Will you still receive your messages if you close out the stock message "app" in say ATK? I never know if I should kill that or not. Same question holds for Bloo and Facebook. If you use Bloo, you can kill Facebook can't you?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have tried handcent and chomp. For some reason I can not get the phone to vibrate when I receive a message. It works with the weak stock Eris vibration, but nothing with chomp or handcent.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI keep trying to attach pictures using Handcent. Keeps telling me pictures are too large and resizing. Then it always force closes handcent. I increased maximum MMS size to 1M. Never had this problem til after the update. Have done a factory reset. Only thing I have not done is uninstall Handcent and reinstall. Anybody else having his issue?

View 11 Replies View RelatedFirst off, i use chomp for my messaging. Whenever I get an MMS and hit download it downloads the photo and right before it shows it I get a notification saying that "messages needs to force close" then the photo will pop up in chomp with no problems.

View 49 Replies View RelatedStock messaging app has become very laggy with over 3000 messages, some spawning threads of around 800 messages.Also, deleting them, while being an option, shouldn't be necessary. I delete all of my messages at the start of a new billing cycle and that's how it's always been with my smartphones, so none of those suggestions please For those of you who use 3rd party SMS apps, with large amounts of text messages, do you notice any of them being laggy?

"I've been looking for a reliable messaging app since I got my incredible, but I always stuck with the stock sms. The reason being is one HUGE glitch scared me away from handcent. the glitch where it would randomly send a text message to the wrong person from your contact list and pretty much pick a random contact to send the sms to. I can't really have that happen since I use my phone as my work phone and personal phone. It would be a VERY bad situation if a text message I was sending my girlfriend was randomly sent to someone from work or a customer. I've seen people posting about this glitch earlier this year but I've never seen anyone confirm whether it not the glitch has been fixed or still exists? It's not something I want to risk. I guess my reason for posting this is I am very curious to find out if that glitch has been fixed. I would LOVE to use hand cent or chomp but I would like some confirmation as to whether or not that glitch is no more. Can anyone confirm this?"

Removing / barring the pre-update issues with the native messaging app on the phone, which one of these do you prefer? I am currently using the native app, seems fine to me, I like that I can link contacts to FB etc. Not necessarily looking for something that plagiarize's the iPhone messenger (cartoon bubbles), but I am always open to something new if it is better than the app preloaded on the phone. If you don't use the native app, is there a widget for Handcent or Chomp (like the native) to make viewing and responding easy?

View 35 Replies View RelatedI have had a Sprint HTC Hero for a while and I absolutely love it, but when my messages get over only a couple 100 or even less, I will be sending a message or reading one and the messages app will force close and then when I come back to my messages, they are all deleted. I also often have to restart the phone just to get the messages to work again. At first I just thought of this as a way the hero refreshes itself, but I have been missing things and losing messages all the time lately and it is bothering me.

I recall reading through posts before that the lack of the popup was a big negative for Chomp. Just spreading the news, not saying any one app is better than the other. Do what you want with this information.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently switched to chomp from handcent because I like the way chomp looks better than handcent and they both have basically the same functionality.
Well chomp just had an update and it is now force closing everytime i turn my phone on and will not work at all.
I have not tried to uninstall and reinstall because I just got it customized perfectly and there is no guarantee that will work. I will do that if/when someone says it has worked foe them.
That said, has anyone had this problem happen to them after the new update?
Every time i receive a text in Chomp, i also get a notification for a blank message.
Has anybody else had this problem?
Also, just sent a friend a text, and they received it 3 times... i only sent it once... thinking of ditching chomp...

I have been using the Yahoo messenger app for the last week or so without problems, but today I have not been able to receive any messages. A phone call to a friend confirmed they were getting them from me, but I could not see anything back from them. One friend said she sent me over 50 messages throughout the day, to see if I would get one. I was signed in at the time, but never saw any of them. When I got home, I signed in on the computer and was hoping to see a flood of the messages, but nothing popped up. My guess is, the messages were getting sent and confirmed, since I was signed in through the phone, but the app was not displaying them.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been using Handcent for awhile. Recently been having problems with duplicate messages in Handcent. I think it started when I switched to Koush's Rom, but I can't swear to it. I use Google Voice for all my calls and text, but I send and receive my text via Handcent using my GNumber. The default client has the duplicates tos, so I don't think it is Handcent's fault but either the phone is somehow duplicating the message or the problem is with GVoice when it forwards the text to me. I can send texts just fine and no one has complained to me about recieving double texts, so I believe it is only my incoming messages. It also isn't 100% of the time, but I would say around 80%.

What's happening, though, is that TWO messages are being SENT when I send a message from Handcent. The GF says she's getting every message twice.
I got a strange 9.99 on my bill this month... and when I call Verizon they say it was for using advanced Text messageing Services w Handcent? I am confused I have not seen any indication that there was charges associated w using Handcent ... is this info correct or do I need to go back to verizon for more info?
