Is it possible to assign another button to take the picture other than the trackball button? would really love it if we could use for e.g the volume buttons to take the pictures, it would make it so much easier.

My physical camera button won't take a picture. It does the ding noise for being focused or whatever and the square turns green, but it won't take the picture anymore. If I want to take one I have to use the auto focus on screen tap. The same goes for the camcorder function. I have no clue what's causing this as it always worked fine before. I have the leaked 2.3.15 Froyo with rub-ix focused Rom + nexTheme. To my knowledge the camera button always worked fine until I noticed today that it wasn't. (Now watch, this is probably some stupid obvious thing I've overlooked.

So first is it possible to only view pictures taken by the camera when I press the review button in the camera app? for example, not only do the pictures I take come up but also pictures of wallpapers and other saved images located in different folders show up. I also wanted to know if it was possible to have the take picture button be moved to the hold button.

I know it's possible to end a phone call on the Desire by pressing the power button after enabling it in settings. But when I go to Settings/Accessibility I get a pop-up message saying, 'No accessibility related application found. You can download a screen reader for your device from Android Market. Click OK to install the screen reader.'If I press 'Cancel' I'm in the accessibility settings with a single grayed-out 'Accessibility' option. But no other options are available.

Just got my HTC Desire. I've finally got HTC Sync working. How do I upload photos from my phone to my PC? I dont want to share them on the web. I just need to get them from my phone onto my PC (Windows Vista) I cant believe I cant figure out how to upload a picture!!

I downloaded an image from commons on my phone. I then hit settings->personalize->home wallpaper->Photos and then select the image when it appears. I get the confirmation popup "the picture has been set as your wallpaper" but when I hit the home key nothing has changed.
If I select any image from "photos" it does this, but if I select HTC or Live wallpapers it works fine.
Anyone recommend a alternative SMS app, any similar to the iphone where it has the speech bubbles. Also is there a way to add pictures to my contacts from the friends stream facebook app? Or an easier way to add their picture to my contact list?
View 5 Replies View RelatedOk, any time I try to send a photo over MMS it just sits in my inbox going no where. I'm using a rooted ROM and handcent, changed the sent settings to 1Mb for file size so that should'nt really be a problem (photos are only 80k). Am I missing something obvious?

Is there any way to get it to use the whole picture. as it stands, whenever I try to use a picture for my wallpaper, it makes me crop the picture, and no matter what I do, the crop box never lets me use the whole picture, its like there's a size limit or something.
View 3 Replies View RelatedFor a while now the thumbnail gallery has sometimes merged pictures - so on the thumbnail it's actually a combination of more than 1 picture. This hasn't really bothered me until recently because the more pictures I take the worse it's getting, so much so that I can't always tell which picture I'm going to be looking at until I actually select it. In every case the picture views correctly on the screen when I view them one at a time, it's just a problem with the thumbnails. I've attempted to clear the gallery cache which made it appear slightly better but not by much. I've checked the DCIM / .thumbnails folder but there's just loads of files in there saying file and RAW file and to be honest I don't know what it's all about. I've trawled the net and checked the forums but cannot seem to see a solution - does anyone know what I can do in order to solve this?
View 4 Replies View RelatedSince I started installing custom ROMs on my Desire, the contact pictures have been missing in the HTC Messages app. They show up fine everywhere else, just in Messages I see the default grey contact icon all the time.I initially thought it could be a bug specific to one of the ROMs I installed but it's happened with AdamG's 'official' Froyo Sense ROM and Paul's MCR Custom ROM r5 which I'm currently running (actually, I've installed 2 slightly different 'bakes' of this and the problem is there in both).I've tried asking about this on XDA and MoDaCo in the relevant ROM threads but not had any luck. Just wondered if anyone had any idea at all what could be causing this and how to fix it, or at least find out why it's happening.As I said, its literally just in the Messages app that it's happening - everywhere else contact pics show up just fine.

I currently have a Blackberry Storm2, i absolutely love the S2 but unfortunately the OS is so far behind everything else on the market and its sooo buggy! A while back i did have a HTC magic but i hated it as there was so much missing from it as in features/specs. I Have a few questions about the Desire if someone wouldn't mind trying to answer (most are biased from using the magic) 1) Do you get push email (I use gmail) 2) are you able to bluetooth pictures etc between phones? 3) are there any niggles about the phone or anything missing from it as in features? 4) Are you able to change ringtone/SMS/MMS/Email/Cnectd/Messenger tones to any MP3 you want? Is there any previous Storm2 or other blackberry users which have jumped to the Desire? If so do you miss anything/how are you finding it.
View 26 Replies View RelatedI want my contacts to have the facebook profile pictures. Most of them update, but i noticed some dont, which wouldve been bearable if a couple werent in my favourites (people) widget.
I've used SyncMyPics and it seemed to work fine, but all the pictures are now using the gmail picture which is blurry (fixed if i deleted the pic in gmail so itll used facebooks higher quality). but heres the problem, when i go to the contact to pic a new picture, the options are google and facebook, but the google is the updated picture, and facebook is still the old one. I want to use facebook too because its much better quality.
I have added a few photos to my contacts but the resolution on both the thumbnail and contact picture while dialling is shocking! Can anyone suggest a way to improve them?

I don't mind downloading an app or two to achieve this, I just don't like all my photos being thrown together.

Firstly, does anyone know if there's any was of getting it to always show pictures for a given sender (like the web app)? I seem to have a decent connection most places, and get fed up of constantly having the press the button, especially as most of the emails I get are HTML type newsletters. And related to the type of emails, why doesn't the GMail app also have pinch to zoom when viewing the messages? They always come up huge and I have to scroll around. Can you at least change the default zoom. Failing that is there a another free email app. that will do these things.
