I have enabled the notification LED on my Desire for all events. And it starts blinking. But it blinks for 5 minutes only, then goes off. Same thing on Hero. There is no entry to specify how long to blink. I want the LED to blink until I turn the phone on. Otherwise it is useless.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI did a series of upgrades these days (HTC software, googles, updates, etc) and now all my google calendar reminders start 10 minutes before they should. I went to the calendar settings and marked the "default reminder time" as "on time", but whenever I'm creating a new event the reminder is set to 10 minutes before as default...which forces me to change it back to "on time" always.
View 1 Replies View RelatedEver since updating to Kitkat, my phone either beeps, or if I put notifications on silent, it vibrates, every 5 minutes. It's very annoying and I can't find the cause. I now have to have my vibrations turned off too so I don't know when I'm getting a text any more. I did have a problem during the update and had to take my phone to the Sprint store and they did a hard reset. I'm using a galaxy S4 on Sprint.

I got my first bill today and Ive gone over my minutes and a nice bill of 39 extra! Is there a widget to monitor how many minutes i have used. I have a similar one for Internet usage but cant find one for out going calls.

I've rooted it and all but I dont have a backup of the original recovery and unrooted stock ROM (for telus). Today it felt like it was going to catch on fire while it was in my pocket (it wasnt being used as I was in the middle of a class). I figure that I cant wait any longer for Telus to release an update that would allow me to unroot my phone so can anyone who has a stock telus desire please send me a backup of their stock ROM!

View 18 Replies View RelatedI've had my Desire over a month now, we've had some teething problems but this is the most consistent one - there's no call waiting notification on my phone. I've missed about 3 calls and several texts while in another call, but my phone doesn't give me any indication that there is something else going on.
Some cursory googling found that other people have had their Desire make weird noises instead of a call waiting tone, but mine has nothing at all. Anyone have this happen to them or any ideas how to fix it? Although I'm fairly happy around technology I'm not too keen to root my phone, what with warranties and insurance and stuff.
Recently my Desires orange notification light when I get a message used to blink but now has stopped and I haven't changed any settings anybody knows why this is?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm new to these forums as I'm very new to using an HTC Desire Android phone. As a previous iPhone owner I was a little nervous to port over but, I've been extremely pleased with my new android handset and OS. However one thing has been driving me crazy. The other day i decided to ring my voice mail and found that I had 3 missed voice mails. No where on the home screen of my phone or settings screens or anywhere else I looked on my phone was I notified of my Voice Mails. I rely quite heavily on accessing my Voice mails as the building I work in has terrible reception. In the past using my iPhone I could enter an area of the building that had better reception and the notification would arrive. I need this functionality, especially as at the moment I'm trying to get a new job, I'd be a little upset if I were to miss a golden opportunity due to no voice mail notification. I tried a few tests with my handset to make sure I wasn't loosing the plot and sure enough I do not receive any notification for my missed calls or as I mentioned earlier no reception problem straight to voice mail. The idea of having to phone 901 every time i need to check my voice mails seems a little absurd, this is 2010 surely as it is primarily first and foremost a phone I would suspect that you would be able to have this functionality. I've searched the net and there's not much talk on how to fix this problem. Sure there's talk on use an App but I'd like that as my last resort really.
This may or may not have been mentioned on these forums, I have done a search before hand and results were blank so I apologies if this has been covered. Please Please Please any one here with infinite wisdom on this matter would be a breath of fresh air.
After the phone boots up and Im looking at my home screen, the phone stays locked up for about 2 minutes before I can start using it. Is this normal? Everything runs fine after that, but it seems to take a long time. I am using Launcher Pro, but didn't have this problem before. The SD card icon is displayed in the status bar the whole time its locked up also.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have an AT&T Samsung Note 3 SM-N900A running Android 4.3 (baseband version N900AUCUBMJ5, kernel v3.4.0-1625098). I rooted it using Kingo, installed Tasker (with Secure Settings plugin), and created 2 profiles: one with a 'Home' location context, and one with a 'Work' location context. In the 'Location Edit' map screen for each, I set a pinned location w/ a radius of 200m. I also de-select 'GPS' (leaving only 'NET'), since I don't want GPS enabled all the time (to extend battery life). I confirm that these work when I'm actively using the phone.. the profile becomes active when I'm at the specified location (as expected). I know it's active because it's displayed in the Notification Panel (and it's also shown in green in the Tasker profiles list).
The issue I'm having is that after ~10 minutes of idle time (i.e. when the display is off and I'm not using the phone), I find that the profile is no longer active when I turn the display back on and start using the phone again. I confirmed that this *doesn't* happen after 1 minute, 2 minutes, nor 5 minutes, only > 10. I also confirmed that it happens for both profiles consistently. However, as soon as I start Tasker again from the Apps Drawer (or from Recent Apps screen), the profile is immediately activated again, and my Enter task is re-run.
I enabled the run log in Tasker prefs, but it basically shows a clean activation of the profile (with no warnings or anything that looks weird to me).
I know there's a 10-minute timeout in the Display Off Monitoring prefs, but that doesn't seem to be related to my issue. I tried reducing the All Checks Seconds from 600 to 90, rebooted the phone, and it still took ~10 minutes before the profile would become inactive after the phone being idle.
If I change my plans minutes, will I lose my unlimited data package I have on my Droid?

I am running Villainrom 1.0.0 on my desire for just under a week now and since the second day of having the new rom I keep getting "Low on Space" notifications. I've tried to clear all the cache and remove apps that I don't need but still keep getting these errors. My device is only showing that I have 147MB of memory when I thought these devices had 512MB? I've spoken to other non-rooted desire users and they say they have never had this problem. Its a little frustrating that I need to keep removing applications and stuff.

I have chompSMS and it says that the notification light can be lots of different colours. I have tried changing this but it always comes out green.

I'm getting on great with the phone, it is one stunning piece of kit.
I do have an issue with the stock email client/widget. I've got it all set up to pull down any new messages every 10 minutes and I've set up the peak/off-peak times, etc.
What I don't get are any notifications for emails that I receive overnight when the phone is switched off. I can switch it on in the morning and leave it for as long as I want, but still don't see the new emails appear until I start up the email client.
After the client has been run I get email notifications without any problem.
I connect to my own IMAP server and have Google Mail sync disabled.
Took delivery of my new HTC Desire yesterday and as a first impression, I like it, just a lot to get used to!
My first question that springs to mind, is that whilst a conversation view is handy and can see the benefit, is there any way to turn it OFF and instead have a standing SMS Inbox style, each received message having it's own entry so you can just open and view it? (like SMS inboxes on most normal phones?).
and my Second questions .. I have it set so the LED flashes if I've had a message when away from the phone (handy when on silent), BUT, when the charger is plugged in the orange LED is lit, and the LED doesn't flash, so you have no idea there's a message/notification there waiting for you, unless you keep pressing the power button to check, which isn't ideal as it can get a bit OCD "have a got a new message ... no ... what about now ... no .. oooo now?" and so on .. so not sure if there's a setting I've missed, or if thats just the normal behaviour when it's plugged in charging!
first of all I don't know if it is HTC's fault of Android's fault. I think it is Android's fault, Ok, yesterday my girlfriend send me SMS. As you all know that the little led flashes for a couple of minutes and then switches off. Hence, I missed that SMS. I was in a meeting So I came from the meeting, took all my gear and left in hurry because I didn't want anyone to stop me and start talking about yada yada yada on my way back to gym. Hence, I didn't check my SMS. She called me which I failed to see as I was in gym and then in shower. Then I went out with buddies to local bar. She tried to send me SMS again which I again failed to see. Now at 21:00, she arrived unexpectedly at my home when I just arrived back a couple of minutes before. Long story short, I was being interrogated that why I didn't see her missed call and missed SMS? As I was aware of lack of SMS/missed call notification, I decided not to tell the truth as she probably wouldn't understand. Fortunately, I had this broken phone prank installed in my phone which I ran and showed her that my phone was broken. I had some stone age Samsung before (BGH-100 or something) which wouldn't shut up till I would see the message. I also had Eten M700 whose led will keep blinking like a nagging wife till I would see the screen.Tell me how can I solve this problem? how to make that tiny little led keep blinking till I see the SMS or I see the missed call? Also, how can I make phone "beep" about missed SMS after every 5 minutes? I am afraid that us men are going to face a lot of interrogations from their lovers at home.
View 24 Replies View RelatedOn my desire I have a mp3 set as my notification ringtone so that I can check my email as soon as it is received. The problem is that the mp3 rings out for a couple of minutes which can be really annoying if my phones locked in my pocket.
I have been trying to find a way that I can silence a notification without having to unlock the phone, put in my password and then open the notification bar. Is there a way to have the phone mute the notification ring tone if i move the phone or something like that?
There was this really cool app on s60 called "best reminder" - which every time you got a text you coud tell it to keep giving audio and vibrate notifications every X number of minutes till you acknowleged the alert
very handy if you missed the original alert sound with SMS popup on android you can do just that for sms alerts BUT is there an app that will do this with all notifications - not just sms but twitter alerts email alerts etc?
I get a notification when the USB is plugged in. Does anyone know where to change this. Just can't seem to find it.
