Is anyone else annoyed that the � symbol is omitted from the alt keyboard but not the $. It'd be good if when configuring the location they were then swapped around; save me digging for it in '123', then page 2.

I'm sure there is a learning curve to the HTC/Android keyboard. I have an iPod Touch so I feel I have some bad habits to break.While typing fast I find I often miss the space key, (I hit the space but it does not register.) Upon closer examination I realized it has everything to do with lack of multi-touch. If my left thumb is not off the last key fast enough the space bar will not be registered with my right. (if that makes sense.)I'm definitely loving the extra space and I feel like I'm just one hang-up away from being a very fast typer.
Has anyone with a MyTouch/Magic tried any of the nesoid/snesoid/negsoid/gameboid emulators? Is there a way to get in touch with the developer to see if he's working on, or planning on working on, new versions to handle the lack of a keyboard?

View 6 Replies View Relatedfirst of all I don't know if it is HTC's fault of Android's fault. I think it is Android's fault, Ok, yesterday my girlfriend send me SMS. As you all know that the little led flashes for a couple of minutes and then switches off. Hence, I missed that SMS. I was in a meeting So I came from the meeting, took all my gear and left in hurry because I didn't want anyone to stop me and start talking about yada yada yada on my way back to gym. Hence, I didn't check my SMS. She called me which I failed to see as I was in gym and then in shower. Then I went out with buddies to local bar. She tried to send me SMS again which I again failed to see. Now at 21:00, she arrived unexpectedly at my home when I just arrived back a couple of minutes before. Long story short, I was being interrogated that why I didn't see her missed call and missed SMS? As I was aware of lack of SMS/missed call notification, I decided not to tell the truth as she probably wouldn't understand. Fortunately, I had this broken phone prank installed in my phone which I ran and showed her that my phone was broken. I had some stone age Samsung before (BGH-100 or something) which wouldn't shut up till I would see the message. I also had Eten M700 whose led will keep blinking like a nagging wife till I would see the screen.Tell me how can I solve this problem? how to make that tiny little led keep blinking till I see the SMS or I see the missed call? Also, how can I make phone "beep" about missed SMS after every 5 minutes? I am afraid that us men are going to face a lot of interrogations from their lovers at home.

It's between the mobile strength and wifi symbols, and it's, from top to bottom, a capital L on its side, a / and a filled in square. It's still there with GPS, Mobile and wifi switched off. I can't see it in the manual.

Hope to get my replacement in next 2 days.Meanwhile, as I use Microsoft Outlook 2007 on my PC to access my emails from my domain mail account (POP3) most of the time, I was previously unsure how best to configure/sync my emails on my Desire. From other recommendations on this forum, I reached the conclusion it was best to configure my GMail account to also pull in mail from my domain POP3 account, and then just check my mail via GMail on the Desire. However, when I get my new phone, I am now wondering what is the BEST way to actually configure GMail on the HTC Desire?
On the wizard that appears when you first start up the phone, it asks you to enter your email account settings. I could enter the settings for my GMail account there, and I assume it would then check/use my Gmail account via the Desire's own main email app.Is it better for any reason to just bypass the settings for the Desire's main mail app, and instead just configure and access my GMail via the Desire's own GMAil app? AND if choose the latter option, will the phone's email notification system still automatically alert me to new emails, or do I need to reconfigure something to make it do that?AND Will the phone's standard email/messages shortcut option automatically link to the GMail app, and if not, is there a way to force it to link to that?I'd appreciate recommendations for best way to proceed with this as it may save me setting it up one way and then deciding after some time that I'm better using a different method!

and i've been trying to root this so i can use other application and wifi tether however everytime i tried i always get this error " MAIN FOLDER IS OLDER , MAIN UPDATE FAIL!"
I used unrevoked - does not work then i restore to factory setting THEN i tried simpleroot get message Main Folder is older, main update fail!. I also have tried to do Restart the PHONE and press the power button and hold the volume button up (but i have upload the PC36IMG.ZIP before i reboot) THIS does not work either get same message.

After rooter i need to know if possible to update somehow to get my FLASH working or it have to be update to droid 2.2 (if i update to 2.2 after rooted, will it lose all my rooted previously assuming its already successfully rooted)
I have no desire to root my desire. However, wandering around here and asking a lot of stupid questions and getting most answered with a great deal of patience has led me to wonder: 1) Can you get scrolling calendars other than the Sense one, without rooting? (I can't find any - I like the CalWidget big one, but it wont scroll). 2) Can you do anything to the main appearance other than change the background, without rooting? I've seen talk about the app 'OpenHome' - but on the market it's marked with low stars as buggy. 3) On 2 - can you remove the names from below the icons? Change the icons (e.g. with a theme) - without putting things into folders? 4) Can you remove options without rooting? E.g. my photo sharing (I've returned to the basic app, as gallery had a few bugs, e.g. with the camera) has 12 options to share (I had more, but I uninstalled different twitter apps and got rid of a few - I still have two facebook shares, peep and tridroid etc), which means scrolling through to find. On the gallery app, which had no scroll for sharing options, some were pushed off the screen. Is there a way to limit it just to the ones I'd use?

And I am unable to see one of the main features of the new version i.e. to filter results by open times and neighbourhood etc. When I click on the places icon in my maps, it just shows me the two search filters that I had before - 'Distance' and 'Rating'. Am I the only one who is having this problem? I am on T-Mobile in UK.

The original wifi router is in my upstairs office, but gave poor coverage in some downstairs rooms, so I set up an "extended service set" wireless network with two access points, the original router upstairs and a Solwise homeplug WiFi extender extender downstairs (with a powerline link between the wireless router and the Solwise wifi extender), each using a different channel but the same WPA password.Every other wireless device in the house works happily between the two, but my Desire only seems to want to log on to the main router and defaults to mobile internet access in the 'difficult' areas. It seems to repeatedly try to get an address from the network downstairs, but reports 'unsuccessful' and keeps retrying.Any suggestions?
View 1 Replies View RelatedSo, after getting rid of my iPod Touch and a lovely Sony Ericsson Elm, I'm in the possession this beautiful device. I've been currently using this device as my main music player as well, it seems very good (apart from no equalizers).
The problem is, the music player seems to drain the battery pretty fast. I've been searching around and people have said to have gotten max 7 and a half hours on a full battery? Compared to even the iPhone 3g, which I know is UP TO 24 hours, but that doesn't ever mean you'll get full time, probably 15 or 16 hours, thats very poor.
I would like a small contacts shortcut on my main home page. The only one I have is sunder favorites on another page and it takes up the whole page. So how do I add a smaller contacts shortcut to my main page?

This also seemed to go to plan. It wiped all my data and apps but I re-installed Mybackup pro and got everything back
2 problems now. my main email that I used to access with the 'email icon' on the main screen [hotmail] will not connect any more and when I look at the phone software version it says 'version 2.1 update 1' Does this mean 2.2 has NOT been istalled? If so I'm pissed off as it took me about 2 hours in all
I find it amusing how many Senseless ROMS are popping up. The majority of all ROMS thus far are Senseless and I don't really get it. The main reason I sold my MotoDroid to get the HTC Incredible was for SenseUI and now everybody is wanting to ditch it. I need more Sense ROMs to play with and theres just nothing to choose from. SO I figured I would start a poll and see if I am the only one. So is it a Sense or Senseless ROM preference?

In all the reviews I read they note the lack of apps on Android Market for the Tattoo, due to it's lower resolution - is this still an issue? I've read numerous reports stating the issue has been fixed but I'm not quite sure what to believe.
Did you see that Bell wireless is discontinuing their HTC Legend phones because of screen shortages. They are not taking any more orders for Legends'. Hmmmm.... makes me wonder how long before our incredible Incredibles' follow. We could soon all be owners of a very rare breed though! Might increase re-sale value.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhy are accessories so scarce.Eris has been out since 11/6.You would figure at least batteries and charging docks would be available.Also with the eris just being a re-branded hero, you would think there would be abundance of accessories.I can understand the droid,because its a completely new device.I know I could just do my research and find out what batteries and docks are compatible, but i don't think i should have to.When i bought the samsung omnia i had no problem finding batteries and docks.It seems like it was a rushed launch, but they been talking about this since the beginning of the year.
