HTC Desire : Reply Is Above TextText Times - Get Instant Order?
Oct 22, 2010once i send a text and get an instant reply, the reply is above my text, i thought that the replied text would be below. anybody else get this?

Motorola Droid :: Pre Order By Calling In Gives An Instant Rebate As Well
Nov 2, 2009I just pre ordered my DROID by calling into Verizon Wireless Sales, their main number and they give the instant rebate over the phone if you do it over the phone ... so yeah just wanted to give a heads up.
I won't be getting my phone on friday, anyone who pre orders over the phone will NOT get your phones on friday, it would be like tuesday or wed...
I'm actually fine with waiting because i know i will get one.
Another FYI- the verizon rep over the phone said they have 65,000 units to sell for PHONE sales... this is seperate then what best buy and verizon stores are getting..
Motorola Droid :: Improvements To Gmail App - Reply - Reply All And Forward Buttons Very Inconvenient
Dec 10, 2009I got an Android device specifically for Google integration, since my employer uses Google for 50% of our work (email, calendar, chat). Yet bizarrely, Android's Gmail app seems to be the weakest point of their platform.
IMHO (and please not let this become some kind of fanboy bashfest of someone trying to put in constructive criticism here):
The "Reply," "Reply All," and "Forward" buttons are very inconvenient -- at the bottom of the message, rather than a toolbar of some kind. This means that when I want to respond to one of those interminable email chains, I have to scroll past wads of old crap to reply. I've had intermittent success with forwarding attachments. It seems unpredictable when an attachment will forward and when it won't. Can someone shed some light into when it works? I suspect it has something to do with Outlook or other clients that attach files in non-standard ways. Very limited offline functionality. I would really prefer if there were an IMAP mode so I can review email while offline (e.g. on the plane or underground). Specific to the Droid: The D-Pad has so much potential, but instead all it does is jump from link to link in an email, which I do not find intuitive at all. At a minimum I'd think that the D-Pad would let you scroll; ideally, I'd like to see the D-Pad help solve the first problem described above (lack of access to the reply and forward buttons) so enough whining from me. I'd appreciate any solutions to the above (and "Shut up and deal with it" is not appreciated). It could be keystroke shortcuts I'm not aware of, apps that work better than the default Gmail program, pending app updates that take advantage of the Droid's unique hardware, etc.
HTC Desire :: SMS - Reply And Include Recipients Or Groups
Aug 4, 2010I have been stuck with this problem since getting the Desire. How can I include a extra recipients when replying to an SMS and not just the original sender? At present I have to reply to the message, then go back into messaging, touch and hold the message then select forward - now I can send this message to other recipients or a group. Seems a roundabout way.

Apr 29, 2010I'm a winmo convert and just setting up my new Desire. All pretty good so far. I'd like to be able to change the from / reply to address on an account in the the Mail application (as opposed to the Gmail one) but can't find an option to. I have mail from my primary account forwarding to my gmail account which syncs with the Desire and I want to be able to reply using my primary address rather than the gmail one.

Aug 13, 2009Unless it is just my settings, when I text I can send a text and receive a quick reply and can reply back and forth. However, if I back out of messaging (go to main screen to any other app) the reply that I receive has lost the area code prefix and my replies will not be delivered. All my contacts have been entered with the 10 digit number but like I said, if I leave the messaging session after my first send, the contact number is truncated to 7 digits.

I've managed to make it start a new blank message but not open a pre-defined one and send it automatically.

Aug 29, 2010This in regards to its vibration function. due to the rather soft tone of its sound (to me at least) sometimes when my phone is ringing from a message, i tend to NOT notice that a message comes in. so i use vibration , but the thing with hand cent vibration is the vibration is a one time thing only. a message comes in, it vibrates once, and thats it.. but the ring tone goes on and on.. fiddling with the vibration settings in hand cent did not help. what i want to do is make my desire vibrate a lot more times than just
once.. is this possible?

Sep 16, 2010So, when I go to my call logs, the times it shows for the calls is all wrong. As in, the last call showing in my call log shows Today at 8.52 pm. It is currently 12:15 PM.
I've got about 8 calls today, and they are all in the evening? The rest of the times on my phone are right, but the call log appears to be picking up some other time zone. Any thoughts?

Jun 4, 2010Being my first android, i'm still against the wall configuring my yahoo and gmail on the Desire. I am able to download emails when i do a manual refresh, but what exactly are the settings "peak times" and "during" and "off-peak" times?
Currently i've set peak times to 00:00---00:00
During peak times --- every 15 mins
Off peak times --- manual
Have UltimateJuice set to enable the apn every 3 mins per hour and also when the screen is on.
After doing all this, i am only able to receive emails when i manually open the email app and let it refresh
what am i doing wrong?
I dont really need emails all day, i'd love for my yahoo and gmail to download new emails only between 9am-930am everyday. Thats enough for me
Someone please help me with the correct settings.

Jul 13, 2010My partner has her Desire set to download/sync emails once a day but, it's downloading them more than that once a day. Is there perhaps another setting we're missing, or another setting which tells it how often to sync?It's set to once a day but, went off twice while we were at her mums yesterday within, id say an hour but, I think it was more like half an hour. It also notified her of more emails later on....I heard it go off about 5am this morning, to be told it was the fifth time it'd done it and so now it was on airplane mode which wasnt convenient. I managed to turn off syncing altogether (facebook gave me an option to change frequency, email didnt so i had to turn it all off in the menu i was in), which isnt convenient as she wants the weather to be updated regularly - Also an option on the list (cant remember what the third one was but, four options in total). So I'm thinking there must be somewhere else which says how frequently to update.

May 30, 2010I really appreciate the threaded messages in android phones but i have a strange experience with it once in a while. When you text back and forth you get all these messages in like a chat form following the order of the conversation but sometimes i would all get my messages in a cluster while the response of my friend would be thrown somewhere in the beginning or at the end. I have no problem with sending and receiving but they sometimes don't come in the right order. I don't know if i have explained myself well or if you guys can see my problem.

Jun 14, 2010Over the last few days, my Gmail has stopped syncing several times intermittently, with even a manual refresh having no effect. Coincidentally or otherwise, downloads from the Market have been taking absolutely ages to start over roughly the same period. Not sure whether this is connected, but these symptoms started at about the same time that I started getting "Low on space" warnings on status bar - though I still have about 13MB spare - surely enough to sync a few emails and complete small market downloads? Rebooting the phone seems to get Gmail working again, and kicks pending downloads from the market into life as well. Which would seem to indicate that memory is not the issue. This is a stock Desire, with the recent OTA firmware update. I am now also wondering whether this may be linked to that OTA update?

Oct 2, 2010I do like using the predictive text on my desire, i find it much easier, one question i have though, is there anyway to change the order in which the phone gives suggestions, so if it always predicts a certain word as the 2nd option, is there anyway to make that word always the first option? for instance if i type they, which i do a lot, view always is the first option, it would be so much more useful for me to be able to set certain words as the first prediction.

Aug 16, 2010It was late at night and I couldn't sleep so I decided to listen to some music with the HTC headphones. Then I thought I heard something outside, so I pressed pause on the headphones and then I repeatedly pressed play, I am a really impatient person and the music stopped and the phone started calling someone. After some tests I found out that the phone calls the last person you called if you press play 5 times. Is it a bug? Couse i really dont like the feature and im sure people dont like being called at 3 in the night either.

Jul 17, 2010I have now got Genres working in the Music player on my Desire but have hit a new problem. Track Order.
All the tracks in the folders on my SD card have track numbers, copied from the PC folders. This means that when I play an album on my PC it plays in the track order; essential for symphonies!
However in the Desire Music player tracks are sorted alphabetically; Astro shows me that the track numbers are there as part of the file name. I do not wish to created over 100 playlists.
Is there a way to get the Music player to sort tracks by track order?

Jun 30, 2010I have tried using Better Cut and Folder Organiser in order to change the icons on my HTC Desire. However, when I try and do this for Messaging, Email or People application, it always reverts back to the standard HTC icon.
How have other people got round this? Or is this just a problem I am experiencing? I am un-rooted.

Jul 18, 2010I got my desire just a few weeks back and the phone is the best one i used till now...Better than the iphone..But the sms threaded view in my phone is not being stored in order for some contacts. The order of the messages stored is not as it should be...my sent message(First sent) is stored after the received one(later received)..I have tried putting my own time instead of the automatic network time still the problem continues..

May 4, 2010I'm using a desire, which is fantastic but I've got one issue. Using the default music player - just called 'Music' when I play an album the tracks seem to play in a random order. The player seems to be reading tags properly , correct track names and artwork etc and if I look at a tracks properties in the player software I can see that it is reading track number info. I don't know if there is a setting I have got wrong but it would be great to get songs playing in right order. Other than this the Desire is great.

This happens without adding any new bookmarks!
