is it just me or do you all have to manually turn off the alarm clock? The default one that you get with the phone i.e. If I don't turn it off then it will keep ringing indefinately. According to me, a normal alarm clock would ring for about a minute before putting itself on snooze. Sometimes the alarm won't stop ringing after I turn it off either, so then I'll have to turn off the phone.

Man after the unofficial update (.3) every morning when the alarm goes off it wont stop ringing.I have to be turning off the phone every time.

View 1 Replies View RelatedFor the last 3 months I've been turning my ringer to 'medium' (1/2 the bar) before bed and turning off my notifications for yahoo and sync so my gmail alerts won't wake me in the middle of the night. Then my alarm will go off as normal in the morning and I have to turn back on my yahoo notification sound and click the sync button to get my gmail messages.Just now my better half informed me that on his Dinc you can have it on silent or vibrate modes and the alarm still goes off as normal. I tested it on mine and it was the same. Okay, I'm half annoyed because I've been taking all these extra steps to silence my phone before bed and half annoyed because what's the point of having silent mode if the alarm is accidentally set during a meeting or a movie and it will go off? I'm also 1/2 pleased (yes, too many halves) that I now can just avoid unnecessary actions with my phone before bed every single night. My old LG Voyager had an "alarm only" setting (in addition to vibrate/silent /ringer) which makes more sense to me than "vibrate with alarm ring" or "silent with alarm ring". If my Voyager was set to vibrate and the alarm went off, it would just repeatedly vibrate. I am somewhat worried (always paranoid) that this is some kind of glitch and I'll have it set to vibrate overnight and one morning instead of ringing for my alarm it'll just vibrate over and over and I won't wake up. Being late to work is one of my biggest fears Is this the norm with other Dincs? I tried searching but there are so many alarm threads and questions and I am too tired to keep looking.
View 1 Replies View Relatedat night i'll "silence" the phone (using volume keys) to alarm only/ringer volume X so other notifications don't go thru and alarm wakes me up in the morning. so far it failed 3 times even tho i have 2 different alarms set at two different times alarm did not ring at all. i know for a fact i didn't snooze/dismiss it because as soon as the alarm goes off i'm up.i'm a blackberry convert and it never failed on it while phone was in phone calls only mode.is there something i'm doing wrong or what?

It seems to happen when I get new notifications. I can see it happen maybe 50% of the time when i get a text, but have seen it other times just disappear when going into email or something. I can always get it back just by opening the alarm program i'm using.
I have seen this happen with the stock moment alarm and gentle alarm. Klaxon will disappear for a moment and re-appear at times when others would have probably disappeared.
For txt i'm using the application the moment came with. using gmail and moxier. not too much notification add-ons minus that except craigsnotifica.
any thoughts? i talked with the developer for gentle alarm and he couldn't reproduce it...
I tried several alarm clocks on my droid, and they all seem to have a problem. if I set alarms for 6:30, 6:41, and 6:52 am. Each with a different sound. If i snooze alarm 1, alarm 2/3 never goes off. i thought all 3 would be seperate, but it seems only 1 can be active at a time. unless im doing something wrong. this happens on the default alarm clock and, better alarm clock.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThis morning my alarm started unexpectedly at 6am. The lock screen turned into the snooze/stop screen. Dragging down didn't stop it it.. It came on every ten minutes for the next hour. My alarms were set to 9:45am and 8:30pm as usual. Even turning the phone off and on didn't stop the beeping. It was my 9:45am ringtone even. (The two are set differently)

So I'm really confused about a lot of this rooting stuff in a way. I came up with what i want to do. I want to root my phone but i don't want to run a custom Rom cuz i don't really think they offer anything better than what there is stock. Can i root my phone and use the stock Rom. I want root so i can run setup. Oh btw will i be able to way to be able to set your alarm

I've tested to see that I've entered everything correctly by setting it to go off say for example now and it goes off fine - it just seems to be if it's for a longer period of time away it won't go off.

View 3 Replies View RelatedOn my previous phones whenever an alarm is due to go off the next morning an alarm icon is shown on the desktop and when you view the keypad lock screen you get the same thing. This meant that last thing at night I could just press a key to get the lock screen and confirm my alarm was set to go off and at what time.
I can't seem to find a way to see this easily on my Desire.
On my lock screen I get an alarm icon to show that an alarm is set, along side the current time in the notifications bar along the top and then I simply have T-Mobile, Current Time, and the current date on the lock bar.
Now I have just disabled all my alarms except for one on Monday morning (this is Thursday as I type) and I still have the same icon in the notification bar and if i click on the HTC Sense clock widget I simply get told that there is an alarm on again coupled with the current date. This means that if i glance at my phone I can't immediately see that my morning alarm for Friday isn't actually set, I have to go into the alarm clock set screen to check.
I have read on another site that one of the changes in froyo was "Lock Screen - Instead of just the time of the next alarm time. It also shows which day."
Does this mean T-mobile have disabled that feature?
Does anyone else see the date of the next scheduled alarm on the lock screen?
I will have to look to see if there are any apps which can do this although I wonder if an app that messes with the lock screen will also affect battery life.
Now that I think about it I am not sure at what point my previous phones (Sony Ericsson k800i and C905) showed an alarm icon again. So if on Saturday night it showed no alarm for Sunday, but on Sunday morning 00:01 would it then display the icon for Monday? I can't remember ever having noticed one way or another.
OK let me clarify, it does work, but only if I am actively using the phone. If I set my alarm then hit the power button to turn the screen off, or even just allow the screen to timeout and turn off, then the alarm fails to go off. This is REALLY annoying as it renders the entire alarm feature completely useless.

1 I've activated the security lock (where you join some dots to unlock it). Is there a way to delay the lock activating? If I put my phone down for >1 minute and go straight back to it, I really shouldn't need to go though security, whereas if the phone has been inactive for, say 15 minutes, then going through security makes sense. Is there a way to delay the lock?
2 Is there a way to make the screen stay on when it is charging?
3 Is there a way of cut and pasting from a gmail?
4 Is there a way to make a calendar alarm sound periodically, x number of times?
They all scare out of me when they go off, is there a way of setting a tune thats more calming in the morning

Basically I use my phone as an alarm to get up for work. My old Nokia N96 I could set the alarm and then switch the phone off at night and the alarm would still go off on time. This does not seem to be the case with the X10i. It doesn't even go off when the phones in airplane mode which is poor. I just don't want to have to leave my phone on overnight in case it rings and i wake up.

I am using service class to play the mp3 file using media player object on Android platform, problem is, i am not able to handle the alarm interruption.When any previous set alarm clock reach to it's alarm time it starts to play in parallel with mp3.I want that mp3 should become paused and after alarm it again start to play,same thing should happen with snooze.
