I'm running the 2.1 leak and so far it has been flawless. My battery life has improved, however today something odd is happening. I am getting constant updates from my gmail saying I have a new email, when my inbox is the same. Do I need to reflash? I'm using one of the original patched versions.

I got tired of the issues with the stock rom (random calls I did not make, phone lockups, battery issues) 2.1 with recovery and root, so I decided last night to reflash it with stock and use the radioactive froyo firmware 1.7.1 from SDX. Everything was fine last night. This morning I've had it lock up on me 3 times. Every time it happens after I hit the end button to turn off the screen. The screen doesn't come back up. I just want a working phone.

I don't have a droid eris, i have a my touch 3g with a ported 2.1 Eris rom. As far as I know the changes are minimal so hopefully you guys can help me. In a nutshell, the phone is constantly syncing with something. It still happens when I Taskill mostly everything, and i tried to use Droidwall to work out what it was but my results were a bit stuffy, i couldn't accurately determine what it was. Facebook perhaps? i have it set to sync every 8 hours. So basically what iam asking is does anyone know what it could be and how I may sort it out? Failing that, does anyone know of an app that will tell me exactly what's using the connection at the time?

In applications, manage applications, I've uninstalled it but it's still there saying installing. What do I do now? I don't want to do a factory reset. Had to do it once and that was enough.

It only ever gets to the silver htc on the black screen then it goes completely black and then goes back to the red smear for verison and the little droids then over again. I've already taken out the battery and tried again but no help.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMany times it seems I will get notification that an app (such as chompsms or twidroyd) has updates just a day or two after I just updated that app because I rec'd a notification. I know you can check the version number and some apps even tell you what is being updated, but I never know what the latest build number is anyway so I always just push update anyway. So, I guess my question is, when I receive these notifications on consecutive days like that are they really just the same update and does it hurt to dl the update if you already have?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI've kind of made a similar post about this before. I keep having this issue where ill be txting someone and all of a sudden ill get constant force closes on my messaging app followed by it then losing all my threaded txts.
I'm using the native app with sms pop up and a sms widget that just makes my icon look like the eclair version.
I also sometimes have an issue where ill be txting, get a force close error and it will delete whatever txt I just received without being able to read it...
I have to tell it to refresh in order to have it check for new mail and it never updates my gmail inbox on the PC. I was wondering what settings are needed to get it to do these two things (if possible)?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm using a galaxy nexus with the newest version of jelly bean. For the past couple weeks, ive been experiencing a constant barrage of gmail sign in failed error messages.
I am able to login to gmail using the gmail application, as well as the generic email application. in the google account settings, it is able to be synced, and manually syncing doesn't prompt the error message.
I googled this issue and came across a couple solutions - changing my password using the chrome mobile browser, clearing the cache, etc, but nothing seems to work.
Its getting fairly frustrating having this notification pop up every few minutes or so.
Haven't heard anything lately about the 2.0 update.anybody heard anything about it?is it possible we aren't getting it? any other updates in the works?
View 3 Replies View RelatedThis morning when I turned on my Eris, I received a notice that I had 2 new updates! I was excited because I thought it might be Android 2.1. Hearing that updates can take a lot of battery power, I decided to use Advanced Task Killer to kill all unnecessary tasks before installing the updates. I opened ATK, killed the selected tasks, and boom!, the updates disappeared! I manually checked for updates under Settings, but it says my phone is up to date. I called Verizon and they said if Settings doesn't show any updates, they must have installed automatically. I don't buy that. Updates are supposed to take several minutes and I checked Settings right after the update notification disappeared. So unless they installed in a matter of seconds, something is wrong.

There are certain words that constantly show up in Swype, even though I have deleted them countless times. "i'd" is a big one. I would never type the word "I" and leave it uncapitalized, and, yet, it somehow keeps reappearing in the dictionary. Certain letter combinations like "nt," "ou," and others continue to show up, even after I've deleted them. That's what has me thinking it's pulling words from something else on the phone. Is there any way to make it stop doing that?

After that, the notificaton area said I have four updates waiting.I think I selected the "My Tracks" app for update, but when I did, it told me to make sure I had at least 40% battery charge, the phone would be unusable during the update, etc., and it proceeded to install the OTA update to build 1.17.605.1.That's fine, but now the phone doesn't show any apps with available updates.Will these apps automatically notify me again that updates are available? Under the People 'app,' there is an updates and events tab. I am a bit OCD, and will clear notifications after I view them. However, facebook has about 7-8 notifications that are "stuck." A few say multiple updates and others say uploaded new pictures. I have viewed each of the notifications many times at this point and they still will not clear. Does anyone know how to clear the Updates section on the Updates and Events? I do have the facebook app installed and I am willing to remove it to make this go away.

Anyway, does anyone know if PPC would get the updates as well, since they use VZW's network? I'm guessing no, they would have to set up their own distribution, but don't really know. First off, sorry if this has been posted. I searched all over and couldn't find it so if it is, no need to answer. Just point me in the right direction please. Ok - New to rooting- Sick of waiting for 2.1 ota and wanted to wireless tether, and OC. I rooted and installed the newest smoked glass rom 6.0.1 and accidentally removed some apps I didnt want removed. IE youtube. I heave searched about how to restore youtube and I do know how to do it and start over. Is there a way to get youtube back and keep my customized homescreens and new apps? I have searched here and droidforums.net but most posts say "just reflash." Anyone have a little more specifics? I just dont want to lose all my paid apps and customization time.
