After the phone boots up and Im looking at my home screen, the phone stays locked up for about 2 minutes before I can start using it. Is this normal? Everything runs fine after that, but it seems to take a long time. I am using Launcher Pro, but didn't have this problem before. The SD card icon is displayed in the status bar the whole time its locked up also.

Last week I forced the OTA 2.2 for droid and now my phone is almost unusable. It was "kinda laggy" right after the update but now it is a 2 second delay just to get numbers to type in on the dial pad. It makes me wish I had waited.
I did notice that EVERYTHING is starting in the background when I look at my task killer. If I kill everything then it runs smooth for maybe 30 secs before everything starts back up again.
Is my slowness being caused by this or is there something else I can do to make is usable again. I am really hoping that FRG22 fixes this major problem for me as I loved my droid before but almost want to toss it out the window now.
Kills me waiting 5-10 secs for handcent to even startup.
I don't know what has happened with my phone recently. I had flashed ss4.8, ss4.9, lfy 1.9, and now cyanogenmod 6.1 RC3. My phones internet browser has force closed constantly on every ROM I mentioned above. Its never done this before. I can't even hardly load or scroll through a web page and it force closes almost everytime I use the internet for more than 5 mins. The phone itself has been horribly slow too no matter what kernel I use. I noticed something about JIT in the cyanogenmod settings, could this possibly have something to do with it? I have no clue I'm just shooting in the dark but my phone has been almost unusable.

However, this morning when I went to use it, it's accuracy appears to have taken a major nosedive. Hello becomes Bello, this becomes toda, for becomes fue, etc. It's unusable. But when I use it as a regular keyboard by pressing the individual keys, it works fine. This is in portrait mode, btw.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI know this topic has been discussed at length, but in weeks of searching, I can't seem to find any help with my particular problem. I've had my phone since July with no issues whatsoever. It's never been rooted. I got the Froyo update with no issues. I hadn't installed any new apps, just updated the ones I had as normal. Now, after a few minutes of use of basically any program, the phone reboots itself and gets stuck in a boot loop. I've done factory resets, and the phone is now completely stock - the only "extra" thing is my email accounts through Google. I got stuck in a loop last night, powered the phone off through HBoot and let it charge overnight. When I got up this morning, unplugged it, powered it on, within a few minutes, it's rebooting again. It seems if it was a hardware issue, it would've come up before now. I should also mention this happens with our without SD card, after formatting the SD card on the phone and the computer. I hate to say this, but I'm kind of missing the days of BB where I could wipe the OS and start with a clean slate. It almost seems like something in my OS is corrupt, but I haven't messed with that side of the INC to know how to fix it. I just noticed this morning that my signal shows no bars, but I'm able to make calls, texts, etc. Also, it hasn't (knock on wood) rebooted during a phone call, but will immediately after hanging up.
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy phone is almost unusable when its on the charger. my lock screen doesn't like to unlock, my keyboard goes completely nuts. doesn't matter if its the house charger or the car charger or connected to the computer, it gets really unresponsive. it really pisses me off. i have done at least 3 hard resets in the past 3 weeks and it doesn't help. im starting to think it may be launcher pro or something. anyone else have a problem like this while charging?

It's to the point where the phone is almost unusable on 4G unless I am tethering. I am not rooted and running launcher pro. Anyone else experiencing this or know of a fix?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have an older phone (HTC Desire Z / Vision) which is still usable, but it has been extremely slow lately. When I say slow, I mean that applications take 10-30 seconds to open and I often get "application is not responding, force close / wait" windows pop up. I thought it was slow CPU speed, but after running top I find that the problem is spending too much time in IOWAIT status. CPU is overclocked to 1.5 GHz, I am running Cyanogen 7 (newer won't run on this hardware).
I tried installing Seeder and it worked - for about two hours. It was glorious for those two hours, my phone worked! But now it's right back to before, laggy as hell and spending most of its time in IOWAIT.
I ran some benchmarks and got these numbers for disk access speed:
Internal storage write: 3.18 Mbytes/sec
Internal storage read: 15.5 Mbytes/sec
External storage write: 2.69 Mbytes/sec
External storage read: 16.7 Mbytes/sec
I was looking for an application that make two things:
- First, you can't switch off your phone without the password (useful with nexus 4, because you can't unplug the battery without utils)
- You can't restore your phone without the password
These actions could be activated always or by your activating them on a website (like apps that allowed you to locate your phone)
This would be useful if your phone is stolen, you could locate your phone if it's stolen because the the phone wouldn't be switched off or wiped

Brand new Samsung Galaxy Rugby from Rogers, rooted it and began removing bloatware via Titanium Backup. I backed up and uninstalled Samsung Home, then I uninstalled SNS 1.0 without backing up. One of these two are now causing my BRAND NEW phone to not boot up anymore. It just gets stuck at the Samsung loading screen.
I have gone into recovery mode and wiped data and factory reset, which will get me to the Android startup wizard, but after it's completed, it crashes and I get Android with no Home launcher. Completely unusable...
What can I do?! There doesn't seem to be any custom firmwares for this phone yet, so is there something generic I can use to put either stock Android on it or a custom ROM in place of this broken Samsung ROM?
I wish there was something I could do with the launcher backups in my TitaniumBackup folder on my SDcard. I *can* access that...
My phone won't boot into recovery. Will they give me a new phone for this. Or will they get suspicious?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI tried installing Tranquility and must have screwed something up because now my phone won't boot past the Motorola Logo. It's been sitting here like this for about 15min and I can't even boot into recovery by holding the power and home buttons. I don't know what else to do now. Idk if my phone is bricked but even if it is don't I need the SBF file to unbrick it and I can't find that file any where. I did a nand backup or whatever before doing any of this so hopefully that can help me. What should I do now?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI tried using my navigation today to get to a snake call and the it just kept giving me the message Locating GPS. Luckily I had written down some directions before I left. But after over 30 minutes of driving, it never got a GPS lock. I have been keeping the GPS on all the time now because it has been getting worse and worse. At this point, it is about useless for navigation. Any ideas? This is a function that I REALLY need and I need it to work fast and on the fly.
View 5 Replies View RelatedSo I got my X yesterday. about 20 minutes in to downloading my apps the phone locks up and goes into a boot loop. I was having a mini panic attack right there in the middle of Sam's club! I finally get into the menu and perform a facotry reset. Problem solved? No It powers back up and as I'm going thru the activation process, the phone reboots again! WTF! I wait for it to come back on and I finally get it activated. Well as I'm going thru the menu checking the settings it reboots AGAIN. So all in all last night it randomly rebooted about 15 times while I was doing something different almost everytime.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy battery seems to do alright but one thing that has really been bugging me is that every time my battery gets to 30/20% it dies almost instantly lasting no more than 15 minutes from normal usage (texting, checking email).
Is this normal or is mine a bad battery or a battery gone bad rather? Thing is the battery lasts a long except for the last quarter of the battery. I've never seen my battery hit any values below 20% except 5% which is when it turns off immediately after.Call for a replacement battery or is this normal? Do i have to reset my battery or something?
I have stock 2.2 D1 and just this morning my phone will stay on for about 5 minutes then freeze up and restart. Stay on for 5 minutes then restart again. Battery is full...when the screen goes into standby is when it seems to have problems. Just started happening around 10:00am today. Anyone else having issues?

View 4 Replies View RelatedStock Droid 2.2 tethered to Ubuntu 10.04. I can tether it and get good speeds and can surf around with no problem. When I launch Transmission (a bittorrent client) tethering shuts down after a few minutes. It doesn't disconnect but just stops transferring data...web pages won't even load. I have tried to limit the speeds of upload and download but nothing seems to work. I am using the tether option under settings- wi-fi on the Droid. Is there a limit in the droid for data or something like that?
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy brother in law turned me on to Pandora this past weekend. I knew about it and even poked around with it a few years ago, but never "got into" it. Having bailed on renewing my satellite radio subscription recently, I thought it time to check out Pandora. He taught me the ropes and we set up 2 channels to drive home with. Fire it up, worked fine. Turned on the Satellite Layer in maps to show him his neighborhood in a live GPS route - almost immediately Pandora crapped out on us. I presumed it was a bandwidth issue with loading satellite imagery as well as streaming audio. Had to kill the app and restart. On our way back home however, it died again - working fine, fired up another app - one that saves my track logs to a file for later examination. As soon as this app started, Pandora stopped. OK, Pandora needs a clear pallate, whatever, for now, we'll give it to her. Fired it up now a 3rd time - it ran like a champ - playing a new mix much better than what we used to get on XM Radio. Love it, wish I used it earlier. However, it stopped dead in its tracks right about 30 minutes after we started it. Had to go into App Manager and "kill" the Pandora app, then re-start it manually. It ran this 4th time for again, right about 30 minutes. Fired up again and thankfull we were only 20 mins from home, were able to listen to it into the garage.

I have tried to boot my phone into recovery mode (pressing X while powering back on) and all I get to is a screen with the exclamation mark and a phone under it.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI went to reboot my Droid because it was lagging a little and when it came back on it go stuck at the Cyanogen boot screen. I pulled the battery, put it back in and held the X to boot in recovery and my recovery won't come up either. It just skips right to the Motorola M and if it doesn't get stuck there it goes back to the Cyanogen screen.
I haven't made any changes to the phone at all so I am completely puzzled on why this is happening. I obviously can't take it back to Verizon since its rooted so if there is a way to fix this I really want to because I love my phone and my wife will kill me if it is screwed up.
Anyone know of a simple app that you can set your minutes per month allowance, monthly end dates and have the app pop an alert at a predefined # of minutes used. So, I could tell it to alert me when I reach 800 minutes (or when I have 100 remianing)? I use the MyVerizon app, but would like a way to set an alert in case I forget to check and get close to my minutes.
