Aug 8, 2010Did a quick search but came up empty handed. I am looking for an app that allows all of the various notifications to be set on one screen if there is such a thing.

View 4 RepliesI have a none branded/unlocked Desire with firmware version 2.10.405.2, now, there used to be an option in older firmware versions, how old i can't remeber, to enable a sound notification for SD Card events, such as unmounting, mounting, etc, but this option seems to have been removed, at least on my phone, could someone please take a look through thier phone settings and confirm if this option is there, or not, i used to enable this option when connecting to the PC so i would know when the SD Card had unmounted/mounted.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've figured out how to set a ringtone BUT when I try to set a tone to ONLY play when I get a text (sms) that sound is playing for ALL notifications!!!
View 3 Replies View RelatedIs it possible to get a notification when an email comes in that is not the default notification tone or do you I need to use another email program. If so what do you recommend?
View 21 Replies View RelatedI got a soundboard where you can long press one of the sounds and then set it as a notification or a ringtone. I did it and picked notification, but it doesn't seem to take effect.
Is there something I need to do phone wise in the settings to tell it to listen to that sound board?
When I stay in a hotel I like to set my phone to turn off all notifications except the ringer for incoming calls. Is there a quick, easy way to do this? My blackberry Storm had this as an easy to access option.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm try to use a remote URL (like a favicon) for a Notification Icon, however the Constructor for a Notification only accepts a resource id (which is an int), as opposed to something sensical like a FileInputStream. How can I either, define at runtime a new resource id for a stream source, or download an icon to my resources and then dynamically get a resource id?

View 5 Replies View RelatedSo this has happened the pretty much every night Ive owned the Evo. I close out everything on the phone, put it on the charger and make sure the screen is off. When I wake up in the morning, the phone is fully charged but I received a text message at 12:30 AM and my screen has been on ever since. Is there a setting that the screen turns off after a notification while charging?
View 2 Replies View Relatedcan you have separate sounds for email and txt messages? Currently seems to be lumped together.
View 3 Replies View RelatedBack when I got my phone, I transfered an MP3 from the computer to the SD card and selected it as ringtone. it is still there and still works.....but now, after the OTA update, when I go into settings/phone ringtone this sound is not on the list. How do I get it back?
Also, under notifications, in the list of sounds the ones on my SD card are not there. I have a sound stored on the card that I would like to set as the notification. I mounted the card to my computer to verify that these files are indeed on the SD card. The phone just isn't seeing them in the list of available sounds...but, they do play if I go into MP3 or Music app.
I have the zedge app and downloaded ringers and message tones, but when I set them as my defaults, I still get the hero ringer/notification sound instead. How can I stop my phone from doing that so the zedge ringer and notification sounds I choose stay?
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy goal is to set the users notification sound from a file that is stored onto the SD card from with in the application. I am using this code:
CODE:.........
When I run this on the device I keep getting the error:
CODE:.................
I have seen others using this technique and I can't find any documentation on which values actually need to be passed in to successfully add the file into the Android system so that it can be set as a notification.
On the Nexus One (at least in 2.1-update1, and I think in 2.1), there is a setting under Sound & Display: "Pulse notification light". This doesn't seem to be present on the "2.1 with Google APIs" emulator image. I've not yet checked any other devices. I want to set this programmatically without user interaction, in order to make a Locale plugin, so the device can grab my attention when I'm awake at my desk, without having it floodlighting the room when someone spams me at 4am. It's quite bright.
I didn't see it in android.provider.Settings.System where many other things on this screen live, so I had a look in the platform source. There are some relevant parts in NotificationManagerService, in enqueueNotificationWithTag and updateLightsLocked. That goes off into HardwareService which seems well past the point of caring about user settings. I've no idea where this setting is implemented or how I might influence it. I fully expect the answer to be "there is no API for this" (perhaps related to it being Nexus One specific), and that the best I can do is to schedule (using Locale or something else) an Intent of ACTION_DISPLAY_SETTINGS to remind me to set the box manually, which would suck. I'm hoping that I've missed something, or that a Googler is reading this and can tell me that this is planned for addition to the API?
I love my Hero! There is however, one setting on my Blackberry that I did like that I haven't been able to duplicate on my Hero. There was a setting on the Blackberry while sleeping, the phone would be the only thing to ring or make nose. Email notifications, etc., would be silent. Is there any quick setting or app to do this on Hero?
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen the phone is "sleeping" and a message comes through, I hear the notification. I don't see the flashing light (even though I have that turned on for everything) and the screen does not come on.
Is there a setting that I am missing?
Is there a way to add common system setting into the notification pull down menu?
On my old Samsung Galaxy S3, when you swipe down from the top of the screen and pull down notifications, at the top above notifications are buttons for common system settings to access (in order they are: Wi-Fi, GPS, Sound, Rotation, Bluetooth, Smart Stay, Airplane Mode, Power Saving, Hands-free mode, Screen Mirroring)
This was very useful because was easy to quickly access key functions. For example "1) swipe down and 2) press WiFi to turn on/off" or "1) swipe down and 2) press GPS to turn location on/off".
On my new Nexus 5 this functionality does not exist. When you swipe down to see notifications, key system buttons are not present. Instead there is a single system button in the upper right corner which you need to press to for common system settings (Brightness, Settings, WiFi, Mobile [ATT/Verizon], Battery, Airplane Mode, Bluetooth, Location)
This means to access common system settings requires an extra step. For example "1) swipe down, 2) press system button and 3) press WiFi to access WiFi page"
Is there a way to put these common system setting into the notification pull down menu?
Out of curiosity could anyone with a Desire let me know if their SMS app settings are the same as mine Unbranded Desire on the Orange network. In 'Manage Applications' if I look at the stock HTC SMS app (Messages) the 'Launch by default' section is greyed out and says 'No defaults set'.Same thing when I look at the 'Application info' for Handcent. The problem this is causing me is that I can't set a 'default' SMS app in the GOTO lock screen app. A pop up should launch in the GOTO app asking me to set a default but it doesn't and so I can only use the stock SMS app with the GOTO lockscreen.Spoke to the developer about it and he thinks it's an issue specific to the Desire so out of curiosity I'm keen to know if other Desires have the same default settings as mine mentioned above.

View 12 Replies View RelatedIs there an app or setting to force the phone to "wake up" when a new notification comes in (gmail, sms, calendar, etc...). I find it easy to miss notifications when the phone is locked and it would be nice for the screen to turn on when a new notification is received.

View 4 Replies View Relatedso I'm new to the whole Smartphone thing (my last phone didn't even go on the internet!) so I don't know if I'm missing something really obvious but anyway. I'm trying to se up both my hotmail and yahoomail email accounts so as I can view my messages on my Desire but I'm not having any luck. When I go into Messages and enter my email and correct password I keep getting the message: 'Cannot connect to the mail server to verify your account information. Your server is not responding'.What do I have to do to sort this out? The HTC Desire online manual is very vague and brief with anything regarding troubleshooting.
