WAP push message comes everyday.
And Tel No. and Website does not exist.
My career does not support desire's push message.
I want to stop to get push message.
Anyone know how to stop ?

I keep receiving a message from one of two numbers that i don't know. They always say KEEP THIS MESSAGE and then gives a IMEI number which is always the same. I don't want to reply to it and i just delete it but it is getting annoying now. Have installed Lookout but says my phone is clean.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhenever I receive a text message while on an active call, it plays the message tone at full volume - making it rather hard to hear the other person! Granted, this only happens occasionally ... but when it does it can be quite annoying. I've searched other threads and had a (what I consider to be ) a thorough look through the phones' settings, but I can't seem to find a way to stop it. Is this just an omission on the developers behalf? Or is there something I could change?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a strange problem with Push email on my HTC Desire. I can set this up no problem - email comes in but only manually. I cannot get the push to actually work. When I go into the send receive schedule I can set up the days/hours for peak off peak and push but regardless of what I set these to be, when I go back to the previous screen it always says the Schedule is Manual. I've tried setting up lots of variations from manual through timed to push but still the same. Net result is push never seems to happen - manual overrides my schedule. To pick up email I have to go into email and do a manual sync.

View 3 Replies View RelatedEver since upgrading to custom roms a few months ago, I seem to be susceptible to WAP Push Messages.
These are like text messages but the icon is a little globe with a download arrow and a 'W'. Its basically a text containing a web link. "He Me In My Teen Bedroom! Free" was the last message I got, but without the censorship.
There seems to be no option other than to delete the message, go to the web link or view the message details. (Phone number, time of day it arrived etc.)Does anyone know how to stop these annoying messages?
For some reason, ever since I upgraded my HTC Hero to the latest Rom today, I have received two message tones and notifications for every text message I receive. I don't know why this has started happening as no new apps have been installed apart from those that were erased during the upgrade.

They are trying to push an OTA update that is trying to install which the vibrant to disable tehering again and the phone gives me 24 hours each time I delay the install. How do we stop the installation for good or can it be done on a non rooted phone at all?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI've been having a problem with my desire home screen (in particular the sms icon) and I'm wondering if anyone else knows how to fix it.
Recently my messages icon has been showing the little "1" in a green circle indicating I have an unread message. Problem is, I've gone through every list of messages I have on the device and there are no messages I haven't read and the "1" stays there. The only ways I've found to get rid of it are to either delete the icon and then put it back or to use Advance Task Killer and kill messages application. I'm not using any fancy apps for messages, just the default one.
My email counter is always perfect, this only seems to affect my sms. Also, my girlfriend told me she sent me a message a few days ago, but I never received it. Not sure if that's a happy coincidence, or if the phone got the message, is telling me I haven't read it, but isn't displaying it for me to see. All the other messages from her are plainly visible.
So I gave in and downloaded Hand cent for my Evo. Can someone tell me how to stop my other message application from sending messages. As it currently stands I'm getting 2 notifications each time a message comes through. Sorta annoying.

I have installed handsent and like it, i would like to eliminate HTC messages all together but dont want to root my phone. Is there another way to accomplish this. View 1 Replies View RelatedFor the last few weeks when I get a text message or email I get the regular notification but also another/different "icon" for the same message; so I end up with two icons in my notification bar. And the only way the "new" icon can be cleared from my notification bar is if I physically pull down the bar and press clear (even if I've read the message it stays there until I clear it). It's starting to drive me crazy...my ringtone even goes off twice. Anyone have an idea on why this is happening? I don't have any third party message apps installed.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm having problems setting up my Gmail account with the HTC push email widget. I did enter my Gmail account details when I first set up the phone and they were accepted. I'll walk you through what I do.
1. Go to home screen with large Mail widget then click on it.
2. Click 'Other (POP3/IMAP)'
3. I then enter my email address and password. They are definitely correct. Then I press 'Next'.
4. I then arrive at the 'Incoming Settings' page.
5. I choose IMAP.
6. My email address is already there. My username is there, albeit with 'googlemail' following it (I have tried deleting that - still didn't work).................
When I send text messages to individual it sends them as plain SMS, this works with my free allocation of texts.When I send text messages to a group (a list of 7 individuals) it sends them as 7 "Picture Messages" - this costs me money!. The message has no pictures and is short?How can I force the phone to not send picture messages?

On my new Desire I can't seem to find any settings to set it up in the same sort of way i.e instant email. I have succesfully set up around 4 or 5 accounts and the nearest settings I found was setting it to download every 5 minutes. Is this the nearest the Desire get's to push email?

Called Orange but they steered me in completely the wrong direction, and now their customer services is closed for the night.
Got my Desire hooked up to Exchange without problems and it all works, with the exception of push emails. Basically new emails only arrive when the phone initiates a sync.
I have the relevant options enabled on the server and can't see anything related to push on the handset so I'm a bit lost as to why this doesn't work.
WEIRD messages I'm getting after my 2.2 update. View 21 Replies View RelatedI just installed a new sms app and love it, the problem is that I can't get the proprietary message application on the Hero to stop retrieving all messages. It doesn't help to have cool features like blacklist, if you can't use them because the original app just logs the threads anyway. How do you turn off or uninstall the original message program, I would prefer to just get rid of it and free up the space. Any ideas???
