Is it possible to show only mobile phone numbers in the messaging contacts section. I seem to get multiple versions of the same contact showing up depending on how much info I have for them - 1 for mobile, 1 for landline, 1 for email, but in the phonebook section, all this info shows up under 1 contact.

I just updated my ROM from Virtuous 2.6 to Virtuous 2.7. Ever since, my Facebook contact pics for almost all my people will not show up in the Messaging app, including my own pic. The pictures show up find under People (HTC's contacts), but won't show up in Messaging.

I save all my contacts to Google, so they are backed up automatically on Google's servers. However, when I go to People > View - it says Phone (13) when I don't have any contacts saved to my phone. Even when I only have Phone (13) ticked, it doesn't display anything. Why is this?

We are successful if /dev/graphics/fb0 is available. But some android devices have fb0 and fb1(ex - Samsung Galaxy Grand - GT- I9082, Android version 4.2.2). luckly sending fb0 frames is sufficient to get required frames. We are not able to understand why fb1 exist and what is significance of the fb1. We also found few mobiles have fb0, fb1, ... , fb13. How to find which is main framebuffer?

Recently i got 2 android phones by samsung. One is Samsung Galaxy i5801 Apolo and the other Samsung i5500(Galaxy 5).

I got this phone yesterday. My friend also recently got this phone. We both have the same problem. Basically if we receive a message, we can read it. Close it and the home screen still shows a "1" on it as though we haven't read it. How do we set it so that once a message is read, its closed.

It seems anyone who I have as a friend on there is showing up in my contacts list, sometimes several times.It makes selecting a contact to send a text to a right mission. If I receive a SMS from Person 1, it shows up in the messaging app, if I reply to it, it orders the messages in a weird order.
EXAMPLE:
"Message received."
Person1: "BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH"
then I reply, after the reply is sent ...it shows up like this..
ME: "REPLY TO BLAH BLAH BLAH"
Person 1 : "BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH"
isn't it supposed to be ME after the PERSON1 and not before.
When I try to send a picture message it just aomes up 'Pending' unless I send it to mysel!. I've phoned T Mobile and they don't seem to have an answer. Has anyone come across this problem or have a solution.

But there is one thing that is bugging me.
When opening messaging and viewing a message and then pressing the HOME button. And after wards launching the messaging app again it defaults to showing me the last sms I have seen.
So I would like that whenever I launch messaging it would always start in the view all messages.
The only solution I have found thus far is by using a task killer. Which would auto kill 'messages' when not in use.
So I installed Advanced Task Killer and set it to kill messaging when the screen is OFF. But it just does not work.
Is there any way to turn off T-mobiles frigging splash screens without rooting the phone. They are way too loud!
View 15 Replies View RelatedI've been using the Desire with Froyo for quite some time and have 2 problems with it:
1) When I go to people and press send message, the phone instead of composing a message my phone starts dialing that number.
2) In my Favorites even though I have selected a primary number to dial, the phone keeps calling a different one on the list which was set a long time ago.
On my Desire i have chompsms and the stock message app installed. When i receive a text it notifies me 2 times and opens up the message in the both apps. Is there anyway to uninstall the stock messaging app that comes with the desire?

Other than checking the numbers against my contacts or by the content I've no idea who's sending me messages.
Whats the scoop behind which one is really better? The stock messaging app or aftermarket apps (handcent and chomp). I use Handcent, and lately I have been finding it to be quite laggy and slow, even with cache cleared and all threads deleted. Is the only difference between stock and aftermarket, the fact that you can customize? I would much rather have a plain looking stock app that performs well, then a customizable aftermarket app that is slow. I am just looking for some opinions.
