Every time i get an email with pictures, which is almost everyone, i have to hit "show pictures." Is there a way to always show pictures without having to hit the button?

I somehow setup gmail and the "default email" application. that is kind of dumb to have both? anyway I want to use the gmail application. Where is the setup of the default email application so I can remove/delete the application? Gmail application - HOW / WHERE can you make it default to show pictures in an email? Not liking all the black setup applications and menus? If I get a different theme does that change all menus and color of default applications like messaging and setup menus/everything?

View 15 Replies View RelatedSo I have my Facebook account set to sync with my contact but I use Google voice all the time for text and phone. Is there a way to get the pictures that go with my contact to show up when they text or call my gvoice number?
All my pictures are from Facebook so if everything works right the pictures I see in gvoice should be the same as the profile pix in FB.
My physical camera button won't take a picture. It does the ding noise for being focused or whatever and the square turns green, but it won't take the picture anymore. If I want to take one I have to use the auto focus on screen tap. The same goes for the camcorder function. I have no clue what's causing this as it always worked fine before. I have the leaked 2.3.15 Froyo with rub-ix focused Rom + nexTheme. To my knowledge the camera button always worked fine until I noticed today that it wasn't. (Now watch, this is probably some stupid obvious thing I've overlooked.
View 3 Replies View RelatedNew to the forum and the reason I signed up is I can't seem to find anything online about the problem I'm having with my HTC Desire. I am running a custom Froyo ROM (DeFrost 5.1) with ClockworkMod 2.5.0.7. My issue is that sometimes when I'm in an application (as far as I can tell, any application..haven't been able to pick up on any patterns, other than I have to be in the app for more than about 15 seconds) and I hit the home button, there is about a 5+ second delay before the phone reacts. While I'm waiting, the current app is fully functional as if I hadn't done anything although after waiting it will do it's usual process to get back to the home screen (fluid animation and everything). Hitting the home button multiple times seems to make the process go faster, although there is still a delay (the sense of it happening faster could simply be that I'm doing something instead of just sitting there too and it's not a real decrease in the delay). I have Launcher Pro Plus installed with "Keep in memory" and "Use homescreen caches" options enabled to try and make the home screen react faster. Memory usage preset is set to "High" and Homescreen cache type is set to normal. The weird thing about this is before I installed the custom ROM, I was experiencing the same thing with Android 2.1 w/ Sense UI since I got the phone (got it end of August) and if I remember correctly happened both with and without Launcher Pro installed (didn't know about the memory settings in Launcher Pro at the time so they were at default then). Is anyone experiencing a similar issue and/or does anyone have any suggestions as to how to fix this? I really like Android and truly want to love it, but things like this just keep getting in the way. If it's an OS issue then Google really needs to work on this as it really is nuts when you want to switch apps to wait 5+ seconds before even getting started.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen you get a new email, is there a way to show on the notification bar that you have a "New Email" WITHOUT showing a preview of it? The reason I ask is because I use App Protector to make my email private but it still shows a brief preview when a new email arrives. I still want to be notified when there is a new email and have the blinking notification light. I thought about asking here before emailing the developer for that particular app.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a setup view where the user can enter their name and email and click done when they are finished which navigates them to another activity1. When they are in activity1, and they hit the soft back button on the phone, it takes them screen where they entered their name and email. However, the name and email EditText fields are blank. In the view where the name and email are entered I looked to see if onStart, onCreate, OnPause, onResume,... where being called after the back button was hit, but they are not. Do you know how I can make it so that the EditText fields have the information that was previously entered.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAnyone noticing their Yahoo notification not showing up in the bar when they receive email? I get the sound, but there is no icon displayed in the bar. When I pull the bar down, I see the message title, but the icon does not appear.
Also, I've noticed on the Messaging app, that the Yahoo icon is missing the purple Y. The icon is just a generic looking envelope. Something has changed with the account. Battery pulls or logging in or out of the account have not helped either.
Anyone else have this issue or know a fix? Contact pictures show in contact details and in the contacts app, but not in the dial or when I get a call. Contact management is the only thing I don't like about my X.

I guess this can be achieved using services and activity and passing data in between the. But, what I need to do is even if I hit back button and then start the activity again. It should check if the service is running or not. If service is not running it should start one else it should display the data from running service.
Something like music player where music is played by a service at a background and activity displays the information. Even on browsing through other activities of the application or hitting back, state of the music player is maintained.
My face is hitting the 7 key often and deleting my voicemail and some other keys. Is someone else facing that too? I can hide the dialpad and get rid of the problem for that call but often, you need the dial pad to call banks, etc Just wondering if anybody else is seeing this or am I the only one?

When I get emails like this, I have to click on "Show HTML" or "Show Picture" every single time an email comes in if I actually want to see the email the way it was intended to be shown. I know for a fact that iphones and other email readers dont have any issues with this. Is there a setting to automatically display the email the way it was meant to be shown instead of having to click these buttons each time I want to view the email correctly? Or, perhaps there's already a market app that forces the android email client to display emails correctly?

What's happening, you say? Well, as the phone is being placed up to my ear, my ear is inadvertently touching the keypad of the phone and dialing.
