View 7 RepliesMy HTC Sense is force closing every 5 minutes or so. I have battery pulled, uninstalled software, etc. I am about to do a factory reset but is there any software that is known to cause this problem (so I can avoid it on the second go around)?
Note: It appears to happen when i go to 'change the scene' to something else. When the screen reloads it just goes into an endless cycle of 'HTC Sense Force Close'.
I am having a pretty annoying issue that just started tonight. My phone died on me due to the awesome battery life of the hero, upon recharging it and turning it back on as soon as it starts to boot up it gives me the HTC sense force close error and won't let me go any farther. That's all it will do, I've tried turning it off and pulling the battery but to no avail.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs anyone experiencing a lot of force closes for the calender app on the Hero? I've tried inputting some info 3 times now and each time it is closing. Has anyone else run into this or does anyone know of a solution?
View 4 Replies View Relatedsince the latest stable, and now the 133 full, it seems like 5 or 6 times a day im getting LPP force closes. Anyone else getting this or know of a way to fix this? Could there be something Im doing to cause this? Just to clarify, it happens when trying to hit an icon, as well as when trying to close an app with the back button. In the past, I have hit the home button to exit out, but since made an attempt to change my habits, as it seems hitting home keeps the app running.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI'm on Orange and have the new ROM. Ever since it was installed I am getting force close errors on the Calendar service when I try and run the Android calendar. I get the error when I clock the calendar icon and then it is OK when I try a second time. I use Quick Calendar as well to provide a widget with next 2 appointments on - sometimes this report calendat service not found. All my appointments are synced from Outlook (not Exchange). Anyone else getting these force closes?
View 3 Replies View RelatedHas anyone else been unable to sync your Hero due to a force close of the pc_synchronisation?
My PC finds my phone without a problem, HTC Sync runs fine on my PC, the sync runs for about 10-15% until the pc_synchronisation force close pops up on my hero and the sync fails on my PC with the error mobile connection time out
I can find a lot of queries/answers about HTC Sync problems on PCs but I can't find anyone having the problem from the Hero side of the sync.
I'm running Windows Vista, have restarted PC and/or phone so many times and done a factory reset on the phone (which was a real pain and not something I fancy doing again!)
As the only thing I'm left with is that the sync software is faulty in the HTC and I'm facing sending the phone away or getting a new one - neither of which appeals
I use the calendar app for everything..(standard calendar app) and lately i have been getting alot of force closes after entering an event...i was putting in my softball schedule and after 2 or so games, it would force close...i have had this phone for over a month now and it just now started to do this...any ideas on a fix for this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo i partitioned my SD card per the instructions listed on Flipz site and it was working flawlessly! I couldn't believe it! Then I had to reboot, and that's when the Force Closes started and the phone started dragging like a dog. I'm using a Class 2 card, so that may explain the lag, but why the FCs?
I'm hoping I'm still able to use Apps2SD successfully and that a wipe/restore will fix this, because there just isn't a lot of internal memory to play with.
Fresh 2.1 is out now though, so I may just say screw it and start new. I just don't want to have to set the phone up again and reinstall apps.
I have noticed several times that after updating an application in the Market, the app will never work again. This has happened with Pandora, Key Ring Finder, Audio Manager and countless other apps. With some other apps, after updating the application, it will work fine, but the name will change to something odd like com.chompsms.Well, i was reading through Key Ring Finder update and realized that something is occuring specifically with the HTC Hero that is causing this with application updates. But there is a ::drum roll please:: workaround! When updating an app, do not select the 'update' option! This is where the programs become corrupt. Instead, click 'uninstall', then reinstall the application. The freshly installed copy will work perfectly!
View 4 Replies View RelatedWith my old phone I got into the habit of racking up thousands of messages before I bothered to delete them all. I have done this on my phone and now when I go to delete the thread it crashes and eventually forces me to close! It does this every time and as a result the messages keep building up.

View 2 Replies View RelatedJust an FYI - don't update to the latest Facebook App version. It force closes every time even after reboots & reinstalls.
View 10 Replies View RelatedSo I did the upgrade at home, no problem, then loaded My Back up from the market, and reloaded my apps and data from my SD card. I got all the way to load HTC home (109 items). At item 107, force closed pops up. Now when it goes to load the home page it's an endless cyle of forced closed.
Took it to the Sprint store, nothing they can do but reload the 2.1, come back in 2 hours . I do, go home and run threw all these steps again, but this time without loading the task killer app (store recomendation). Same results!
I have seen people complaining of the same issue, but I have yet to find a fix. I just flashed Fresh Hero 2.3.3 and every inbound call force closes. I came from a clean root, I flashed the stock RUU and rooted and then flashed Fresh. I have tried all the kernels they say fix this and none do. Any ideas? Or should I give up v2.3.3 and go back to Toast? Don't want to leave Fresh, it's the best ROM I have found yet!
View 22 Replies View RelatedI have had a Sprint HTC Hero for a while and I absolutely love it, but when my messages get over only a couple 100 or even less, I will be sending a message or reading one and the messages app will force close and then when I come back to my messages, they are all deleted. I also often have to restart the phone just to get the messages to work again. At first I just thought of this as a way the hero refreshes itself, but I have been missing things and losing messages all the time lately and it is bothering me.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just put an address on a contact, saved it, and when i went to view address it give me people app FC! What the hell?
Does it just show you the address or does it try to bring up maps or something like it to actually SHOW you the address? If so, that's why, because i removed all that garbage. Running Fresh 2.1.2.
I have to say that this default Application is truly simple and easy to deal with, and that makes it all the more significant in my view. However, I am running into an odd problem, and I would like to see if anyone has had the same experience, and/or could offer their assistance in this matter.
I have linked all of my contacts to their FB profiles, and all seems to work extremely well. However, for reasons beyond my understanding, when I attempt to click on the "Album" icon (To view the photographs of a FB Friend), this App. always makes me go through a "Force Close". This ONLY happens with ONE of my contacts though, as with every other contact I still retain the ability to view their FB Photo Albums. I was thinking that the one contact in question here, possibly has too many photographs for this App. to handle(?), but I can get it to work on a very rare occasion despite such.
I would really like to hear from folks in regard to this issue, because it's puzzling, and somewhat irritating.
I have rebooted, and I have also taken the particular FB profile off of my contact list, and then re-applied it (All to no avail).
Here is the error message:
Just tried to delete a messages thread in the stock sms app that was 480 messages long. It was one thread of about 15 that were saved in my phone from people I communicate with on a regular basis. The phone froze up for about a minute, then message force closed. Opening up the messages app again reveals All of my threads have been wiped clean.

View 25 Replies View RelatedI believe I accidentally (as a dumb noob) deleted the TelephonyProvider.apk and the Sprint_Promotion.apk apps. I got them on my SD card and have been trying unsuccessfully to reinstall them all night on package installer but I keep getting this wonderful "process com.android.phone" force close message. I managed to get my phone into airplane mode thinking if I disconnected it from the internet I could stop the error messages and do the installs off my SD card but to no avail. I'm trying to do it through Package Installer.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI own an xperia mini pro and I can replicate the issue always now. When I get an incoming call while the screen is off, if you slide out the keyboard (without opening the screen lock), immediately I get a Force close error for com.android.phone. I have Lookout Mobile security along with SayMyName installed. I have tried removing both, but the problem does not seem to go off. I am using Zeam as my home screen. On FC, SayMyName continues to call out the caller (or number if its not recognized), but the phone application crashes and on closing the FC pop up, the GSM mobile connection reinitiates (I am not in 3G).
Its just like when you switch on the phone after a shutdown. I have even tried changing home screen (ADW same problem), but seems like this issue persists. The problem is I keep my phone in a pouch attached to my belt and when I get a call, many times while bringing out the phone, the sliding of the keyboard happens and I get an FC. Then, there is no way to make out who had called and its very irritating (the call log does not register the call due to the FC).
Well I have issues. I always think that my phone isn't running the way it should or could. I have installed many apps and uninstalled a couple. But I have noticed that my browser will force close about every other time I use it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIt seems recently that Pandora refuses to work, its always "unexpectedly stopped working and force close" etc etc. Any suggestions why?
View 5 Replies View RelatedMy HTC Hero keeps crashing and not sure what the heck is going on. It happens when I am in the middle of a phone call. It just locks up and can not do anything about it. I have to take the back off and remove the battery. Then I replace the battery and power on the Android logo comes up but the little robot doesn't. I have to then take the battery out again and redo the power cycle.
Does anyone have ANY idea why this happening?
For the very first time, and I have like anyone who purchased its EVO on June 4th until July 3rd to return/exchange EVO for a new one.
This is what is happening. I love my EVO, and I will never return this phone for another phone (non-Evo). I already paid my 1st bill with Sprint anyway.
For the past 3-4 days I have been getting some "force close" messages because EVO gets "stuck" in trying to open something/app/do something.
When I play "Jewellust Xmas", the volume goes out. It does this about 7 times of 10 times I might play game.
Now, it may be the game itself, but my girlfriend has the exact game on her HTC Incredible and it has never happened with her. That makes me believe it's my EVO.
I try to open some apps, do something, and the EVO doesn't respond and gets stuck and I am getting those "force close" message.
Does anyone else have had same experience?
Sometimes I have to remove battery because EVO won't do anything. It just get stuck.
I just turned ON EVO and I saw the "light leakage" people are talking about. I can live with that. That doesn't bother me.
I have hardware 002, and I am thinking about exchanging for another one, and hopefully they have hardware 003, and people are going crazy here saying it is different than 002 (battery, leakage, etc)
The only bad thing is that I just put the Steinheil screen protector yesterday, and thankfully you get two when you order them. So one will go to waste if I return this one.
How is that possible? I thought you had until July 5th to get those pre-order ones.
DM (process com.hetc.android.omadm. service) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. The above shows up when I got the phone. I have to Force Close it. Any idea what is going on?
