Seems like every day my ring tone goes back to the Verizon default and the screen off function goes back to two minutes.What the heck is going on?

So last night I lost my end/power key function. The phone would not sleep when I hit the key, i would have to wait till it went on standby by itself. I tried some other things and realized that it was a software issue. I can hang up calles and I can bring it out of standby. it would go back into standby by hitting the key as long as I didnt unlock it. So I reinstalled 2.1. Well I got my end/power function back, but now my HTC clock/weather widget just says My Location. when I try to manually enter a city its not found. some major ones are listed but not many are not. GPS is on. Any ideas?
View 7 Replies View RelatedSo Verizon is sending my wife a new Eris due to all of the silent call, not ringing issue, and crazy echo issue during calls. She is on Leak2. When I send the phone back to them, should I put Leak V3 on the phone so that the numbers match up better, or do you guys think it will matter? Should I somehow just erase that HBOOT thing off of the phone and just send it to them all bricked? I'm trying to hide evidence of leak installation as best as possible so that they don't decide to charge me or something for the replacement. input Good news is my wife is finally getting a new phone after I jacked it up with the leak.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI bought the eris almost a month ago so my 30 day return policy is getting close. I like the eris a lot, mostly because of it's size and the senseUI, but a part of me yearns for the larger, sharper display of the moto droid. Now, I've noticed my eris is starting to chug slowly to do things like typing, changing apps and I'm not sure if it's just because I'm running a bunch of stuff at once or what, but its making me feel like I'd rather have the powerful processor of the droid as well.But, what if I get the droid and decide that I liked the eris better. Will I be stuck with the droid or can I return it and go back to the eris? I guess what I'm really looking for is an explanation of verizon's return policy and perhaps some feedback from those of you who switched from eris to droid.

Since yesterday my screen timeout it's not working correctly. Whatever I set it to, usually 30 seconds, whenever I go back to my home screen and back into the settings it is changing itself back to 10 minutes.
I've tried disabling tasker, lux and widgetlocker but I cannot get the timeout to stick on 30 seconds.
I was on my homepage when a prompt popped up. Before reading it I had selected the choice to make it my default homepage. Now the only things showing is the Google search prompt and s pull tab on the bottom of my screen to display my apps. I have tried to change scenes but it doesn't work!
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy HTC Eris' battery went dead last night. I plugged it into the charger and tried to restart it, but it won't go past the Verizon Wireless screen. I've tried removing the battery numerous times, but it still won't go past that screen. Any suggestions?

So if I browse my settings, and go 4 screens in. I want the back button to bring me to screen 3 (like it used to), and not to the home screen.

After a 30 minute car ride, it was showing mostly green. This happened once before but I figured if I ignored it, it would go away.

This gets really annoying when using apps that require such actions. Anyone else having this issue or know what I'm doing wrong. Maybe an app that's causing it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI use HTC Sense on my phone, the problem I have is my phone is not saving my default home settings. When I push the home button it asks me which program I want to use to complete the action (either andriod Home or HTC Sense), I always click the box indicating I want to use this option as default every time I push home but 10 minutes later when I push the home button again it asks me again which program I want to use. I have double checked in my settings and it shows HTC Sense is set as my default home setting but something just isnt right.
View 13 Replies View RelatedI absolutely hate the sense lock screen. The downward swipe unlocks way to easily. If I don't have a pattern lock enabled my pocket sends all kind of crazy messages and phone calls. I dislike the pattern lock because I basically have to unlock my phone twice every time I want to use it. Is there a way to load the default android lock screen as it appears on the Driod or Nexus 1? The sideways swipe seems much more secure to me. I have tried other apps like lock 2.0 but then you lose the slide to answer and my pocket answers for me before I know I have a call.

One being when I am talking on the phone and I need to hit a button how do I get my screen to turn back on? Sometimes its like the phone knows it needs to turn back on and other times I fight with it. Also the battery life is killing me but I do use it alot.
View 4 Replies View RelatedForgive me if someone else has asked this, but I searched the forum and couldn't find an answer.I understand that the proximity/light sensor turns off the screen when the Eris is next to your ear to prevent "face dailing", etc. And, I understand the screen comes back on when the sensor senses light. Ok, that works fine.BUT, what do you do if you are using the phone in the dark? When I pull the phone away, the screen will not come back on because it does not sense light. For example, trying to delete a voicemail if you're using the phone in the dark. I've tried every button to re-activate the screen, and the only one that will work is the "End" key. And that obviously ends the call.

I was trying to figure out how to delete one of those contacts from my favorites and I sent the whole screen into the remove box and deleted it (I've since figured out how to remove a singe contact). How do I get that screen back?

I want to return to the standard home screen. In addition, whenever I try to make a call the phone makes the call with my speakerphone activated. It's a Galaxy SII Skyrocket.

I cannot access the boot recovery screen and the power button that puts the device to sleep has some sort of software glitch that requirers to press the power button numerous times to wake up the screen.. Otherwise the the device works fine.. I have managed to remove the SU .apk.. The only other changes I made while it has been rooted is to remove VVM, MP3 app and cooperate calander which are still hidden.. What do you think will be the outcome of this debaucle?

Like if you press your laptop screen, its only a little bit though. If you could, please try this and report back.
View 10 Replies View RelatedAfter the update when i hit the phone icon, the "favorites" icon used to be at the bottom right after the green call tab. now there is an icon for call history.
i cannot for the life of me get it back. verizon says it was lost after the upgrade. i put the "people" icon on my now when i need to call a friend who is on my "favorite" list, i hit that icon, it brings me to all contacts and at the bottom i then have to depress favorites which brings up groups, then hit favorites. like 4 steps to make a phone call?
anybody figure out how to get the favorite icon back on the phone screen?
I just D/L Panda Home.. I love it .. Only problem is.. How do I get the Bluetooth,3GS,Wi-Fi,Gps icons back on my Home screen i cant figure it out Or is there or is there something i need to download while using Panda Home.

Every time I set my screen timeout to anything other than the default 30 seconds, it will just change itself back in a couple of minutes.
