I would like a small contacts shortcut on my main home page. The only one I have is sunder favorites on another page and it takes up the whole page. So how do I add a smaller contacts shortcut to my main page?

How can I add a shortcut to a PDF file I have on my home screen?
I've downloaded anycut, but there arent any instructions for it.
I've just upgraded from my E71 to the Desire & when I put my sim card in, there are sms messages on it. The Desire keeps telling me my sim is full. How do I transfer those sms messages to the memory card, without deleting them? Also how do I add contacts from my sim to the favorites section on the Home page?

intent.setAction("com.android.launcher.action.INSTALL_SHORTCUT");sendBroadcast(intent);
And that's cool, that really work!
Now I would like to do something different: I have seen that some actions can "register" somewhere to be added in the Android menu, when you long press on the Home like this one:

So my main question is the next one:
How is that possible to register for this menu. I guess there is some line to add in the manifest, but cannot see where to do that!
There is a secondary question: once i will have succeed doing that, may I add a different number of shortcuts in my menu ( imagine That I would like to do that for a multi-account twitter client, I would like to see a different for each twitter account in this list.) So the number of shortcut is programmaticaly computed.
I did a search and when you type in .PDF the search doesn't find anything. I'm sure its because of it being a short word.
I have a .PDF I would like to put possibly on one of my home screens as a shortcut. I plugged my Cliq into my computer and put the document in the memory card, but can't navigate to it through the phone. The only way I can find this file is if I open up Beamreader.
I have an ally and i just had to get a new one because my old one was re-booting. anyway, I had the google navigation beta shortcut on my home page on my last phone and i cant find it now. its the blue arrow. i have re-booted to see if it shows up, nothing. i have searched the market for "google maps" and cant find it. can i do a manual update?

When I go to add the shortcut to my home screen, I get a Force Close, not on my own process, but on com.android.acore(!). I've run the debugger and verified that my code gets executed all the way to the call to finish().
If I do this instead for the EXTRA_SHORTCUT_ICON:
intent.putExtra(Intent.EXTRA_SHORTCUT_ICON, R.drawable.icon);
It works fine and places the shortcut, and the shortcut behaves correctly -- but of course the shortcut has the stock Android icon, not mine, since this isn't the proper way to specify the icon.
When I look at the source code of other apps that have done this, and at the one example of it in the official Android reference area, my code looks identical. My icon's a standard 48x48 png that I use for the app's main icon, without problems. I've verified this problem on an emulator running stock 1.6, haven't tested other versions.
I've got my X10 today and was just wondering how do i add pictures to my contacts and get them to show up as a picture in the short cuts on the homescreen. I have tried adding an image to a contact, which only shows up in phonebook.. but not the shortcuts..

View 6 Replies View RelatedFor some reason on the main screen on my new htc desire hd the shortcut images of my contacts seem to be very blurry and hard to make out. Is there a setting to make it more clear, also my contacts list the pics down the side are blurry to. I am sure it was clearer on my other htc I had. Also when I scroll up and down on the main screen the icons seem to very slightly flicker
is this normal?
I like the HTC contacts widget, but i'd like it to be horizontal instead of taking up the a half of a page.
Is there a similar widget that can be shown horizontal?

I have quickdial shortcuts on the home screen, but as it's only a call or message, i find i've got a couple duplicated.
What i'd like is the same picture shortcut, but if you press or hold it, then a slide-off or drop-down will show to select action, be it call, sms, email etc. (With the bonus of setting the default action).
I read on here somewhere that I could add the 3 icons to my homescreen, very very useful but now my boyfriend wants it on his phone and for the life of me I can't remember how to do it.

I have found that it is not very accurate; my friend's app on his iphone (Yahoo, I believe) is better. Can you change the standard one on the HD? However, when I go to the dialer page the phone shows both phone contacts and SIM contacts resulting in multiple duplicate contacts from where I copied from SIM to Phone when I first got the handset. View 2 Replies View RelatedI have the tronsmart CX-919 mini pc running 4.2 and there is an issue with the browser reverting back to the home page or the previous page. When I try to display a webpage on our intranet it reverts back to the homepage or previous page after about 3 hours. I need it to display constantly. I read somewhere that it was a Download Manager issue and disabling it would work but I can't find where to disable it. Also it was stated that Flash was an issue but i tried uninstalling it and it just reinstalled itself and the problem kept occurring. I just want to display a page in a browser and for it to stay on the screen (full screen) until I manually navigate away from it. I plan to leave it on for weeks at a time.
