Dec 3, 2009How do you copy files to the SD card? When I look in the Mobile Devices folder, it won't allow me to copy any files. When I click on Removable Disk, it asks for a disk.

Samsung Captivate :: Copying Music Files W/o A Memory Card
Aug 10, 2010So I plugged my new Captivate into my PC (Windows 7 64-bit) and the Captivate says it's connected, but the PC shows no signs of it being connected. I called SAmsung support, and from what I could understand of what the "tech" told me, this is a bug, and there's no way for a PC to recognize the Captivate unless there's a memory card installed. is this correct? Once a 16GB memory card is installed, do you have 64-GB of storage space you can use for music, etc?
This seems like a mammoth problem - do they have any timeframe for a fix for this? Or is the "tech" incorrect? I can't believe I just bought a brand new "Smartphone" to replace my old mobile phone and MP3 player, and I can't copy files to it. Help!
Should Samsung Kies be selected as the USB setting? That's the default.
General :: File Browser / Copy Utility That Allows Copying To SD Card?
Apr 20, 2014I am using the ES File Explorer on my HTC One M8, but it doesn't allow me to copy pictures on my SD card. Root Explorer also not. Is it because of Kitkat? Are there any other file browsers that allow copying stuff to the SD card?

Feb 3, 2010Is there a way to "refresh" the SD card after copying new files to it? Scenario: I copied some new mp3s from my network drive over wifi, but when I go into the music player, the new mp3s don't show. I have to unmount and then mount the SD card or mount the phone as a USB drive on my laptop. It's not a killer, but it would be nice to be able to force a refresh rather than digging out my USB cable or popping the back cover off the phone every time I copy new music to the SD card.

Aug 24, 2010i tried all the apps (doubletwist, isyncr etc.) but i found it to be easier just copying the music folders into my phone ; just like i do on itunes. i was just wondering if i drag a folder in to my phone when its already in there, will it copy twice? i.e i have a folder for singles that i download off sites like hotnewhiphop & when i only download one song i drag it to that folder. so will i be able to constantly drag that folder on to my phone every few days & will it only update the new songs or will it multiply every song - everytime i do this.

Jan 29, 2010I ripped my songs off cd's using windows media player, and I was just wondering why every song now plays on a loop. If I go into the music player and select by album or by artist and hit play, it just plays the one song on a loop-never advancing. I tried "play all" but it doesn't work.What im wondering is; What is the proper way to import songs? I either dragged whole albums, or selected multiple ones from my computer and dropped them into the music folder of the eris and it still plays only one song at a time. Of course I can hit the next arrow and it advances but it never does it on its own. What am I doing wrong?

Feb 4, 2010Just downloaded a file manager (two, actually - deciding which one I like best), but in accessing my SD card, I notices a bunch of folders with nothing in them. I'm wondering if this is possibly due to when I switched from my Motorola Droid, they allowed me to take that 16 gb card and put it in my Eris since I had some downloads and photos on it (and, yes, I had to buy a replacement 16 gb card for the Droid, so now I have an extra 8 gig card just laying around doing nothing). So I was wondering, does anyone else have these files? Are they safe to delete? Should I delete them or just leave them? Here is the "tree." I've indented sub folders five spaces and put in parenthesis if the folder/subfolder contains any files/info.

HTC Droid Eris :: 5gb File Wont Copy Onto SD Card
Dec 4, 2009I'm trying to transfer a 5gb file onto my Eris. The SD card is mounted, and it shows that 7gb is free. I am able to copy over a 1gb file to and from, but when I try the 5gb file, I receive the following message:The disk in the destination drive is full. Insert a new disk to continue. Retry Cancel.If I click Retry, I get the following:
Cannot copy (filename): there is not enough free disk space. What's the deal? Anyone know how to get this to work?

The music UI is choppy as can be, borderline unplayable at times, the lag is really bad. I've read other posts about faster cards improving performance on the player, but none really elaborating on the music playback.

I recently stopped using any other sms app, other than the stock, i had VR12 before, now Froydvillain 1.5 and everytime i want to save a picture from a MMS i recieve, i get the following error
"Copying attachment to SD card failed!"
Anyone have any idea what's going on ? Other than a previous mms carrier issue i had, this is the only issue i've had with this rom.

(Even though the download manager through Amazon says everything id fine)When I open my music player, I cannot find the third song. The problem is that these downloaded songs are sometimes misspelled, mislabled, the genre & other info isn't filled in at all, and or the album info is missing or incorrect.The result with a great audio player app like "3" (my favorite so far) is that I might have 35 Tom Petty songs, but because album info is missing on so many of them, the app has them dispersed among 22 different albums! Then there's the "Unknown Atrist" catagory where I'll no doubt find another stray TP song, etc.What I'm looking for is another app that gives me a GUI that allows me to edit all of the tag data for music files in my library. Apr 16, 2012I use doubletwist for listening to new music that is stored on my SD card. I use Google Music for streaming my favorite tracks that I have uploaded. The problem is Google Music automatically searches my SD card and displays all the music stored on my phone along with the artists/playlists/etc. that I have stored on the cloud, which makes it confusing when browsing the library. Can I prevent Google Music from searching and displaying what's on the SD card, but still allow doubletwist to see it?
