Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 :: Changing Arrow Direction On Unlock Arrow
Aug 20, 2010Does anyone know how to change the direction of the unlock arrow? I use my phone in my left hand so it would be much more handy to use the phone if I could change the direction of the arrow. Currently the arrow goes from bottom left side of screen to the middle right side and this causes me to have to use both hands to use the phone even to do the simplest of tasks.
I want to be able to have the unlock arrow go from the bottom right side of the screen to the middle left side. This option would be a more normal flowing one handed function for me.
Is there an option for this? I have tried to find it and can not see it anywhere. I sure hope this can be changed because this is becoming very anoying. I like the swoop idea and think it could be handy and better than my old iPhone option but I need the direction change.

It's between the mobile strength and wifi symbols, and it's, from top to bottom, a capital L on its side, a / and a filled in square. It's still there with GPS, Mobile and wifi switched off. I can't see it in the manual.

Nov 6, 2010I've got an unbranded Desire running 2.2. Occasionally (maybe twice a week) it will go into a cycle where WiFi disables itself when connected. Once fully disabled, it enables itself again. Once it has found my home network, it obtains the IP address. At the point of connection it then disables wifi and starts the process again. Normally, it works fine. Connected, stable, just as you'd expect. Once it starts on this loop I restart the phone and it works absolutely fine. This has happened on another WiFi network other than the home network. I've got the power control widget, and since this started I've now got WiFi manager installed as well. I run locale with a scenario that turns WiFi on when I'm at home using the location power saving add-on, however this WiFi problem has occured with both locale enabled and disabled.

Sep 15, 2010Today at work I went into my people application and sent a contact card too a friend.
When I done this it went to send it through messages rather than through handcent for whatever reason. Either way the friend didn't get the contact card. After this I went into handcent to send a contact and nothing would send. So I tried sending a normal text message and nothing. After half an hour I rebooted phone but still nothing do. I decided to turn phone off and take battery and SIM card out and then turn back on. This still didn't fix it so I went into manage applications and cleared all cache and data from HTC messages application.
Again this didn't work but I am worried what data I may have deleted now? 3 hours later and everything was working ok or seeming too however every now and then I got the message sending failed. I've had full signal throughout this. Also when I now receive a message I am getting 2 messages notifications come up one from handcent the other from HTC messages application? On another note what cache can I clear? I've got astro which allows me too clear thumbnail and internal cache which I do weekly but how can I clear all my application cache at once? and should I clear caches?

Jul 5, 2010Recently my phone keeps coming up with a message saying please delete some files as your phone is full.The only thing I can think of is that the images for my contacts from facebook that are linked from facebook sync are using up all my memory.

Nov 7, 2010Okay what started out as a slight annoyance is quickly turning into a right pain in the ass. For some reason, over the last week or so I'm finding that I have to restart my WiFi connection to connect to the net. The web pages just wont load, but as soon as I restart it, they load fine. This goes the same for the Market. As far as I know NOTHING has changed on my phone as far as WiFi goes, and my Rom has worked just fine till this issue started.

Aug 30, 2010Today whilst surfing the net via wireless (only for a few mins) my Desire shutdown out of the blue and now constantly reboots - all it shows is the O2 Welcome screen before rebooting. Tried stopping this booting by holding down the power key and now it's stuck on the welcome screen! Any idea of what I can do? I've already removed the battery, sim and mini sd card and tried starting again but I still can't get past the o2 screen!

Apr 11, 2010Got my Desire this week as a free upgrade from Orange, really impressed with it and glad i resisted from getting the iPhone. Anyway a question if anyone can answer, why doesn't the weather animation constantly play/scroll, it only does it once when you turn on, up to now(this week) its been sunny/cloudy so only seen the clouds scroll across the screen once but you don't see them again. My brother has an HTC but i don't know which one apart from its a Windows OS not android and his constantly scrolls. Is the android OS different than the Windows or do i need to activate something in the menus?

Aug 28, 2010I have a branded Desire, with Telstra software. These last few months have seen my desire constantly rebooting itself. This occurs 2-3 times a day without fail. It not only restarts itself, but takes a good 10-15 minutes to fully boot - constantly 're-rebooting'. I have removed ALL after-market applications, removed all data from the memory card, so it's back to how it was straight out the box (with the exception of user data - contacts, messages etc.). I don't feel comfortable with debranding / rooting the phone. Does anyone have any ideas as to what may be causing the restarts, and a possible way around it? There is no definitive process or application involved in the restarts, it is entirely random.

I realize you can tap where you want the cursor to go, but that is very imprecise when you want to go back to a space in between letters and make a correction. Especially with fat fingers.

Sep 18, 2010I'd like to show a large green arrow in front of all other views when the user clicks a button. The arrow should fade in, stay there for 1-2 seconds and fade out again. How would I go about programming this? I've looked at the animation examples but would like to confirm the way forward before I dive into programming something that won't work :-):
Draw the arrow-image as a bitmap, immediately make it invisible Fade it in ("alpha"-change animation)
Let it stay for 2 seconds Fade it out (again, "alpha"-change animation)
Is this correct, or would you suggest something else?

Oct 23, 2010My EVO 4G will freak out when I am texting. Its like the cursor just goes to doodah land. Its gone completely. I am sure others are frustrated by this symptom. Its my only real bitch about this phone. Am I fat fingering the up arrow ? If so it wont come back down. Anybody else having this issue ?
