I am having issues.
So far, I have:
-Lowered the brightness all the way
-Taken the Sync off
-Turned off GPS/WiFi/Bluetooth
-Let battery drain all the way down and then charge it.
Still, however, my battery is draining very quickly with moderate use. In fact, when it is in standby and locked (screen off, no activity), it still drains at an incredible rate.
Is my battery fried?

For 2 days my battery has been draining quickly. This morning it is dead in less than 4 hours. I sent four texts. Checking battery usage, this is what I found: com.android.launcher - 46%, Beautiful Widget (just uninstalled) - 37%. I have never noticed these processes taking up so much battery. Background: I have been receiving a low storage notice so I deleted some apps, texts and pictures and plugged in for the night. The next morning the severe battery drain began. I was concerned about shorter battery life after the latest update so I have recently changed my settings to lower frequency for refreshing email, etc.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI just receive my milestone on Sat,was really really excited when the moment i put in the battery and press the power button and nothing happen. I could not turn the phone on, try taking out the sim card and sd card it just wouldn't turn on. So i plug in the usb cable and charge it with the power adapter(it doesn't work if i charge using my pc) and the screen came on so i thought the battery is completely drain but it jump from 5% then 20% and 60% in a few second and it just stays there. I try charging it overnight but the next day its stuck at 60% and the moment i unplug the cable the phone just went dead. There are time when i was able to boot up(only with the usb charger) but the screen will just turn off by it self a few minutes later and i wasn't able to using the phone without the charge plug in. Is my battery dead on arrival?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am new to this forum and just got my Eris today and yes the battery is almost dead. I paired the phone with my car today (a Prius) and it worked fine. However, for the life of me, I couldn't figure out how to unpair the BT. With my old phone, the BT would shut itself off after the car was off and I would walk a few yards away. I couldn't figure out how to shut it off. I have learned a lot from all of you over the last few days.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm running CM7 on my droid and when i run the battery flat, plug it in to charge it. it then boot loops for like 5 mins and works just fine.. also any OC'd kernal suggestions, right now im using one of the chevyno1 kernels but the phone still seems a bit laggy at times what are some good tips to speed this thing up a bit. and how to fix the bootloop issue?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a sprint GNex. I just started having this problem recently (but before the 4.3 update). I plug my phone in overnight and at some point in the middle of the night an error occurs that make the phone think it is off the charger and has a fully depleted battery. The battery level icon shows no charge and if I pull the phone off the charger it immediately says it has to shut down due to a low battery. However, as soon as I turn it back on it is back to normal with a full charge.

This morning, as a part of my daily routine of exploring appbrain, I installed astro and Weather Forecast&Clock Widget. I got busy with meetings and got back to my phone after 3 hrs to find it at 25% charge. Within the next few mins. it went to 0% and now dead. I didn't have time to see if the google sync was causing this....Have any of you had a problem with these two apps hogging battery ? Or thoughts on other possibilities ?
View 12 Replies View RelatedI just bought a second hand Samsung Galaxy Portal, and it's a great phone and works fine, but the battery is dead 12 hours after a full charge. I had a task killer installed at first but I removed it after reading about how it drains the battery, so I'm wondering what else it could be? I know it might just be an old battery that's lost it's will to hold charge, but what can I check on the phone before I have to splash out on a battery or take the phone back? I know it has some decent tools for monitoring battery usage so what should I be looking for?

Now, I can get atleast eight hours intill my battery needs charge again! Just a FYI guys.
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy phones battery died last night and now my phone can do almost nothing. It will turn on but I have no signal just a x and anytime I try to use almost anything I get a force close error. Everything from trying to dial a number to opening google maps. It seems like almost everything included with the phone will not work. I tried a couple of games just to check and they seem to work ok. Does anyone know how to get my phone working again or if a reset will fix this, or do I need to take it to Sprint? My phone is not rooted and has died before with no ill effects.

I plugged in the battery and started to get to know the phone. After 10 minutes or so, I got the "plug in" message. Well, by the time I got the charger cord ready, the phone had shut off. That was 18 hours ago. It's been on the AC charger since then, but the phone will not power on. I'm HOPING it's the battery.

However, I just looked at it and noticed that there was a single dead pixel in the top left corner. I wouldn't have even noticed it had it not been on the gray background of the top status bar the rest of my wall paper is black so it would've been easy to miss.Has anyone else experience dead pixel(s) on their new phone? I'm going to try to get it swapped out this afternoon which I think they should do. It just makes me mad that I have too.

An hour later my phone shuts off and wouldn't power back on. Red led was blinking for about five minutes then the phone powered itself back on. I checked osmonitor and it showed my battery at 0% and battery temp at 140f. Will the battery not charge if your using this phone or is my charger bad?

I then used the same cable and plugged it up to my computer and it charges with no problem. My car charger cable works too. Any ideas why the wall charger would want to stop working all the sudden? Its not the cable because like I said I have it charging via my computer.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI haven't been getting very good battery life (less than one day with VERY minimal actual use). I installed Android System Info and went to DashBoard, then Battery, then History. If I select "Other usage" and "Since last unplugged" it shows "Running" as 100%. When I click on the "Running" bar it says "Time spent without sleeping: 14h 43m 15s (100%)". So it looks like it hasn't gone to sleep at all since I unplugged it.
7 of those 14+ hours was spent sitting on my desk at work and 90% or more of the rest of the time was spent either in my jacket pocket or sitting on the table at home. I spent maybe 30 mins reading texts and browsing the market and didn't do anything else with the phone all day.
Should it not have gone to sleep for at least some of that time? Could this be why the battery is pretty much dead by the end of the day? Is there a way to figure out why it's not going to sleep at all?
I have HTC desire and find my battery life from fully charged to dead is between 4 hours to 6 hours.
Is anybody else having this problem or do you think the battery is faulty ?
I've only had the phone 4 months and find it annoying that i have to turn phone off to save battery. What's point having it as a phone if you have to turn it off..

Is the phone SIM registered in T-Mobile as the Correct phone? android market app is missing too, so I cannot reload the apps. The browser is working fine, videos are streaming, calls are OK, bluetooth. No google maps also.

View 49 Replies View Relatednote: this is an artist rendition because my digital camera is terrible and i couldn't figure out how to get the dust in the shot. but it looks just like this. it's a black speck under the screen that can only be seen on bright surfaces and only if you are looking at the screen head on. i'm not sure if it might be a dead pixel. i can certainly live with this problem although i'd prefer if it wasn't there.

I rooted my phone.No problem with that.The phone was dropped and will not power on.It is still under warranty.Will Motorola be able to tell that it was rooted and void my warranty if I return it? Would it be better to make insurance claim?
