HTC Eris :: Phone Has Dead Spot On Touch Screen
Sep 25, 2010My eris has a dead spot on the touch screen. Will Verizon know its rooted and not cover it under warranty if i have a 2.1 rom installed?

HTC EVO 4G :: White Screen Dead Touch Spot
Jul 24, 2010I'm on EVO #2 now. #1 failed after what I believe to be an overheating issue when using outside for a couple hours. So today I'm at the Red Bull Flugtag taking pics and video. Its warm(HOT)...after a couple hours I notice that I now have a dead touch spot on my screen. If you were to divide the screen into 4 quadrants...the lower left quadrant is now 100% completely unresponsive to touch. Rebooted, took the battery out, did a hard reset like Sprint advised all to no avail. I'm now on the waiting list again at BB.

What happens if you are on a long road trip and you drive through a small area (say a mile or two) where you lose service? Does Google Nav continue to work, or does it die until you get back into a service area?

Sep 19, 2010I am not a technotard but first, i cant seem to figure out how to turn my eris into a wireless hot spot. I have seen that it is possible so where do i go? Second, whats the best app for O/C. Im rooted but running a stock rom and would kinda like to leave it at that but still want a little better performance. I have removed some of the bloatware but dont know where to go from here.

Jul 1, 2013People are still sending me texts even though I can't read them. I can still hear notification sounds. I've gotta get a replacement quick, but I also need to get the important texts I missed. Is there any way I can get them through my mac?
To be clear, the screen is completely blank but I can still unlock it via touch pattern. It takes a few tries but Android File Transfer on the mac will tell me if it can or can't connect. If it can't, I just try again and I can get it. So the touch part still works, it just doesn't show any information.
The phone is a Galaxy Nexus. When I connect it to my Mac, I can see the files in it via the Android File Transfer window. However, I can't find the texts here.
I have the Android SDK installed and I was told I can do this: adb pull /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/mmssms.db..However the device shows up as offline when I do adb devices. I can't figure out a way get it showing up as online without being able to use the screen.

Jun 13, 2010So my Droid's screen recently stopped working and I'm getting an exchange with Verizon. I have to send my dead phone back once I get the new one, and am concerned about the fact that it's rooted running Froyo. I'd like to restore the nandroid backup I made of stock 2.1. Can somebody give me advice on how to do this with a dead screen? Perhaps from the command line on my computer via USB, or perhaps the key strokes to do it in nandroid so I can replicate it by feel?

I have been lurking for a while and couldn't have rooted without your guys After I rooted my Eris (Now running Non sensible 13.2 after trying tazz froyo and a few others) I now have problems with my touch screen, especially on the upper right side quadrant. Jul 17, 2010Just a quick question about the Captivate. I just got myself an HTC Aria and I love how easy it is to use the touch screen on it. Its extremely responsive. Now my sister has the SamSung Instinct on Sprint and the touch screen is horrible compared to HTCs touch on the Aria. Im thinking about taking the HTC back to AT&T and getting the Samsung Captivate. I am just worried about the touch screen on it and if it will be like the Instincts? If the touch is as good as HTCs Ill get it. If its not, then Ill stick with the Aria because despite its size, its an extremely fun and responsive phone. Any thoughts?

Jul 2, 2010I notice on my EVO that on certain parts of the screen it seems to dip and has " soft spots". It's likely to assume that all EVOS were made the same so I am wondering if anyone else has noticed this. When holding the phone in landscape mode, I feel a dipping sensation when sliding my thumb at around the top right and bottom corner of the phone, also towards the center of the screen. Or just sliding my finger around the screen or pressing/ typing. In general I can feel the soft spots.

It was not a phone issue, because I factory reset and it works now. I had to because disabling Swype did not solve the problem. Is there any beta or anything out there?I CAN'T GO BACK TO TOUCH INPUT!

Oct 19, 2010I bought a droid x, and about 5 days after, i got a red dot, about the size of a pin head (i am assuming a pixel or something) that was REALLY bright, and stayed present no matter what wallpaper i had up, or anything like that. so i exchanged it, and the same thing happened, just in a different spot on the screen and the dot was green, this one lasted almost two weeks, SO i went back in and exchanged it, and again, same issue, different location and the dot was blue. this dot was not right in the middle of the screen ever, but it was fairly close to it, and literally the size of a needle point, smaller than .7mm pencil lead, but it was REALLY bright and stood out over everything and i found it annoying and couldnt deal with it.

Sep 16, 2010After destroying my camera flash with with some app i managed to destroy also my LCD screen. I forgot to take my phone out my back pocket and sat down. Now the phone has a black spot in the middle for the LCD screen.

Oct 14, 2013I need to get data off my phone and I am trying to figure out ways to do it short of replacing the screen on it.
It is stock and has a PIN lock screen. When I try hooking it up through Kies it says I need to unlock my phone and apparently whatever steps I need to do I cannot.
I was wondering if I buy an MHL hdmi adapter if it would start mirroring as soon as I plugged it in or if I would need to enable mirroring somewhere in a menu stuck behind the lock screen which I cannot get to?
if the MHL adapter starts working immediately when plugged in (mirrors lock screen) or how to get my data off?
HTC Incredible :: Touch Screen Doesn't Respond When Phone Is Sitting Down?
Jul 15, 2010Has anyone else noticed this? With the phone laying on a table/counter/couch, the touchscreen normally doesn't respond at all. When it does, it's very glitchy, and pretty useless for anything that requires a swipe (like navigating home screens). I've tried all sorts of combinations of what finger I use, angle, and pressure, but it seems like as soon as I pick up the phone and do the same thing I was doing, it works fine. Just me or no?
