My phone was working fine last night but today the sound has gone/stopped working on the keys as you press them..the settings are fine and all switched on..I took the battery out and tried again but its still the same..any thoughts please?

Suddenly stopped working for no reason. I've changed nothing in the settings and everything in default settings aswell as Handcent settings show that the sound is being used....but when I 'Test Notification' in Handcent there is no sound.
View 2 Replies View RelatedA backlight used to turn on for the bottom hard press keys on my dx but ever since I downloaded and installed the live wallpaper panoplied, they don't turn on anymore. I don't know how or even why a live wallpaper would turn off backlight settings for the keys but its becoming a major inconvenience. I checked the settings but couldn't find where to tweak backlight settings. I also rebooted the phone and did a soft reset but that didn't work. Can anyone out there help a brother out?

At some point (not sure when exactly) the long-press feature to bring up the context menu for links in Chrome stopped working.
When I long-press on a link, all that happens is I get a short vibrate, but no menu.
This means that I can no longer "Open in new tab".It's all working fine on my Nexus 7.
My alarm was working fine now the notification is no longer sounding. All other sounds, sms gmail email etc are ok. If you try and change the sound to a stock sound they don't sound either (so I don't think its to do with the SD card). Any ideas?

I have gone into the Volume section under Sound and tried to mess with the volume levels. When I turn the alarm level up to the highest it can go, instead of playing my alarm sound it plays a very faint beeping noise. When I turn up my notification level it makes a similar beeping noise.
I have set a notification sound for both my ring and notification. When I recieve my text messages now, the phone only vibrates. It used to always give me the notification sound as well. Ringer notification is fine. It is not set in the vibrate mode.
View 5 Replies View RelatedLast night I was bored and browsing through my soundboards looking for a new ringtone. I was opening and closing apps, running task killer, if I thought it necessary. Everything was fine, until all of a sudden my media volume stopped working. On screen, while I'm playing media, I can pull the volume up and down, but no sound comes out. The Alarm volume, and ringer volume continue to work. So this morning I snooped around the forums and decided to reset my phone. All was going well, until I accidentally played some mp3's that were on my SD card. Now the media volume has stopped working again and when I turn on my phone, my music app has attached itself to that screen that you have to pull down to log in.
I didn't request that, and can't find a way to turn that off in the settings. To be honest, I am a new user. I've had my hero for two weeks, and I'd love to know that my problems are user error and not a faulty phone. I've also re-downloaded task killer and am wondering if that was a bad choice. I'm still at the point of just playing with my phone: launching apps, installing, uninstalling, etc, and it seemed like a good idea. In a worst case scenario, I'm thinking of deleting the mp3's and doing another reset. But if I have to keep doing this regularly, the exercise will get a little old.
I got my desire last week and everything was good until last night when i changed my googlemail address to gmail. I looked across the forum and found that the best thing to do was reset the phone. I did this and all was perfect once more until I went to go to college and was listening to music but couldn't change tracks or pause using the hands-free kit. I have no idea how to get it working again and don't know if the reset had anything to do with it stopping working. All I know is it worked perfectly the other day.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIn many games there are actions that you need to hold Y and then press B , but for snesoid, since I am using my same thumb on the virtual keys in an attempt to press them both at the same time, it doesn't work. It will release y and then press B or just release y. This becomes apparent in games like Super Mario World when you run, then jump, you lose the momentum and just do a regular jump. On the droid x, the only solution I have found is to set B also to a hardware key, like one of the volume buttons, then you can see how its supposed to work when you hold Y then hit B. This affects many other games like DKC3 (jumping while holding barrel). Any help or ideas?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've had my Desire for a couple of weeks now, and I love it! Have spent FAR too many evening customizing it and playing with it and even taking it along to the pub one evening and completely ignoring everyone else there because it had my undivided attention (yes, I know, very sad). Anyhow, very recently (as in, the last couple of days), MMS has stopped working. It first happened on Friday (I think) when I received one from a friend (well, I assumed it was one!) using Handcent. It showed up from the person with a Download button and when I pressed that, it changed to a Downloading which then did nothing. When I came out of and went back into Handcent, repeated those steps, and got the same outcome. I thought it was something to do with Handcent not being configured correctly for MMS - I hadn't sent or received one since installing and using Handcent - I had sent a received a couple using the default Messages app, which then subsequently were pulled through and displayed in Handcent fine. I thought nothing of it at the time, but I've just been playing with it again this afternoon and I can't get anything out of it. I've been trying in both Handcent and the default app to send a simple picture to myself, and it's not sending.
It did send once, for some reason, as I turned the phone off completely, I saw it suddenly send in the background and then low and behold when I booted it up, it was there - but even that hasn't worked this time?! In both Handcent and Messages the picture will sit there with the little spinning circle icon, doing nothing. In the "undelivered messages" section of both clients, they both report that that particular message is failing, but if I try a re-send it still just does nothing. I just can't think what has changed/why it isn't working - could it be Handcent? That's the only thing I can think (that would effect messaging) that could have caused a problem? Another thing is, although I've found the message centre number for my network (o2) in the settings for the default client, and I've found the Access Point details for O2 WAP and O2 MMS (which got downloaded automatically when I first set up the phone) I can't seem to find a way to reset them - I don't want to hit the Delete button on them if it is just left blank - is there a way of re-downloading the settings from the network? (or do I have to make a note of them and input them manually?!) I don't particularly want to have to do a factory reset for this either! It just seems as though, although the settings are there for MMS, neither application seems to be able to connection to the MMS-specific servers and whatnot!
My trackpad suddenly stopped working, I haven't dropped it or anything like that so I don't think it is a hardware problem.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI was wondering. Is there an app for changing the soft keys on my Samsung Vibrant to only activate when pressed long or double clicked? I am just sick and tired of accidentally pressing them because they are so damn sensitive, and unlike the Fascinate or Epic 4g, so close to the touch screen that pressing spacebar on the onscreen keyboard half the time results in hitting the soft keys by accident. I don't understand why we can't customize what the soft keys do and how long or many times activates them, because if you got even normal sized finger tips, it's so annoying to be typing into the search bar and then press back right below and have to retype everything again.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe first one the flashlight led stopped working in any app. It was returned. Now its replacement has another issue with the camera. I'm getting blocky colourful pixelation when the phone is on a gprs connection and I use the camera. At least that didn't happen on the first one. I'm getting seriously fed up with HTC. Will I get one that works properly? Might swap it for Samsung galaxy, but I know I'd miss sense. S there a fix for the camera bug? Updated software? It takes a perfect picture. It just looks wrong before you click the shutter.
View 21 Replies View RelatedI downloaded the froyo upgrade 2 days ago and it seems to have stopped my wifi working. Its not a problem with the router as other devices work on the router. I also checked my desire on other wifi networks and there is no connection to the internet. I manually put in the ip address and the wifi icon comes up but still no link to the internet. When I use my3G mobile internet everything works so it can only be a bug with froyo upgrade.
View 1 Replies View RelatedToday I plugged my Desire in to the USB socket, to top up the charge, and noticed the little USB icon/logo thing that usually shows up on the top left of the Desire's screen wasn't there. I checked in the phone's settings and it is still set to ask me what to do when I plug it in. I have tried a couple of leads (including the one HTC gave me) as well as both front and back USB ports. My PC is running windows 7 and it plays the chime when I plug my phone in.
It also appears in devices/printers but when I right click the phone and choose browse files it is greyed out! I have tried uninstalling the drivers etc, restarting the PC, I even tried to plug the phone into my netbook (running Ubuntu, which used to recognize the phone) but nothing works! It is not really the end of the world but I would like to sort it. The phone charges when I plug it in the USB socket on the PC. I suddenly thought 'I haven't rebooted the phone' so I did and all works as it should now.
Have been sending a few emails no problem, then suddenly the phone is saying the account setting is incorrect. I am not aware i have made any changes and everything looks ok in the account. I can still recieve but not send .

I can't adjust the ringer volume on my home screens, or the media volume when I'm running any apps or the in call volume either. I feel like I've accidentally triggered some volume lock, but I've searched for answers and come up empty. Does anyone have any ideas as to what happened or how I can solve this? They were working just fine up until yesterday, and I don't believe I installed or changed anything since the buttons were working.

Just installed Air Horn app, and for some reason the speaker has stopped working, no sound, no music, no alarm in the morning.
As soon as i un-install app, all good again.

I am using seek bar to control volume of the device. I am able to change the volume of the device using thumb of the seek bar just by dragging it on touch pad. But when user presses volume(side) keys I need to set seek bar thumb position accordingly.

I edited the swiftkey apk and swapped the .wav files in /res/raw with the wav from the iphone. Then I resigned the apk and finally got it to install but when I try typing something there is no sound.
How do i set the sound as ringtone with long press on the button?
