New Mexico is a hands free state. My BT headset is dead, (poor jawbone), so I wanted to pickup a wired headset for my Eris. I've been doing some googling but am not coming up with much. I checked Verizon accessories webpage and am not thrilled with any offerings that I see from them...

Went for a jog this morning and had earphones plugged in, when I finished jogging I removed the earphones and the phone still says they are plugged in. No rain or moisture involved. I have pulled the battery and restarted with no improvement. Any ideas or suggestions?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have had my Eris for about three weeks now and noticed three dead pixels at the top where the signal is meter is. They are pretty much hidden all the time unless the phone is on a black screen. I've also noticed a few dust particles sitting in the lower right hand corner of the screen. Anyone else getting dead pixels or dust under their screen? Small issues, but irritating knowing they're there.
Will Verizon swap it out for a new handset? When i first upgraded I got the Motorola droid, but returned it for the eris. Will that be an issue if they swap out the phone, as I've already exchanged it once?
I am new to this forum and just got my Eris today and yes the battery is almost dead. I paired the phone with my car today (a Prius) and it worked fine. However, for the life of me, I couldn't figure out how to unpair the BT. With my old phone, the BT would shut itself off after the car was off and I would walk a few yards away. I couldn't figure out how to shut it off. I have learned a lot from all of you over the last few days.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI plugged my Eris into a two way audio jack to play music through a friend's car stereo, but when I removed the jack, it went into headset mode and I have no idea how to get rid of it. I don't own a headset and as such, cannot talk to or hear anyone I call or who is calling me now. I have scoured the net for answers but the only thing I found was an outdated app that will not work on the phone. Is there anyway to get my phone off headset mode. A toggle widget that works for the newest version of the os? Anything? Anyone

View 3 Replies View RelatedToday I plugged my phone into my car stereo to listen to pandora.When I unplugged it the headphone icon turned into a headset icon.I have no headset and now it's stuck in headset mode.I cannot hear anyone who calls me, or talk to them.I did a quick search for this problem and found some response that suggested it had to do with the hearing aid function in call setting, but when I went into call setting, the hearing aid option was turned off. I've tried powering down and restarting but that did nothing.I'm running a rooted version of 2.1, i don't remember which one but it based on the last leaked version of 2.1.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just got the 2.1 OTA yesterday morning. I was one 1.5 and it loaded up without issue. A couple of quirky things to work out, but then again, there are so many more setting and functionality with 2.1.
The update broke my existing link with my BT headset. So I went in and and set it up again. I got them to "pair" but I can't get it to "connect". Does anybody have any ideas here?
BTW, my wife has an Eris too. She's a second line on my contract. She still has not gotten the ota update yet. So it appears to be totally random who it's being pushed to.
1. Will a stereo Bluetooth headset work for listening to Pandora on the Eris? I ask because I saw one thread in which somebody said "No Bluetooth for anything other than telephone sound" on the Eris.
2. If it will work, any recommendations such a headset? I'm no audiophile, so my main issues would be comfort and battery life.
I'm planning to get a Bluetooth headset for use with my Eris. I don't really have any experience with a headset so I have a question about how it works:
I would like to leave the headset powered on and when I receive a call, either answer it from the headset or from the Eris depending on where I am/what I'm doing etc. Is this possible? Or if the headset is on will I always have to answer the call from there? I believe that I've heard that this is the way headsets work but I was hoping that I might be able to choose my answer "mode".
I picked up a bluetooth handsfree headset, is there a way to activate the voice command menu by pressing the key on the headset? (essentially eliminating dialing while driving)

However, I just looked at it and noticed that there was a single dead pixel in the top left corner. I wouldn't have even noticed it had it not been on the gray background of the top status bar the rest of my wall paper is black so it would've been easy to miss.Has anyone else experience dead pixel(s) on their new phone? I'm going to try to get it swapped out this afternoon which I think they should do. It just makes me mad that I have too.

So far, I have:
-Lowered the brightness all the way
-Taken the Sync off
-Turned off GPS/WiFi/Bluetooth
-Let battery drain all the way down and then charge it.
Still, however, my battery is draining very quickly with moderate use. In fact, when it is in standby and locked (screen off, no activity), it still drains at an incredible rate.
Is my battery fried?
I got a dead pixel, this will be #4. I am thinking about switching phones.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI noticed my phone has stopped being charged by the wall charger. Not to sure why this is. I tried several different outlets in my house and it wouldn't charge. I then used the same cable and plugged it up to my computer and it charges with no problem. My car charger cable works too. Any ideas why the wall charger would want to stop working all the sudden? Its not the cable because like I said I have it charging via my computer.

Checking battery usage, this is what I found: com.android.launcher - 46%, Beautiful Widget (just uninstalled) - 37%. I have never noticed these processes taking up so much battery. Background: I have been receiving a low storage notice so I deleted some apps, texts and pictures and plugged in for the night. The next morning the severe battery drain began. I was concerned about shorter battery life after the latest update so I have recently changed my settings to lower frequency for refreshing email, etc.
