My notification and alarm sound has stopped working however when I go to play music off my phone it still works.
I have gone into the Volume section under Sound and tried to mess with the volume levels. When I turn the alarm level up to the highest it can go, instead of playing my alarm sound it plays a very faint beeping noise. When I turn up my notification level it makes a similar beeping noise.

My alarm was working fine now the notification is no longer sounding. All other sounds, sms gmail email etc are ok. If you try and change the sound to a stock sound they don't sound either (so I don't think its to do with the SD card). Any ideas?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have set a notification sound for both my ring and notification. When I recieve my text messages now, the phone only vibrates. It used to always give me the notification sound as well. Ringer notification is fine. It is not set in the vibrate mode.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI use my phone for a work alarm and have it set to repeat during the week, I had to work at a different office yesterday so set a new alarm, this failed to go off, I thought it was just that I set it wrong but this morning my regular alarm failed to go off too.I've checked the volume controls and everything is set to high volume, I can't see anything that would stop it from going off?

Set the Battery Full Notification - it worked well for awhile, then simply stopped. (???)
Text message notification still works fine, but not Battery Full. I have tried resetting, and volumes are turned up for everything including notifications.
The local store suggested that I look online for an answer (hence this post), they said the phone settings looked fine. If a fix isn't found online they will restore the phone to factory settings to see if that works.
On my HTC droid, my alarm clock stopped working. It will light up and vibrate, but it won't play any sound. I have tried having the phone at full volume, adjusting everything, and I can't get it to work. Has anyone had this problem?? Any solutions?

View 1 Replies View RelatedFor the past two days my alarm goes off, the phone vibrates, but there's no sound it's only the noise of the vibrate that wakes me up.This is a recent thing, I've checked the volume is up, I don't have a taskiller installed, I've set and reset the alarm sound to go off, but even when I go into settings to change the sound, if I select a new sound it doesn't ring out. However, if I go to change my ringtone, that does make a sound. I've turned the phone on and off, I've deleted and set new alarms to no avail.I just don't get it... can anyone help? Software version is 1.0.0.A6288, firmware 1.5 if that helps. Installed new OS about a month ago.
View 2 Replies View RelatedLast night I was bored and browsing through my soundboards looking for a new ringtone. I was opening and closing apps, running task killer, if I thought it necessary. Everything was fine, until all of a sudden my media volume stopped working. On screen, while I'm playing media, I can pull the volume up and down, but no sound comes out. The Alarm volume, and ringer volume continue to work. So this morning I snooped around the forums and decided to reset my phone. All was going well, until I accidentally played some mp3's that were on my SD card. Now the media volume has stopped working again and when I turn on my phone, my music app has attached itself to that screen that you have to pull down to log in.
I didn't request that, and can't find a way to turn that off in the settings. To be honest, I am a new user. I've had my hero for two weeks, and I'd love to know that my problems are user error and not a faulty phone. I've also re-downloaded task killer and am wondering if that was a bad choice. I'm still at the point of just playing with my phone: launching apps, installing, uninstalling, etc, and it seemed like a good idea. In a worst case scenario, I'm thinking of deleting the mp3's and doing another reset. But if I have to keep doing this regularly, the exercise will get a little old.
I am getting no ringer notifications when new emails come in. The new emails are not showing up in the top bar either, nor is the pulse notification light coming on or is the phone vibrating . And yes, all these utilities are turned on and have been triple checked.

View 13 Replies View Relatedlast night I got tired of waiting for the 2.2 update so I installed unrevoked forever, 2.15 radio and the third wave rom from adrenyline. After all that went smoothly I decided to throw the standard clock undervolt hydra kernel in there too. After I did that I got sporadic reboots and the screen became very unresponsive. Also it seems to cause the phone to freeze whenever it has to wake up to play a notification sound or alarm...
Now I have to say that I had the same problem about a month ago when I tried one of the older Hydra Kernels, but I figured it would be fixed with the newer ones. My question is it seems that I am the only one with problems, all the posts I read about these things are positive with little or no issues. Am I installing it incorrectly somehow? Is anyone else having issues too?
I received my new Droid recently (yes, for Christmas), everything was working fine - even while using the Open Home feature.
However, some time this past week - or longer - the voice mail notification has stopped working. No blinky light, no icon, nothing. I have tested using the regular Home and the Open Home - same results. Just a missed call notification. Further troubleshooting steps I have taken was just powering off the phone and powering back on. I have also removed the battery for a couple of minutes and replaced, still the same. I have also cleared out all voicemails and left myself a voicemail, still same thing. Only the missed call notification.

I could just do a complete wipe and reload to see if that resolves my issue - but my question is, the applications I have paid for, will I have to pay for them again? Or does it keep track of what you purchase?
My light has stopped working. The LED isnt dead, cos I DL'd Missed Call from the Market, and it works with that app, but not when I get a text, tweet or FB invite/msg/event. It flashed green for: tweets and texts and Blue for FB notifications.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a daily recurring alarm set (M-F @ 6am). For some reason, the alarm icon in the notification bar just up and disappears on me occasionally, and I don't know why. The alarm went off this morning, but since I was asleep, I don't know if the icon was up there or not.
Here's the thing. I don't care if it disappears so long as I know that the alarm will go off. But, will it? I don't know for sure unless I see that icon up there in the notification bar (or on the lock screen) that tells me that the alarm is set.
I don't have any task killers or alarm clock applications installed. I once had a task killer installed, but didn't see the point in it so I uninstalled it. I had Kaloer clock installed, but uninstalled it for the same reason.
So I don't know what would be causing the conflict, or would be killing the notification, unless for some reason Angry Birds Rio just loves killing notification icons.
Android 2.2.2 on a Samsung Replenish.
Edit: I should add, when the icon disappeared, I went into the alarms and found that it was, in fact, still set and turned on. If I turn off the alarm, then turn it back on, the icon returns, but then disappears after a while. So, it looks like the alarm stays on, but I still that apprehensive feeling of not knowing for sure because the icon isn't there.
At some point in the past (in a moment of foolishness), I installed some piece of software on my Samsung S4 that sounds an audible alarm whenever any notification appears on the bar. It starts beeping and will not stop until I swipe down. As my employer has insisted on a password, this is now often a minute-long process and very annoying and occasionally embarrassing.
Note, I like notifications; I just want to stop this alarm going off every time I get one from any application.
I cannot find anything intuitive in any list of applications or any other system list. How do I get rid of it?
I was in the middle of crossing files over to it from my computer, and then it froze and stop crossing over files, and crashed my computer, so I unplugged it and restarted my computer and it hasn't worked since. I did have some problems with my computer telling me that the card was only 530kb, so I stuck it in my phone and formatted it, and it was working and then that happened. I really don't want to have to buy another 32gb SD card.

When I took it to look at it, I noticed that the phone was overheating. I popped the battery, let it cool down completely, and tried again. Also my Play store was missing from the phone so I installed the one that comes with Lucky Patcher (modded one) but that didn't work. Tried un-installing Play services and re installing it (downloaded the apk).
I have just purchased Samsung Galaxy S3 Clone (Mediatek 6575). Its Android 4.2 Jelly bean.It was working perfectly fine only had issue that it's wifi was catching signals really weak. I mistakenly factory reset my phone which cause to no boot up animation. Its just blank when i turn on or off my phone. To fix that i rooted my phone as to get into root files i need to root it.
Since i rooted my phone the issue i am having is it says "System UI Stopped working" , "Touch wizard stopped working". Now what should i do, i am really worried.
I tried going into the CWM recovery but its not going, it was going in stock recovery before now its not even going in the stock recovery its just all blank.Now what should i do, its okay if i don't get the bootup logo/ shutdown logo but atleast i have to remove these errors. I have a problem, I have a > Androd tablet coby mid 8048, I had inserted a mini external 4GB SD Which contained photographs and I could see them from the gallery normally
Also take photographs and make downloads ....... but after I tried to made a root and instal google play from the external sd mode, it works just fine. it was installed correctly, but after a moments the external sd stoped working,when i went to the library / images tells me not Sd card is mounted, I can not download files or take photographs, I can only explore its contents from LOCAL / exsdcard. there I See everything.
the funny thing is that when you turn the tablet off and back on, it tell the message that says "preparing sd-mount" then says "sd card Mounted "and sd icon appears in the bottom right ..... but not mount on the gallery. I go to settings / internal storage and SD appears but not USB internal storage sda. ,i try to disable the storage to remove safely, turn off The device and try again, but does not work , i all ready try to restore from fabric but nothing only personal data erase and some games.... but the google play still apear instaled that was not there when i buy it, so i think something has change.... what can I do?
I have an app that does some polling every 2 hours. I set a repeating alarm that starts a service but I have noticed that if I use some task manager (e.g. TasKiller) to kill my app then the polling will not be performed from that moment on. I know this because I store the time of the last poll, I have also checked the server logs and there are no requests received from the client after I force close my app. Is this the way alarms work or should I look somewhere else for a crash or smth? because if alarms really get canceled then how should we implement the polling?
I'm also interested in what happens with a running service if it gets killed from another app (I assume all task managers are using ActivityManager.restartPackage() to kill other apps), does it get restarted?
So my tether had been working perfectly up until yesterday. I have the full version plus the addon. Normally when I activate the hotspot it takes about 3 seconds then I get two drop down notifications in my top notification bar. The first says hotspot is active (blue wifi icon) and to click to view traffics, and if i click on it, i am directed to the main foxfi page. The second would say hotspot is active, and click to configure settings (this one had a white wifi icon). When I clicked on this one it would let me alter some settings. However, now this one is no longer showing up, and my tether is also not working. When I activate the hotspot, it takes twice as long, and then finally the blue icon pops up, but not the white one. The network is not identifiable even though foxfi says it is running.
View 1 Replies View Relatedi got a brand new S3 In december 2013 , i dropped it an it broke ( both touch and LCD ) I got them replaced by a authorized service . It worked fine 2 months , Two days ago some problem appeared, Touch screen stopped working propperly , it worked only for short periods of time. Now if i press really hard on the right hand corner (Above the return arrow) it works Perfectly ( as long as i keep my finger there) but sometimes it works fine after reboot but in the end it stops (No signs of cracks or damage) , i had CM11. What i've done until now :
-Deleted CM11 and added 4.1.2
-Took it appart and checked the ribbon ( fine)
-Hard reset
- Dummy file generator
Everything works on it buttons ,Before the freezing screen flashes a bit .
