HTC Droid Eris :: Phone Stuck On Headset Mode Without Headset Plugged In.
Jun 19, 2010Went for a jog this morning and had earphones plugged in, when I finished jogging I removed the earphones and the phone still says they are plugged in. No rain or moisture involved. I have pulled the battery and restarted with no improvement. Any ideas or suggestions?

Jul 19, 2010Today I plugged my phone into my car stereo to listen to pandora.When I unplugged it the headphone icon turned into a headset icon.I have no headset and now it's stuck in headset mode.I cannot hear anyone who calls me, or talk to them.I did a quick search for this problem and found some response that suggested it had to do with the hearing aid function in call setting, but when I went into call setting, the hearing aid option was turned off. I've tried powering down and restarting but that did nothing.I'm running a rooted version of 2.1, i don't remember which one but it based on the last leaked version of 2.1.

2. If it will work, any recommendations such a headset? I'm no audiophile, so my main issues would be comfort and battery life.

May 16, 2010After the update when i hit the phone icon, the "favorites" icon used to be at the bottom right after the green call tab. now there is an icon for call history.
i cannot for the life of me get it back. verizon says it was lost after the upgrade. i put the "people" icon on my now when i need to call a friend who is on my "favorite" list, i hit that icon, it brings me to all contacts and at the bottom i then have to depress favorites which brings up groups, then hit favorites. like 4 steps to make a phone call?
anybody figure out how to get the favorite icon back on the phone screen?

Nov 19, 2010I noticed after doing a restore to Rubix 1.6 when I tried to access Settings they would not show nor was the Setting icon in my app drawer. Is this just a bad restore or is the Nandroid corrupted? I'm running DarkSlide v3 just fine right now just trying to figure out if my RubiX 1.6 nandroid is crap or not.

Jul 25, 2010Is there a setting or an app to better control what sound goes to my Bluetooth headset? I've got a Jabra Extreme, but I've not been able to find a method to have just voice go out.
Frequently I'll be in the car, and even when I have the Incredible plugged into my car stereo, it still puts music out through my Bluetooth connection and not the headphone jack. Under Bluetooth settings it says "Jabra Extreme Connected to phone and media audio", but there doesnt seem to be a way to say no no bad droid, phone only.
This seems to be the exact opposite problem all the posts I found searching had

May 8, 2009I have an I Tech Clip M bluetooth head set. It appears to pair correctly, but I don't enter the 0000 code.
However, no sound seems to come from the music player. I mean it comes from the G1's speakers, but nothing though the headphones.
Tried adjusting volume on headset, nada
Is there a setting I need to set?

May 1, 2010I plugged my Eris into a two way audio jack to play music through a friend's car stereo, but when I removed the jack, it went into headset mode and I have no idea how to get rid of it. I don't own a headset and as such, cannot talk to or hear anyone I call or who is calling me now. May 15, 2010I just got the 2.1 OTA yesterday morning. I was one 1.5 and it loaded up without issue. A couple of quirky things to work out, but then again, there are so many more setting and functionality with 2.1.
The update broke my existing link with my BT headset. So I went in and and set it up again. I got them to "pair" but I can't get it to "connect". Does anybody have any ideas here?
BTW, my wife has an Eris too. She's a second line on my contract. She still has not gotten the ota update yet. So it appears to be totally random who it's being pushed to.
HTC Droid Eris : Want To Leave Headset Powered On - When I Receive A Call?
Jul 29, 2010I'm planning to get a Bluetooth headset for use with my Eris. I don't really have any experience with a headset so I have a question about how it works:
I would like to leave the headset powered on and when I receive a call, either answer it from the headset or from the Eris depending on where I am/what I'm doing etc. Is this possible? Or if the headset is on will I always have to answer the call from there? I believe that I've heard that this is the way headsets work but I was hoping that I might be able to choose my answer "mode".

Is there a setting or app that would allow me to add a "gtalk" icon to a contact so that when I select a contact I would get the option to directly "talk/chat" with them via "Gtalk"?
Currently, when I select a contact I get the following icons:
"phone or call", "edit info", and "Instant Message"
I'd like to add to that list the "Gtalk" option.

Jun 8, 2010So obviously, I need to enable Location Settings in order to get GPS ability in Google Maps. But I don't see why it needs to have an icon taking up valuable space in the status bar (as a side note, there's an icon to indicate that it's OFF, so you can't NOT have a location setting icon on there). There was no such icon on my Droid.
Is there a way to disable this icon that anyone knows of? With Wifi/3G, the battery meter, alarm clock, the time, and the bars, they take up over half of my status bar. The problem is compounded by the fact that I have a battery app that always displays the exact battery percentage on the left side (another side note; why isn't the exact percentage shown on the default battery icon?
