Aug 3, 2010Whats the main icon size for the homescreen icons on the Desire? I want to download some from iPhone themes but have them in the correct resolution to be the full size on the phone

HTC Desire :: Reduce Icon Size
Jul 25, 2010I don't suppose there is a way to reduce the amount of space around the icons for apps/folders? When you remove the text under the images you could easily fit an extra row of icons on a homescreen by getting rid of some of the blank space.

HTC Desire Z :: Phone With Good Battery Life - Reasonable Size And Weight
Nov 10, 2010I currently have the Samsung Galaxy (I7500). I have it for a year+ now. A couple of months ago I wanted to buy the Desire, but I decided its too early for an upgrade (big mistake). It's very hard for me to keep waiting for the perfect device since I hate my galaxy so much. So my question is which phone would you recommend?
IPhone 4 no way ofcourse, Samsung Galaxy S no way cause Samsung really screwed things up with the original galaxy (and it has no Flash), which leaves me with HTC Desire HD or Desire Z. The DHD has an extremely weak battery, and I want my next phone to last a day (moderate user). So, is the Desire Z worth the money? The things that bother me with the Desire Z are:
1. Weight - It weigh 180 grams! Thats sick, way too much. (the Desire is about 135, which isn't light, but not heavy either)
2. Battery life - I'm not sure how long does it last under moderate usage.
3. Size - its quite big, and its especially because of the keyboard, which I don't really need / care about.So, Whats your opinion?

General :: Launcher Without Icon Size Restrictions?
Apr 29, 2012I have tried numerous launchers and have found it difficult to find any launchers that allow you to go above 72x72 resolution for icons. The only one that would was Go Launcher EX and that simply scaled them up to a barely noticeable 82x82.
Is there a launcher which allows you to load icons that are say 100x100 and that does not scale them?

But whenever I try to flash a new ROM using ROM manager, the phone re-boots as normal, but I get a n icon of the phone with a red question mark above it... The phone then just re-boots as normal without flashing anything?

Jun 13, 2010i've just upgraded to the Desire & am liking many things in it, but this issue bugs me:i've synced & linked the contacts in my 'people' app. in some cases, this involved linking the FaceBook profile of a person with a pre-exisitng phone number in my phone/sim card.The problem is that the phone seems to default to the Facebook 'profile picture' as the icon/photo that shows up in my People app (for that contact), even if tell it not to.I've tried downloading new pics, or taking a photo with the camera, and then manually setting this as the 'icon' for a certain person. This works for a while (a few hours?) and then within one day, the phone automatically re-sets this icon & replaces it with the Facebook profile pic. again.

Jun 30, 2010Just moved from an old WM device and separate mobile phone 'combination' to a single HTC Desire to 'do it all'. Pretty pleased so far but still searching (and finding) my way around things. One thing I was wondering about but didn't find an answer to is if you can't set anything so that your mobile operator name shows up in the home screen (just like with a phone). I'm traveling quite often for work and know from experience that one operator is often better in coverage or options than another one - so it would help if I can see the operator that is selected. I know that I can dig into the menus or status bar to see the operator but didn't find a way to show it 'always on' on the home screen.
