Alright so I'm trying to copy my music that I downloaded through an app in the play store to my computer and upload it to play music so that I can stream it to my Chrome cast but I can't figure out of to get the songs to my computer.. Do I just connect the phone to the pc then drag from the phone into a folder I make on my desktop?

View 9 Replies View Relatedi tried all the apps (doubletwist, isyncr etc.) but i found it to be easier just copying the music folders into my phone ; just like i do on itunes. i was just wondering if i drag a folder in to my phone when its already in there, will it copy twice? i.e i have a folder for singles that i download off sites like hotnewhiphop & when i only download one song i drag it to that folder. so will i be able to constantly drag that folder on to my phone every few days & will it only update the new songs or will it multiply every song - everytime i do this.

On the first phone there are some stock ringtones I like that are not on the other phone (both regular ringtones and notification ringtones). I want to copy the ones I like from the first phone and put them on the second phone. I tried looking through the folders on the first phone and can't find any ringtones. Neither of the phones are rooted.

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I plugged my new Captivate into my PC (Windows 7 64-bit) and the Captivate says it's connected, but the PC shows no signs of it being connected. I called SAmsung support, and from what I could understand of what the "tech" told me, this is a bug, and there's no way for a PC to recognize the Captivate unless there's a memory card installed. is this correct? Once a 16GB memory card is installed, do you have 64-GB of storage space you can use for music, etc?
This seems like a mammoth problem - do they have any timeframe for a fix for this? Or is the "tech" incorrect? I can't believe I just bought a brand new "Smartphone" to replace my old mobile phone and MP3 player, and I can't copy files to it. Help!

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm developing an app that backs up and restores the saves of all Angry Birds Versions. For devices with Android 1.5 or higher I've written a simple input/output file stream, and it works.
On device with Android 4.1 or higher (due probably to the increased security) the Angry Birds saves require more permissions to be copied from my app (rwx isn't enough). Is there a way to change the permission adding root access in my app or is there a solution without adding root?
What is the difference between installing an apk in the normal way, and just copying the apk to /data/app and then rebooting?
If i use the copy method, some apps work while most give FCs....
I have an Acer Iconia A500 tab, rooted. The problem is everytime I try to copy an MKV file to the SD inside my tab my windows crashes and restarts. I tried copying other files to the SD and it works like the charm, but when it comes to MKV files it crashes. Note I can copy large files into the SD just not MKV files This makes me mad for a good reason. I've tried and tried solutions, but seem to not come to a happy understanding.
P.S! I have ICS also I do not know why I can't mount my external HDD to the tab either.

This is my scenario: I've got my android tablet (the asus transformer) and I have 3 accounts set up there, 2 are gmail accounts (say, account A and account B) and a third corporate account (exchange activesync, call it account C)
I used account B when I was in my last job and have a lot of business contacts there. What I want to do is to have a simple way of copying some of these business contacts over to the exchange account (account C). I also would like to copy a couple from account A (personal stuff) into account C.
Ive been searching around to find either a gallery or an app that would show me my dropbox videos and pics in the gallery without copying them tovthe device.
I have a samsung galaxy s3 i9300 and a dropbox account. But would like to see my dropbox photos in the gallery.
Ive used foldersync from the market but that just copys the files across so not what im looking for.
Ive heard that the note 2 has this function and also htc sense.
Another thing to note is that the main reason i am reasearching this is because i am making the move to the nexus 4 so would have to work with that.

On doubletwist all my music is there, but the file is not there for that song on my computer (this is the case for about 300 songs). These songs, without the file on my computer, play perfectly fine on my phone so will I be fine to get my new phone and go home and open doubletwist and sync the music to my new phone without any problems?
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhat I'm looking to do is stream music via the Google Music app from my phone to my PC (Windows 7). I tried an app called Music Remote which lets you stream music that you're playing via the Google Music app to any other Android device that has Music Remote installed on it. You set up one device as a server, one as a client. I used Bluestacks to run the Music Remote app on my PC, set it up as a server, but I can't see it on my phone. Or vice versa.
I could just use something like Gmote but the problem is that all my music is in the cloud (I have almost none on my PC or phone), so I need something that will basically take the audio that's playing on my phone and stream it to my PC.
The only other option I can think of is to get a cheap used Android phone, hook it up to my stereo, and stream to that phone. But I'd rather not do that.
Or I could buy a Nexus Q, but that's stupid. My PC should work as a sever - same as the Nexus Q.
Basically, I want to be able to lay in bed and control my stereo via my phone (my PC is my stereo). Also, I don't want to use Bluetooth because of the sound quality issues.
I'm on a Gnex with 4.1 btw.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI just bought a 2TB Western Digital MyBook Live. For those of you who do not know what it is let me briefly explain. It is a 2TB drive that looks like any other WD MyBook. The only difference is it connects directly to your router (not to your computer) and it allows me to have my own personal cloud right here in my house.
Among other things, I put my music library on the share so I can access from wherever I am. I know that there is an app called WD2Go by WD, and this allows me to access/play my music, but I do not like the format.
I also do NOT want to upload my music to Google Music in order to have it stream to my device.
I want to know if there is a way or an app, to stream my music directly from my own source right to my phone.
I have my primary android phone (Nexus 4) and an old android phone (MyTouch 4g). I would like to set up an "AirPlay" like system on a nice (but outdated) stereo system using DLNA. I was thinking about doing this by using my primary phone as the Digital Media Server (DMS), and my old android phone as the Digital Media Player (DMP).

The primary phone - DMS, would be used to send the music to the old phone - DMP, which would then output the music via 3.5mm jack into the aux on my stereo. The only downfall I can think of to this setup would be the fact that I would have to dedicate a phone to the stereo, but that's not a problem because I don't use it anyway!
i have a kyocera hydro. i took my 8gb sd card from my old phone, deleted a few things from it that i didnt see a use in having on there (don't ask me what exactly, i dont remember now), and tried to simply put my pictures and music back onto the sd card to have in the hydro.
the folders listed on the card are as follows: .android_secure, Android, fastnote, LOST.DIR, and smvvm. the phone wont recognize my photos or music. i tried putting the music files in numerous places on the card to see if they'd be found, to no avail. i'm not sure if i deleted something i need on there, if i can get that back if that's the case.
I have used winamp, mediaGO, a couple of Android PC suites and the basic copy and paste my files directly into the phone.

I got this phone about a month ago, I put 3 albums off of my music library onto the phone and no error appeared, I then got myself a new micro SD card and then realized that ICS had been released for my phone. After the update I was unable to sync music to my phone
