There is something wrong with my text message inbox. When i receive a text message and reply to it, my message comes up before the one I received even though I sent it after.
View 21 Replies View RelatedI'm using a desire, which is fantastic but I've got one issue. Using the default music player - just called 'Music' when I play an album the tracks seem to play in a random order. The player seems to be reading tags properly , correct track names and artwork etc and if I look at a tracks properties in the player software I can see that it is reading track number info. I don't know if there is a setting I have got wrong but it would be great to get songs playing in right order. Other than this the Desire is great.

View 2 Replies View RelatedFirst time poster and long time reader. First off I got the Captivate today and love it. I had the Aria and took it back and got this today. I just have a couple of questions. I will list them so it doesn't get confusing.
1. I saw in a few reviews that the battery has standby time of over a month and is generally very good and is a big part of why I bought the phone. That being said, since a full charge at 2:00pm, I am currently (9:00pm) in the yellow on my battery with normal use (ie minimal web browsing, 4 phone calls all under 2 minutes, about 10 total texts and 3 downloaded apps, and just browsing the phones features all while having a task manager). Should I just charge it after a few days and see where I am at?
2. My house usually gives me a pretty good signal but for some reason, I only have 1-2 bars in most of the areas. However, I seem to still be able to do things such as make phone calls with no bars. As for the "death grip", I also have held the phone with a case on it and the signal diminished very quickly which concerns me. A steady 2-3 bars I would be fine with, but 1 bar is unacceptable.
3. Timestamps on text messages are wrong just like they were on the Aria. It is a minor thing but it bugs the hell out of me.
Overall the phone is awesome but I buy a phone for two reasons, number one it has to be a good phone (call quality and reception) and number two it must have an above average battery (7 hours with minimal usage concerns me). I hope I am just overreacting but these are issues I think should be talked about.
I really appreciate the threaded messages in android phones but i have a strange experience with it once in a while. When you text back and forth you get all these messages in like a chat form following the order of the conversation but sometimes i would all get my messages in a cluster while the response of my friend would be thrown somewhere in the beginning or at the end. I have no problem with sending and receiving but they sometimes don't come in the right order. I don't know if i have explained myself well or if you guys can see my problem.

The one displayed in the widget with the weather is displaying the correct time but the one in the top right corner is showing as being 1 hour behind. I have tried using manual and auto settings for the time but all this does is change the time in the widget.
Probably something really simple but cannot figure out how to get them displaying the same.
I received a couple of text messages from Vodafone today, and the Messages app showed the sender as one of my personal contacts! It happened to be the last contact that I edited in the People app, and seems like a bug. Has anyone else seen this? this is on an unlocked Desire bought from mobiles.co.uk.
View 5 Replies View RelatedCurrently running DeFroST 6.0 forHTC desire (AOSP FRG83 + CyanogenMod). I rooted using unrevoked 3. I installed defrost 5.9via Rom manager then upgraded to 6.0 via defrost settings.

when I run bootloader I see 'no image' and 'wrong image' messages displayed
I am unable to delete stock apps that came with the defrost Rom. In root explorer I mount r /w and delete an app. Confirm delete message shows up. But when I exit app is still there in the drawer functioning normally.
I was told this could be because NAND is locked. I understand that it should be unlocked when the unrevoked root was performed. I suspect that the error message - not enough space I saw in recovery might have something to do with the NAND setting.
Before I installed defrost 5.9 I tried to install the cyanogen 6 Rom via Rom manager. I saw 'not enough space. On device' or something similar (can't remember exactly) displayed in recovery. i think this might have something to do wit NAND setting as well
btw my desire is CDMA. Can any body shed some light on this. im a newb so simple terms please
I have tried the default music player that is installed with the Droid-X. I've also bought the bTunes player and installed the MixZing player (free version). What is wrong that, by default, all list the tracks of an album in alphabetical order? At least bTunes will let you optionally sort by original track order (although the way given by bTunes is counter-intuitive and you have to start playing a track before you can sort).
By default, all albums should display in original track order. I suppose that for those who have difficulty reading, perhaps an option to list tracks in alphabetical order might be in order for ADA compliance or something. Otherwise, when I browse one of my albums, I want to see it in the order that the original artist intended.
Im trying to do some testing with a QVGA emulator and I find that it looks for an image resource in the mentioned order.

drawable-hdpi 2nd
drawable-ldpi 3rd (it does get found only after i change the name of the image in the other two dirs for testing)
I would expect it to be ldpi first.
When running other emulators (HVGA and WVGA) they use their appropriate drawable dirs... its only QVGA. The only code that I see could affect this is here (based on the docs)
I have tested this with a 2.0 emulator and a 1.6, i get the same result.
When I make a nandroid the time it says it was made is about 6 or 7 hours ahead of the actual time. Is there a way to fix this?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an issue on my new Captivate where the text messages don't appear in order. It seems it only sorts them by a minute time stamp versus seconds. It's not an issue if they are more than a minute apart, but if I get a text say at 4:30:01 and send a reply at 4:30:15 and get a reply back at 4:30:45, it will put my outgoing text on top followed by the 2 text I received below that. Where it should be received text, reply text, and receive text. Not sure if that made sense or not, but if you were to number them 1,2,3 in order of actual time, it's listing them in 2,1,3 order. It's not a huge deal but it's annoying to me. My iPhone did not do this. Is there a fix for this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I get picture messages, they show up in my SMS stream with that person but in the completely wrong spot. They usually show a received time of HOURS before I actually got it, so it shows way in the middle of the stream somewhere. This is also true for messages I send.

Does any one else have this issue? Is there a setting I'm missing? When I click on the clock it brings me to World Clock. The Current time is three hours behind, the Home time and New York time are both correct.

The time stamp for received messages when using Handcent, is off by 4 hours. I've tried changing the "set time stamp offset" to -4 hours but it did not help.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSince updating to 4.3 both my and my girlfriend's Nexus 4 clock keeps jumping back 8 hours. Then corrects itself. Then goes wrong again, a few times per hour.
We bought the phones in the UK where there is an 8 hour time difference.
When we look at clock it says UK time is actually Los Angeles and Los Angeles is UK. It swaps them, which makes no sense.
Turning auto time zone off makes no difference, it's getting it from AT&T directly.
I'm starting to get into networking on android and I was wondering what the requirements are to setup a simple messaging application. Do I need to host a central server somewhere to have two people connect to in order to receive messages? Are there any examples on how to go about doing this?

On Saturday, all of a sudden the clock is off by 5 hours but showing the correct location. I restarted my phone and the correct time would show up, but as soon as the phone sleeps and I wake it up, the clock is off by 5 hours again!!! I checked the settings for the clock and it is set to the network time and gps for current location. I had to download a clock widget off the market because I could not figure it out. Anyone?
