View 4 RepliesI realize you can change them to numerous default sounds, but I was trying to figure out how to change it to an actual song downloaded. I've done this on my blackberry, and I know there has to be an option, but I'm just missing it. Can anyone help?
View 12 Replies View RelatedI always create calendar appointments with an alarm. A few days ago I went to Settings/Sound and Display/Notification Ring tone and set it to "on time". Maybe a day or two later I created my own notification ring tone and set it in settings. The ring tone works fine in Astrid and Nudist. However, the calendar notifications still use the "on time" ring tone. I even tried changing the notification ring tone to "tweeters" but calendar still uses "on time", even after multiple reboots.

View 1 Replies View RelatedOf all the things I've seen everyone talk about, this one has yet to come up. How can I add ringtones? And change the sound used in the alarm clock?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have tried changing them but it comes up with the standard ringtones and I haven't got a choice to pick an Mp3 song as the new ringtone or message alert.
View 4 Replies View RelatedNew here. Be gentle with me. I've just got a Desire on O2 (it's lovely) but I'm having problems getting my own mp3 files to be ringtones. I've followed all of the different instructions on here about which folders to store them in but it just won't work! If I browse to one of the files with Astro and long press on the file, a menu appears. Under Music Options, the Play and Set As Ringtone functions are not available. The files are currently on the SD card under mediaaudio ingtones. I have tried setting the files as ringtones under the Personalize option as well as the Notifications and Phone Ringtone options.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have owned my HTC Desire now for two weeks and can download apps and games from the Android market with no problems, but when I try and download a ringtone or mp3 song from any ringtone application I just get a instant "ringtone download failed" message and nothing happens. I belive this could be a setting stopping music / ringtone downloads. I have tried four different ringtone apps and it happens on all of them.

View 4 Replies View RelatedNewbie Android user, having a problem using different ringtones for each contact. Everytime a person calls, it uses the default ringtone for them. I've set up a few of my contacts with different ringtones, and i'm pretty sure I ain't done it wrong (People>Contact Name>Ringtone>xxxx)For some reason whenever someone calls me, it always plays the default tune!
View 3 Replies View RelatedI accidentally set one of the MP3s which came on the phone as my ringtone. This now continually shows up in my ringtones list, despite no longer being my ringtone. If it was an MP3 I had imported to the ringtones folder on my SD card, I assume I could delete the file from the folder and it would no longer show up on the phone's ringtone list? However, I don't seem to be able to remove this MP3 from my ringtone list on the phone. It shows up on my PC when I connect my Desire via USB, but it's in the MP3 folder and not the ringtone folder. It's not a huge deal, but I'm trying to work out a way of removing it from my ringtone list!
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy ringtone seems to have reset itself to something I haven't choosen. I have trouble hearing high pitch sounds so this is important. I need a ringtone that I will notice.
I go to sound & display and when I hit "Phone Ringtone" the only options are OK or Cancel.
Same result using the "personalize" setting. Where did my ringtones go? I do not want to reset to factory and loose the few settings I have.
I recently noticed my phone has not been going off when it should. I checked my settings and noticed all the ringtones were no longer listed when selecting a ringtone/alarm/notification. Using a file browser I was able to located all the missing ringtones, under /system/media/audio. This may be relevant, my phone recently was low on data and i had uninstalled some programs, although none of which as far as im aware, has anything to do with the ring tones.
View 1 Replies View Relatedi just got my desire z the other day.ive assigned a couple of ringtones i downloaded to some contacts however when they ring its the default tone plays for all other contacts that plays.when i view that contact it says that the tone that should play is the one ive assigned.
View 2 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know where I could download the ringtones and notifications that are pre-installed on the HTC Desire? I have somehow managed to delete them off mine. I honestly don't know exactly how or when it was that I managed to do it, but I assume it must have been during the last couple of days when it was connected to my PC - I must have just deleted a folder by mistake. Schoolboy stuff really! If there is no way of getting the original HTC sounds back, does anyone know of a free/non-subscription service where I could source some alternatives? I just want a standard "ring ring" & "beep" rather than some sort of crazy frog shenanigans.
View 1 Replies View RelatedJust gotten my htc desire and trying to assign different ringtones for different contacts initially this looks easy as i follow direction then type in select contact and when i do put name in (as it is shown in my people app) then it does not recognize ANYONE!!! Can anyone help me please as this is driving me mad!
View 3 Replies View RelatedHow can I stop personal ringtones (like custom message tones etc) to stop appearing as a song in my song list, as they are considerably louder than a song and when they come blaring through my car stereo (bluetooth) its rather annoying.I use TuneWiki because the standard player will not accept my car stereo' skip forwards button, it sort of fast forwards, which is a bit crap, but oh well

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've just purchased my new Desire HD which is my 1st Android phone. The ringtones and mesaage alerts are really quiet, is there a way round this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy Desire is changing the ringtones I've set to seemingly random mp3's stored on the phone. I reset all my ringtones last night (for Calls, twitter notification noise, sms alert noise and reminder noise). But this morning they are all set to different mp3's. Ruling out that someone stuck into my room overnight and manually changed them all.
View 14 Replies View Relatedaccording to the Sticky I should have three different folders for ringtones, notifications and alarms. I only have the notification one. Only got the Desire model today. Have I missed something?
View 1 Replies View Relatedso I was clearing up some room for a new app and went through managing apps and deleting some and clearing some caches. And now, I can't select any of the normal ringtones on the phone for my notification sounds. When I go Personalize > Default ringtone > select ringtone. It comes up saying 'Phone Ringtone' With options of OK and Cancel. It gives me no choice of any of the old normal tones the phone had before....what the hell is going on. Same for text noises btw.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to send music files, ringtones etc via bluetooth to and from the desire? I tried sending a picture from another phone to my handset (desire) and it received okay but when i tried sending a music file, it said sending and receiving but never came through, not even 1% of it.. but screen stayed on receiving part for ages before i got fed up and cut off.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have trimmed a few mp3s to be used as ringtones.. But I've unintentionally made a lot more copies than I need, and now they all show up in the ringtones select list.
Where are they stored? Can I remove them manually?
The reason I KNOW its not me changing these ringtones in all of the assignable designations for media files to be played for the ringtones and such is that I have not a single of my music files within any of these settings as an option to assign in the first place. They are showing up randomly. This morning I awoke to Rock n Roll by Led Zeppelin, and earlier today a friend called my whose ringtone was changed to 99 Red Balloons.
Let me reitterate; I have never assingned a music track as a ringtone, alarm, or notification. The previous ringtone still exists in my library and is functional IE; i can reassign the same ringtone to a person again. I THINK that only ringtones which are NOT DEFAULT are changing. What is going on here? I have lookout AVP app loaded and running at all times.List on my runnng apps on EVO:

I do have an abundance of navigation (gps, turn by turn, ect), some news, a widget for quick settings (wifi, bluetooth, ringer on/off, gps), Music (shazam, pandora tunee music, The house FM christian radio) Astro file manager, Emulators, facebook integration.I have noticed some coming on by themselves. Ill try to note when I have done nothing to activate them.
I am enjoying my new phone but having trouble finding apps with up to date mp3 music/ringtones on and could someone explain how i save mp3 tracks/ringtones to my memory card.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have Nonsensikal ROM installed on this Eris and occasionally make my own mp3 ringtones. But they never show up in the default list of available ringtones. Is this by Eris design?I know how to add a custom ringtone but was just curious as to why I cant include it in the default listing area rather than having to go to my music gallery.

View 8 Replies View RelatedHas everyone seen that you can change the LCD density on the Desire? (Well, on all Android handsets really). It simulates a higher resolution, fits more text on screen etc. There's an app on the market which does it, although it won't work on the Desire unless you're S-OFF. All you need to do is extract the build.prop file from /system to your PC (in recovery, use ADB PULL), and using a text editor change the value of LCD Density from original 240 to 200, then ADB push it back and reboot. I'm *really* pleased with the result. Combined with Launcher Pro I've a whole new feel to my phone...
