I have trimmed a few mp3s to be used as ringtones.. But I've unintentionally made a lot more copies than I need, and now they all show up in the ringtones select list.
Where are they stored? Can I remove them manually?

I like to trim my songs I have with the stock music player. The only problem is that it seems like every time I turn my phone off, and then back on, the ringtones are gone. The full length songs are still they because they are on my sd card, but the trimmed version is gone and I have to recut it. Does anyone know where it stores these trimmed songs and if I can move them to my sd card?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI converted a ton of songs on my Pre into ringtones. I like to get goofy with custom ringtones for people. So, when backing everything up in advance of moving from the Pre to the Evo I also saved the ringtones folder from the Pre.
I've conncted to the "drive" on the Evo via the USB cable just like I did for the Pre, and I see a Music folder, but I don't see a Ringtones folder. Is there no way to just dump all my old ringtones onto the Evo so I don't have to convert each one all over again?
I've tried ShadowRom and CM6 and love both but it's far too buggy for me right now. On SR I would have 5-6 reboots a day which I can't bear. With CM6 it's down to 1-2 reboots a day but sometimes my phone will completely cut off and not reboot at all and I won't know that it's off until I go to wake it up. I also have had voicemails and missed calls that I haven't been notified of and the missed calls won't even show up in the call log later. I only know they are missed when friends tell me they called me three times in a row with no answer. Lastly the battery life is killing me on CM6. I've never drained my 2150 battery before and everybody for the past week I've had CM6 the battery had died with display as the main cause. So I've finally decided I just need to go back to Stock 2.2 and install LauncherPro. So my question is, I know how to remove some of the crapware but what other things can I remove that are Sense related from the stock rom that won't compromise the phone in any way but that will make it run faster and smoother? Is there a tutorial for this somewhere?

View 5 Replies View RelatedThe similar threads didnt seem to hold the answers to this particular problem so here goes ive upgraded from a Bold 9000 and when tried to transfer data via Bluetooth it kept failing so i had to store all my contacts to sim and then insert sim into DHD when its done this it appears to have cut some letters of the end of some names and ont allow me to edit them to extend the names.
View 3 Replies View RelatedInitially I setup Exchange active sync, but contacts wouldn't sync and I had to use HTC sync to manually sync them. Recently, after a root/froyo upgrade, they would sync via active sync. I used the "People" app as my main contacts list.
All was working fine up until last night when I was playing around with security settings and went into the Device Administrators section. I canceled back through the screens but it still deleted my Exchange account.....I'm 99.9999% certain that I canceled that screen. Ok, no harm done, I managed to set it up again.
On syncing the Exchange active sync the first time, all of my calendar items doubled up, so I manually cleared them and manually cleared my contacts also (just to be safe).
The next Exchange active sync worked for my mail and calendar but failed for some reason for contacts. This did start syncing later, but didn't appear to do anything.
My "People" app showed no contacts. Not long later, some contacts showed up, but surprisingly, they were my family contacts. I don't know where they came from. They are not on the SIM (the SIM doesn't contain any contacts). Currently my "View" for People shows:
SIM (9) - unticked
Google (0) - ticked
Show auto Gmail contacts - ticked
Phone (0) - unticked
Facebook for HTC Sense (139) - unticked
Based on these settings, no contacts should show in People.
The "Contacts" app shows the same family contacts, but also a couple of extras that were added to the "Favourites" group.
Now the really confusing part is: the "Search People" app has ALL of my lost contacts. They also all appear when I start the "Phone".
I also added a new contact, but it didn't show in "People". It does appear in the "Search People" though. I think it may have been synced to Exchange.
So can anyone help with with finding where they are stored? They are clearly on the phone. How can I get these contacts to appear in my People app again?
waiting for TMobile to reissue their OTA update to 1.21.110.4 so wanted to install it myself. Am desperate to install it as have read in couple of places on XDA forums that it increases the media volume which is a big issue on my device (yes, yes I know some of you get blown away by yours but trust me I'm not deaf or stupid, it's just ridiculously quiet). Anyway I have managed to download a zip of the update but am confused as to what to do next.

I have tried managing this on HTC Sense, but like everyone else most of the features are not working for me. I do not however have any idea how to delete the contats off my sim or just change settings to make sure my sim contacts are not displayed in my contact list.

One BIG niggle I have is that the Google Maps App on this phone does not allow you to save 'favourites' or 'starred' places on the phone, like your home or work place if you use the phone for navigation from A to B. Title says it all really, the widget worked fine until yesterday, it hasn't been updating at all automatically, and when I try to update manually, it just loads no tweets and the time at the bottom changes to present, as if it actually done something but it doesn't.

View 4 Replies View RelatedThe HTC Desire has limited memory of around 570Mb RAM and 512Mb ROM. The MicroSD card can hold up to 32Gb. So, why can't HTC allow apps be stored in MicroSD card? If HTC/Google's concerned about piracy issues, i.e. copies of apps from microSD card to another microSD card, etc. There is one way round to this problem: They could have installed some kind of unique crypto-key within the Desire's ROM, and any apps saved to the microSD card are automatically encrypted on-the-fly with this crypto-key.
When apps are accessed, it is decrypted on-the-fly, too. In other words, apps will ONLY work with THAT phone it shares the SAME crypto-key. Putting a microSD card containing apps into another Android phone will not work, thus solving the piracy issue. Therefore, a message to HTC: Please allow apps to microSD card (as much as 32Gb card) and BEAT iPhone/Nokia N900 at their game!
I have created a new group to add some contacts, However when I try to add a contact there is nobody in the list. I have contacts but there stored on SIM. How do I get them to show up?

The order of the messages stored is not as it should be...my sent message(First sent) is stored after the received one(later received)..I have tried putting my own time instead of the automatic network time still the problem continues..

View 2 Replies View RelatedNew here. Be gentle with me. I've just got a Desire on O2 (it's lovely) but I'm having problems getting my own mp3 files to be ringtones. I've followed all of the different instructions on here about which folders to store them in but it just won't work! If I browse to one of the files with Astro and long press on the file, a menu appears. Under Music Options, the Play and Set As Ringtone functions are not available. The files are currently on the SD card under mediaaudio ingtones. I have tried setting the files as ringtones under the Personalize option as well as the Notifications and Phone Ringtone options.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have owned my HTC Desire now for two weeks and can download apps and games from the Android market with no problems, but when I try and download a ringtone or mp3 song from any ringtone application I just get a instant "ringtone download failed" message and nothing happens. I belive this could be a setting stopping music / ringtone downloads. I have tried four different ringtone apps and it happens on all of them.
