email (right now the only folders are inbox and trash) please let me know, or this crap goes back. By the way, I don't mean save an attachment. I mean save an email. On the storm if you hit save on any type of message it goes to your saved folder. Even if you delete everything in your inbox. To delete it once you've saved it you must delete it from the saved folder.

Motorola Droid :: Droid Saved Weekend / Stories From Real Life

Nov 23, 2009

Trip this weekend to a competition my son was involved in...we had to drive about 150 miles to another city, navigate between four different locations while up there, and then get back home the next day. The previous year when we'd gone to this event we had gotten lost twice and actually missed being able to watch most of one event we were so late. So the pressure was huge to avoid a similar situation this year.I set up nav shortcuts on one of my home pages to each of the four locations in the other town the night before. So in the morning we pulled out of the garage, I tapped the icon for the first destination and off we went, faultlessly directed to our hotel.

On the way there, my wife says "I'd really like to hear some music, do you have any Elton John?" (So sue her, she's a child of the 70's. ) "Nope," says I "but I think I know where we can find some." So I tell her how to fire up Slacker on the Droid and she enters "Elton John" and a few seconds later she is rocking to the sound of "Crocodile Rock" and various other artists she likes.Nav interrupted Elton et al when necessary to provide directions.Used the shortcuts the rest of the weekend to move between the four locations w/out fault. Looked up traffic a few times to decide whether to bail on a route or not.No screams of "What street do I turn on, what street!?!" from me, and no wails of "I can't tell, I can't tell - Oh the humanity!!!" from my wife. Pure wedded bliss maintained, with Slacker providing the 70's soundtrack for the our weekend montage.
