View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I get a notification, like an email or text, I want the phone to vibrate for like 15 seconds in like pulses of 3. It will vibrate a fair amount if the volume is on, but when I put the phone to vibrate only, the ONLY thing that vibrates is the ringer. I find this to be a general annoyance with Android I think. Anyone know a way I can customize the vibration settings for notifications (text, email, etc) when the phone is on silent (vibrate only)?

View 5 Replies View RelatedAs the title says really, I cannot get my Hero to vibrate when I get a text message. In Messages > Settings > Vibrate, the option is ticked but even if I untick / restart / retick it still doesn't work. I've also tried pressing the volume button down to vibrate mode and back again but that makes no difference.I've even tried working with Handcent and yet I still cannot get the vibrate working. Everything else works such as the status bar notification but that's it.The vibrate part is definitely working for phone calls and other apps so I don't think that it's a hardware problem. Any idea what could be causing it? I'm using the latest official UK Orange ROM.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI like to set my phone to vibrate so incoming calls will vibrate, but then like to configure so that incoming emails and texts do not vibrate. My gmail does this correctly but any text app I use (currently hello sms) will vibrate even though I uncheck the box for that in settings. I'm using a Nexus 5 and 4.4.2 based rom. Is there a fix for this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I never had this problem before, and I don't know what I may have changed that started it. Before my eris would play the notification sound within a second of the vibration. Now, my phone lags for about 2 or 3 seconds, vibrating first, then ringing. use the native SMS program, and I don't want to have to download any new apps like chompSMS or anything, I just want my phone to start working again.
View 8 Replies View RelatedIs anyone familiar with the following problem. When my Hero receives a new email, the flashball notifices me about it, but the notification sound and vibrate do not work even though I have them both checked in the settings (the sound is also selected). However, when I receive a new sms message, all of them work perfectly.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI can't get a little vibration when I receive an email/text message when the phone is set to vibrate mode? I'm the kind of guy who likes to set his phone to vibrate, put it in his pocket, and only (or mostly) take it out when a notification arrives.
View 18 Replies View RelatedI'll be talking on the phone and might receive a text message or gmail from someone. My phone immediately vibrates twice to notify me. Not only is this unpleasant when I have the phone to my ear, but it's also an annoyance to the person I'm talking to as they hear the vibrate sounds. In fact any time I'm talking to my girlfriend and my phone vibrates, she asks "who is texting you now?" I really just want the notification turned off while I'm on a call. Is there a way to prevent this from happening while on the phone?
View 5 Replies View RelatedProbably a stupid question but where do I go in the phone menu to turn off Vibrate when a New SMS comes in?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there a way for me to set vibrate to a single vibrate (instead of two) and even change the color of the LED notification on my phone for SMS without downloading SMS Chomp or Handcent?
Any other app will do...
I miss the BlackBerry Led notifications....
I also tried Missed reminder....didnt work...
I just got the HTC Incredible and one of the things I haven't been able to figure out is how to set incoming phone calls to vibrate, yet play the notification sound. None of the profiles seems to make that combination happen. If I switch it to silent, no sound or vibrations happen for calls or notifications. In the vibrate profile, both calls and notifications only vibrate. In normal mode, I can't get calls to vibrate only. If I slide the call ringer volume all the way down and slide notification volume up, it switches it to silent mode. If I have call ringer volume up one notch from silent, it still plays the ringtone. Is this something I can accomplish or do I have to have silent calls only if I still want notifications played?

View 1 Replies View RelatedJust got my Fascinate and want to know if there is a way to have my phone audible/vibrate alert me when a text message comes in while I am on a voice call. I left my daughter sitting at school for 30mins the other night since I didn't see the message until I hung up from my voice call! If I can't find a way to have this feature I might have to switch to the X!

View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there any way of changing the settings for the Vibrate profile so it makes a small beep when it rings or you get a message. The items are all greyed out. I use it when I have my headphones in or on a train and would like a small noise to let me know if I have a call or message.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to get a simple vibration working and according to the api docs(http://developer.android.com/reference/android/os/Vibrator.html) all I need to use is this: public void vibrate (long milliseconds)
Turn the vibrator on. Parameters milliseconds How long to vibrate for.
However the behavior I am seeing is not what is described. Instead of a number of milliseconds, it seems this parameter translates into an "intensity"?
I tried: vibrator.vibrate(200);
And I got a sustained vibration which didn't stop until I exited my app. Initially I thought perhaps the api docs were wrong and the parameter was seconds, not milliseconds, so I tried: vibrator.vibrate(2);
This time I got the same behavior, i.e. continuous vibration, but the vibration was very gentle.. almost in-perceptible. This leads me to conclude that the parameter translates into an intensity, not a time.
Is it possible that this is a "feature" of the particular device? In my case HTC Desire.
I'm running 2.1 as my crappy telco hasn't distributed an update to 2.2, but it worries me that this behavior may differ from device to device.
