HTC Droid Eris :: Can Buy An Eris On EBay And Use It On VZW?
Jan 23, 2010I want an Eris now to hold me over until something better is released, but I hate to burn up my NE2 for it. I am looking at buying a used on (ebay, Craigslist, etc...) and I would like to know if this will be able to be activated on my current account.Is this a problem? Any suggestions or anything to avoid?

Feb 3, 2010There have been many wondering about the durability of the screen of the Eris. Does it need a screen protector? Is it easily scratched? Is it anything like the 'Gorilla Glass' that is used on the Droid?
The answers to these questions are yet unknown to most of us. We know the Droid's screen is impressively resistant, and that we like screen protectors.
After weeks of my Eris being naked (took off the screen protector and case), I began to worry, and think to myself, One of these times, I'm gonna scratch my screen. I know it.

I'm annoyed with the constant finger prints whipping, so I'd imagine that anti-glare would be the preferred choice. Then again I don't know what the contrast will look like afterward. Also when I go to type something it will move my placing backwards so I'm typing in between words that I've already started typing. I've tried rebooting several times. Dec 1, 2009I apparently deleted all of the screens somehow and what I'm currently using is a $2.99 application I believe called DXHome or something to that effect. It's not too bad is a diamond shaped key @ the bottom and basically only has 4 screens instead of 7.

Feb 16, 2010I just got my droid eris last night, and i love it! This is the first smart phone i've ever had, so i'm still learning about it.
I was really sad when i saw the quality of the photos that i took. Heres one.
I looked around on the forums before posting, and the issues i found similar to mine were on different phones, but i tried them anyways. Those threads suggested adjusting the flicker and Iso settings. messed with both, and there really wasn't a difference. I don't have the little plastic film on it either lol

Jan 21, 2010So my wife just tells me (5 days after the last day I have to return my phone) that lately the sound quality when I call her is terrible. She has trouble hearing me and mainly hears a bunch of background noise while my voice is kind of faint. My signal strength doesn't seem to make much of a difference. On my end calls sound great. Just trying to see if anyone else has had any complaints. She claims it was better before. Not sure what's going on but I'd hate to think this phone sounds terrible to the people I am calling.

Jan 20, 2010Am I the only one who thinks the sound quality of the Eris SUCKS? No matter what player I use (stock player, TuneWiki, MixZing, DroidLive, Last, LastFM, Pandora (to a slightly lesser degree)), music comes out incredibly muddled, like I'm listening through pillows over my ears. True of any of 5 pairs of headphones I use (and I'm not about to go out and buy $100 headphones), including through my car adapter.

I keep my eris pretty clean (very mild task killer use.... if at all, focusing on apps I added and quit using hours ago) and don't have much running at once, so i don't think its a lag issue. i am usually in pretty high 3g signal areas, so i don't think its a connection issue either.... i dont notice the problem on my pc....

Feb 25, 2010So oddly enough my wife's Eris does not let her long press ANY of the bottom two rows of app icons/widgets. I can long press any of the top two rows apps/widgets fine to remove or add in an empty space. but the bottom two rows I can't remove or add with a long press.anyone else have this issue? I'm trying to figure out whats new but she isn't that into her phone so she never installs stuff on it, im the one tweaking and playing with her phone and I haven't touched it in a week this started happening randomly 2 days ago.

Everything sounds more clear and detailed than it used to, and even my girlfriend said that she can hear me more clearly than before. I have tried using super high-res as well as PNGs instead of JPGs but it looks like crap when I save it. Is there anyway to make it so it doesn't downgrade the quality of my photos when I set them for my lock screen?
