HTC Desire : Notification When The USB Is Plugged In
May 19, 2010I get a notification when the USB is plugged in. Does anyone know where to change this. Just can't seem to find it.

Sprint HTC Hero :: When USB Plugged In I Get No Notification
Apr 13, 2010When I plug in my new HERO it does not give me notification to mount, I do get notification to find HCT sync. I have tried on mac, boot camp and regular Windows machine running vista. I have had a moment and the hero in the past and have rooted but Just can figure this out.

Aug 6, 2010I have my headphones plugged in (yes they're plugged all the way in), I get an email/text/gtalk notification. The notification sound comes through both my headphones and the rear speaker. What's up with that, I'd like for all sound to come through the headphones when they're plugged in.

Sep 6, 2010I've heard that today's batteries' health depends on how many cycles they have gone through, and considering this it should be wise to leave the phone plugged in while fully charged and under heavy use. This way you will delay the cycle and get a "healthier" battery. This was just MY theory and I was not too sure about it. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Oct 5, 2010I've made a nice little dock while I'm at work for keeping my phone upright and flat against a board while plugged in at my desk. This enables me to answer texts by just reaching over and tapping out my reply instead of taking the phone into my hand. What I'm after is an option, app, widget, Anything that will allow my phone to stay on while it's plugged in (sort of like a mini laptop). Right now it goes black after a minute, as it would do if it was on battery.
The only option I can find in the settings is when to turn off the display, which only offers a maximum of 30 minutes and doesn't take into consideration whether you're on battery or charging. It would be preferable if this option existed only while on charge, as I don't want my phone on all the time while on battery, obviously. For what it's worth, my Desire is running 2.2 with the Cyanogenmod 6.0.2 ROM.
HTC Desire :: Popping Sound With Earphones Plugged In
Apr 8, 2010Everytime I start any audio or video there seems to be a pop sound that occurs. It's louder if I happen to pause a track and then resume playing it again. It's still there even if I use my own earphones as well, so I'm thinking it's the handset. It doesn't happen with the speaker, only the 3.5mm jack. I was just wondering if it was a common issue or a problem just with my handset.

Sep 3, 2010phone downloaded 80mb of data over night over 3g (according to 3g watchdog) all of its own accord and the Network History (*#*#4636#*#*) is not any help as the phone was plugged in!
I really wish there was a better way to see which apps are using data, how much and when!
I ph33r it may be an evil plot by Vodafone to force downloads onto my phone to go over the FUP.
HTC Desire :: How To Auto Launch NaviPanel When Plugged In

Desire is not coming with NaviPanel software (unlocked or not) regardless of firmware version so this could mean that we will get an fw update soon (before 5 July) to include the NaviPanel app.
Until then the folks at xda forums managed to get the app to work with Desire and they even modded it to work with brut maps instead of maps.
Since the official car holder is scheduled for launch after a month and a half from now and is going to cost TWICE as much as the Nexus official car holder I'm wondering if it is possible to make any regular charger to trigger the auto launch feature?

Apr 9, 2010When at work I usually have mine plugged into my laptop to charge it up and today I notice that it's getting warm at the back. It's not even been used at all for the last 2 or 3 hours, it's just been sitting there on charge.

Have since discovered that the sensation is only present when plugged in, but NOT charging - i.e. power light is green.

Nov 22, 2010I am running Villainrom 1.0.0 on my desire for just under a week now and since the second day of having the new rom I keep getting "Low on Space" notifications. I've tried to clear all the cache and remove apps that I don't need but still keep getting these errors. My device is only showing that I have 147MB of memory when I thought these devices had 512MB? I've spoken to other non-rooted desire users and they say they have never had this problem. Its a little frustrating that I need to keep removing applications and stuff.

May 10, 2010All was well until I reset my Desire because of the googl email -> gmail change, now I don't get any vibration from email or SMS, etc dispite all the settings being correct for vibration, ie the main settings menu, gmail and SMS setting. Is there a cure for this problem?

HTC Desire :: Email Notification
Jun 30, 2010I'm getting on great with the phone, it is one stunning piece of kit.
I do have an issue with the stock email client/widget. I've got it all set up to pull down any new messages every 10 minutes and I've set up the peak/off-peak times, etc.
What I don't get are any notifications for emails that I receive overnight when the phone is switched off. I can switch it on in the morning and leave it for as long as I want, but still don't see the new emails appear until I start up the email client.
After the client has been run I get email notifications without any problem.
I connect to my own IMAP server and have Google Mail sync disabled.
HTC Desire :: SMS Conversation - Notification LED
May 19, 2010Took delivery of my new HTC Desire yesterday and as a first impression, I like it, just a lot to get used to!
My first question that springs to mind, is that whilst a conversation view is handy and can see the benefit, is there any way to turn it OFF and instead have a standing SMS Inbox style, each received message having it's own entry so you can just open and view it? (like SMS inboxes on most normal phones?).
and my Second questions .. I have it set so the LED flashes if I've had a message when away from the phone (handy when on silent), BUT, when the charger is plugged in the orange LED is lit, and the LED doesn't flash, so you have no idea there's a message/notification there waiting for you, unless you keep pressing the power button to check, which isn't ideal as it can get a bit OCD "have a got a new message ... no ... what about now ... no .. oooo now?" and so on .. so not sure if there's a setting I've missed, or if thats just the normal behaviour when it's plugged in charging!

Jun 28, 2010first of all I don't know if it is HTC's fault of Android's fault. I think it is Android's fault, Ok, yesterday my girlfriend send me SMS. As you all know that the little led flashes for a couple of minutes and then switches off. Hence, I missed that SMS. I was in a meeting So I came from the meeting, took all my gear and left in hurry because I didn't want anyone to stop me and start talking about yada yada yada on my way back to gym. Hence, I didn't check my SMS. She called me which I failed to see as I was in gym and then in shower. Then I went out with buddies to local bar. She tried to send me SMS again which I again failed to see. Now at 21:00, she arrived unexpectedly at my home when I just arrived back a couple of minutes before. Long story short, I was being interrogated that why I didn't see her missed call and missed SMS? As I was aware of lack of SMS/missed call notification, I decided not to tell the truth as she probably wouldn't understand. Fortunately, I had this broken phone prank installed in my phone which I ran and showed her that my phone was broken. I had some stone age Samsung before (BGH-100 or something) which wouldn't shut up till I would see the message. I also had Eten M700 whose led will keep blinking like a nagging wife till I would see the screen.Tell me how can I solve this problem? how to make that tiny little led keep blinking till I see the SMS or I see the missed call? Also, how can I make phone "beep" about missed SMS after every 5 minutes? I am afraid that us men are going to face a lot of interrogations from their lovers at home.

Nov 3, 2010On my desire I have a mp3 set as my notification ringtone so that I can check my email as soon as it is received. The problem is that the mp3 rings out for a couple of minutes which can be really annoying if my phones locked in my pocket.
I have been trying to find a way that I can silence a notification without having to unlock the phone, put in my password and then open the notification bar. Is there a way to have the phone mute the notification ring tone if i move the phone or something like that?

Apr 16, 2010There was this really cool app on s60 called "best reminder" - which every time you got a text you coud tell it to keep giving audio and vibrate notifications every X number of minutes till you acknowleged the alert
very handy if you missed the original alert sound with SMS popup on android you can do just that for sms alerts BUT is there an app that will do this with all notifications - not just sms but twitter alerts email alerts etc?

I've tried Handcent and got a blue light for SMS delivery, so clearly it is possible, so why can't any other notification app make use of the other colours? Well I added some more yesterday, went in a changed it to one of those, but it still played my old tone. Sep 30, 2010I'm running 2.1 on the Cellular South East network. I have received a notification that my Desire since is low on space, but I have over 100 mb of free memory. After a bit of research, I read that I should try to clear application caches. I used the application manager but the "clear cache " button for each application is greyed-out. I then read to wait a minute or so to allow all data to load. I waited 3 minutes, but I still couldn't clear any caches. Why I can't clear a cache?

Oct 25, 2010I purchased 2 HTC desire phones and whilst I am happy with them it appears there may be a bug as both phones seem to do it. Occasionally when a text message is received for some reason the notification sound doesnt go off. I have set it up a few times but every time I get a text message, it is he usual green, slow flash - and even then it doesn't always work.
