Does anyone have any ideas on when the update comes if it is going to reset our home screens and settings and all that good stuff. I came from the blackberry world where any major os upgrade meant you needed to back up your phone first before doing the update otherwise all of you stuff was gone when you were done.

On stock Eris ( well, 1.5, 2.1v1,2,3 ), non-root, is there an app or setting somewhere to have the icons on the home screens without their title?
View 8 Replies View RelatedSo oddly enough my wife's Eris does not let her long press ANY of the bottom two rows of app icons/widgets. I can long press any of the top two rows apps/widgets fine to remove or add in an empty space. but the bottom two rows I can't remove or add with a long press.anyone else have this issue? I'm trying to figure out whats new but she isn't that into her phone so she never installs stuff on it, im the one tweaking and playing with her phone and I haven't touched it in a week this started happening randomly 2 days ago.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI use HTC Sense on my phone, the problem I have is my phone is not saving my default home settings. When I push the home button it asks me which program I want to use to complete the action (either andriod Home or HTC Sense), I always click the box indicating I want to use this option as default every time I push home but 10 minutes later when I push the home button again it asks me again which program I want to use. I have double checked in my settings and it shows HTC Sense is set as my default home setting but something just isnt right.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI did a factory reset because i thought it would fix a number of problems i had before and after the 2.1 OTA.
1. HTC's weather app wouldn't update on it's own or manually (sometimes) (not a force close issue)
2. Mobile network issue. Places where i would get 3-4 bars got 1-2 (sometimes 3) and the "D" under 3G mostly changes to the up down arrow. This was on 1.5 and might have to wait maybe another day to see if this continue on 2.1.
3. apps is my main issue. I know all the apps are in the download section on the market and i saved my apps in the SD card but when I reinstalled, scores and profiles from different apps and not there. Is there a way to restore the apps to where there they where before the factory reset instead of the apps acting like it's been just downloaded.
I received the latest update a couple of days ago. I am like many on the forum that was having issues and growing very tired of this phone.
Issues I was having:
1- Blank display during a call. I have been having the issue of the phone display going blank during a call. The way it's designed to work is that when you place the phone next to your ear the display turns off to 1- save battery and 2- reduce heat. Mine was staying off which made it impossible to traverse a voice response system.
2- Lag during dialing.
3- Time without a signal. ** Retracted - This issue still exists. After rebooting multiple times the issue is back.
Fix - Reset to factory defaults. So far so good. Best the phone has been since updating from 1.5.

I had a little time with the captivate today and noticed it has 4(i think) horizontal scrolling screens for apps. What happens when you fill those? Does it automatically add another one or what?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been running the v3 leak and after the last update, the home button (after pressing it) will return the screen back to the same screen I was just on. The speaker is on all the time, until I turn it off. The next time I use the phone, the speaker is back on. Any suggestions? I have done several hard resets with no luck. The problem started right after the update, then went away after a couple of days and now is back.

Also, is there an app to backup my apps with all the data. I keep having to input my login and passwords again for Flyscreen and Lookout and I'd like to have my text messages backed up as well.
Most of my time with my new precious has been obsessing over how to arrange my screens.
Why the flip do the widgets lock into such ridiculous places!? Sometimes you could fit a whole other line of regular icons in the space that they leave!
So my question: Do any of you have OCD about how the screens are set up, and how do you set it up to work?
Two things I'd like to be able to do with my incredible.First is reduce the number of homescreens. Seven is really pointless for me, it makes finding the right screen take a little longer and there's just not enough good quality widgets that I need to use. I could do better with 5 and possibly just 3.Second is that when I'm not on a homescreen and I hit the home button, I'd like it to go back to the LAST homescreen I was on, not the center one. And if I'm already on a homescreen, once again pull up the homescreen select menu, instead of going to the center homescreen. It's a waste of a button press to always go to that center screen when pressing the home button.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI found a easy way for you non-rooted/non-Home++ to capture your screens. Download the Steamy Window app. Run it and close it right away. Go to the screen you want to print. Press and hold the Home key. Run Steamy Window. Wipe away all the steam. Hit the menu button and save the image. It seems like a lot of steps, but it is pretty quick and easy. The only thing the pic won't capture is the notification bar.

However, when I restored helix, none of my apps were restored to their appropriate home screen like it normally is. It's a pain to drag them all one by one again to where I want them. Am I missing something, or is there an app out there that will remember them next time?
View 4 Replies View RelatedOn Saturday evening, I went to look up a score and found my Droid's homescreens wiped clean. I mean nothing was there. Folders, shortcuts, widgets, all gone. Nothing but my background. I thought I hit some reset or a magic delete function. After a few minutes of befuddlement, I cycled the power. Lo and behold, everything was back. Now, I'm very patient with glitches, so I didn't really think anything about it. Until this morning, when buddy texts me having the same exact problem. I advised him to reboot. Screens came back So I'm not hearing anything about update pushes, so I've gotta ask if anyone else saw this bizarre behavior in the past 24 hours.
