I'm trying to replace the swiftkey stock sounds with the iphone sounds.
I edited the swiftkey apk and swapped the .wav files in /res/raw with the wav from the iphone. Then I resigned the apk and finally got it to install but when I try typing something there is no sound.

I have, for the time being, a custom view with a 9-patch image as a border.
That custom view is placed three times in a LinearLayout, so it looks like this:

I have attached a click event listener to the View, so it is clickable. But then I click it, I cant see that I am clicking it - there is no change in color.
So, Im thought that I'd attach a "onPress" listener, and then change the background of the view but I couldnt find such a listener.
So, the question is - how do I create the behaviour on the View so I can see that it is being pressed? this is normally done in Android with a green background to indicate that it is now being pressed.
I am new to android and i had owned a sony walkman mobile the feature which enabled me to change the songs with volume rocker long press...is missing on android...currently i own a sony xperia sp and running stock rom and stock firmware..how to root the mobile or mess around with the software..all i know is to download apks and install them...so developing apk which enables users to change songs with long press of volume rocker?..and as i mentioned above i do not have a rooted mobile so is there any way i can find or instal an apk to change songs with the volume rocker without rooting and custom roms?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI'd like to find a way to change the sound files Android uses to play back MIDI files. Ideally, I would like to be able to playback MIDI files and have them sound exactly as they do on my Windows PC.
I can only assume that this would require finding where the Android MIDI database is stored and replacing its default soundbank with the Microsoft gm.dls file. I don't know if Android uses .sf, .sf2, .dls, or some other kind of file for its bank, but I'm fairly resourceful and I'm sure I can find a suitable replacement for the stock file.

My problem is that the stock midi is just... Just terrible. Me and my band use Guitar Pro to write up our songs and show them to each other and I would really like to to be able to show my stuff to my bandmates on the go. The problem is that it's really hard to get a picture of the song without that familiar Windows GM sound. We've been using it for so long that we can almost picture how the song will sound when we play it if we hear the Windows MIDI. We (or at least I) don't get that if we use the Android MIDI sound.

I've just upgrade my S2 from andriod 2.3ish to 4.1.2. Before doing so I changed the default system sound to that droplet sound (in the normal settings view, no root, nothing special with this phone) but now I've upgraded the 'normal' setting to change 'system sound' has gone. Have they really just scrapped that option?

LG Nexus 5. For the 2nd time in a month my Swiftkey (paid version) has stopped working. Grrr. The only way I could get it working again was uninstall and reinstall. Nothing else worked. I sent a support request to Swiftkey on this (no response yet). Any way to prevent it?

I have an ImageButton in my app and I need to change the tint of the image when the button is pressed/focused. I have the ImageButton set to get its src from an XML file which as follows. code...
However the tint isn't applied when the ImageButton is pressed or focused - the image just displays as normal. The color black is defined as #000000 as always. Any ideas?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am currently an iPhone 4s user and really like the way that the switch toggles between no sound (vibrate) and sound. I leave me phone in vibrate mode for most of the day and in the evening I tend to switch it to sound so I can hear the alerts from around my house when I don't have the phone with me. I am thinking about switching to an android device (S4 or HTC One) and have a few friends that haven't been able to duplicate the behavior of the iPhone. They get sound with vibration or some other weird combinations that wont work for me. Is this a limitation of the OS or is it device specific? I basically want everything to vibrate (Ringer, SMS, Email) with the option of changing everything to sound, no combinations of the two. I also need to distinguish between types of messages by using different vibration patterns.

When the alarm goes off, the song that should play is preceded by a rather annoying alarm bell type noise.
