I have set a notification sound for both my ring and notification. When I recieve my text messages now, the phone only vibrates. It used to always give me the notification sound as well. Ringer notification is fine. It is not set in the vibrate mode.

Suddenly stopped working for no reason. I've changed nothing in the settings and everything in default settings aswell as Handcent settings show that the sound is being used....but when I 'Test Notification' in Handcent there is no sound.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy notification and alarm sound has stopped working however when I go to play music off my phone it still works.
I have gone into the Volume section under Sound and tried to mess with the volume levels. When I turn the alarm level up to the highest it can go, instead of playing my alarm sound it plays a very faint beeping noise. When I turn up my notification level it makes a similar beeping noise.
I have an mp3 that I want to use as my notification and text message sound. It was on my computer. I have emailed it to myself and I am able to download it to my droid eris.
On my Eris, it appears in my music section. How do I set it as my notification sound? It is not appearing in the "sound" list for notifications.
I've had this happen to me twice now over the past week. It seems that periodically my notification sounds will stop. I will see that I have new emails but never heard the sound. I will then go send myself a test text message and it will vibrate but make no sound. I've made sure all my volumes are up, and even went in to pick a notification sound and it will work fine in the sound chooser when I pick it.
I also noticed both times that it did this if I go in to Spare Parts or Battery History and look my phone is staying awake and Android Usage is the one with the partial wake lock. Generally I don't have any sleep issues, it only happens when my notification sounds have also quit working. The only way to fix it is power off and back on and then all is good again.
I received my new Droid recently (yes, for Christmas), everything was working fine - even while using the Open Home feature.
However, some time this past week - or longer - the voice mail notification has stopped working. No blinky light, no icon, nothing. I have tested using the regular Home and the Open Home - same results. Just a missed call notification. Further troubleshooting steps I have taken was just powering off the phone and powering back on. I have also removed the battery for a couple of minutes and replaced, still the same. I have also cleared out all voicemails and left myself a voicemail, still same thing. Only the missed call notification.

I could just do a complete wipe and reload to see if that resolves my issue - but my question is, the applications I have paid for, will I have to pay for them again? Or does it keep track of what you purchase?
My light has stopped working. The LED isnt dead, cos I DL'd Missed Call from the Market, and it works with that app, but not when I get a text, tweet or FB invite/msg/event. It flashed green for: tweets and texts and Blue for FB notifications.
View 15 Replies View RelatedMy alarm was working fine now the notification is no longer sounding. All other sounds, sms gmail email etc are ok. If you try and change the sound to a stock sound they don't sound either (so I don't think its to do with the SD card). Any ideas?

Google Maps & Latitude, Youtube, the Market will not load properly and will either give error messages or won't load at all. Gmail, Voice, Gtalk and the web still work. I have did a couple reboots, pulled the battery, cleared the cache and nothing has helped. Any suggestions short of a factory restore or the Verizon store?

I have been in the Application Manager stopping and clearing various services and apps I don't use. Obviously I have not done that to email, but are there any apps or services in there that affect email? I'm wondering if I messed something up by going too far parring down the device of stuff I don't use, or if this has happened to somebody else with an Eris and it's a bug.

Is there a way to set it up on the DX so that if i don't read a new text after the initial ring, it will beep or play the rington like every minute. this is the only feature i miss, bc sumtimes i walk away from my phone and miss the text coming in and i wont know its there unless i check my phone. I would like to have it beep or something every minute as a reminder that you have a text waiting.
View 3 Replies View RelatedLast night I was bored and browsing through my soundboards looking for a new ringtone. I was opening and closing apps, running task killer, if I thought it necessary. Everything was fine, until all of a sudden my media volume stopped working. On screen, while I'm playing media, I can pull the volume up and down, but no sound comes out. The Alarm volume, and ringer volume continue to work. So this morning I snooped around the forums and decided to reset my phone. All was going well, until I accidentally played some mp3's that were on my SD card. Now the media volume has stopped working again and when I turn on my phone, my music app has attached itself to that screen that you have to pull down to log in.
I didn't request that, and can't find a way to turn that off in the settings. To be honest, I am a new user. I've had my hero for two weeks, and I'd love to know that my problems are user error and not a faulty phone. I've also re-downloaded task killer and am wondering if that was a bad choice. I'm still at the point of just playing with my phone: launching apps, installing, uninstalling, etc, and it seemed like a good idea. In a worst case scenario, I'm thinking of deleting the mp3's and doing another reset. But if I have to keep doing this regularly, the exercise will get a little old.
On my HTC droid, my alarm clock stopped working. It will light up and vibrate, but it won't play any sound. I have tried having the phone at full volume, adjusting everything, and I can't get it to work. Has anyone had this problem?? Any solutions?

But it happened only after the update, so post hoc, propter hoc, etc.I can now no longer unlock the phone with the downstroke of a finger that previously worked. So when I start my droid eris up this is what I am getting. The phone gets no signal. When I start up the phone is asks me if I want to use "htc sense" or "home". I did download "91pandahome" and I guess also "home". I can't go to settings and turn on WiFi or mobile 3g. iIhave no cell signal.
I am getting no ringer notifications when new emails come in. The new emails are not showing up in the top bar either, nor is the pulse notification light coming on or is the phone vibrating . And yes, all these utilities are turned on and have been triple checked.

I have gone into sounds and selected notification sound and expected there to be an option for silent among the other sounds but no dice. And I don't see any other way to turn it off. Before my eris would play the notification sound within a second of the vibration. Now, my phone lags for about 2 or 3 seconds, vibrating first, then ringing. use the native SMS program, and I don't want to have to download any new apps like chompSMS or anything, I just want my phone to start working again.

I still wanted SMS and Email to come in, but I wanted those to be silent.I realize I can dive down into Menu > Setting and do it manually, but I'm looking for something simpler like an app or widget.I could turn off Mobile Network via a widget, but like I said above, I still want SMS and Email to come in, just not make a sound.Any ideas?
View 5 Replies View RelatedBack when I got my phone, I transfered an MP3 from the computer to the SD card and selected it as ringtone. it is still there and still works.....but now, after the OTA update, when I go into settings/phone ringtone this sound is not on the list. How do I get it back?
Also, under notifications, in the list of sounds the ones on my SD card are not there. I have a sound stored on the card that I would like to set as the notification. I mounted the card to my computer to verify that these files are indeed on the SD card. The phone just isn't seeing them in the list of available sounds...but, they do play if I go into MP3 or Music app.

Set the Battery Full Notification - it worked well for awhile, then simply stopped. (???)
Text message notification still works fine, but not Battery Full. I have tried resetting, and volumes are turned up for everything including notifications.
The local store suggested that I look online for an answer (hence this post), they said the phone settings looked fine. If a fix isn't found online they will restore the phone to factory settings to see if that works.
I have a problem with my evo. At times I do not get a notification sound when I receive a text message. Not until I check my phone is when I notice this since I gotten the text 2 hours prior. Its happened a couple of times already and recently just happened. I'm wondering if any of my apps such as launcher pro or others are causing this. I have my profile sounds to normal so I'm sure it should give me a ring.
