All the apps I have downloaded to my Pulse are backed up onto my SD card. Can I just pop my card into my new Desire and use Astro (or some such thing) to copy them all or do I need to start again from scratch?

So I've downloaded the Tajm and Battstatt which are widgets and for some reason they're downloading directly to my sdcard. So while I have them on my homescreen and I reboot my phone they will not show up anymore. So I decide to move them to my phone memory and when I do they no longer show up on the widgets list anymore.

When I get a new phone, and copy and replace all this data to the new phone, how much is it like the original phone then? Are the settings, placement of everything, etc. all the same or how does that work?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI need some tech help please. I have checked the settings on my phone the volume is up for everything (i.e. ringer, notifications, media) The ringer works. The sounds work. But when I try to open a downloaded application from the market, it wont play the sound. One of the examples of this: I downloaded a silly piano application, and it wont play sound, but it will vibrate. That is one of many apps without sound. What do I do?

Possibly send me a link with directions on how to install.I searched for the thread but had no luck. First of all I downloaded the file and it is zipped.So i unzipped it and copied the unzipped files onto my sd card into an applications folder I had created. From there I opened the applications folder with Astro but I dont know where to go from here.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy Hero is going haywire. I was trying to download some apps from the market today and they don't want to start. So I rebooted my phone to see if it made any difference. Now when it starts up I get error messages that the com.android.phone and a few others are not working and have to force a close. I have no service either. All the installed apps and components are working but not phone itself. I am with Cellular South in Mississippi and my wife has a Hero also which is working normally so I know it's not a network issue.

File management and, file transfer applications to wireless link to my laptop followed by the transfer of all my work presentations (powerpoint) and lecture notes. All worked fine until today. Now, my device seems to have lost all the downloaded and installed apps (leaving gaps on the desktop). It has also discarded the image I had chosen for my screen background, and I can't see an icon to go to the Android store. Finally: on one of the screens I have the message "Problem loading widget". That might be connected to the problem that Android Market has completely disappeared. How do I get that back!! It's important. My transferred files are still sitting in folders in DCIM so that's good. but none of the special applications are visible. Can someone give an opinion on this. Has something taken place online with Samsung that has put my system back to its out-of-box state.

When i click on the 'App' Icon it says 'To add widgets open the vodafone shop and download your widgets' I already have the apps installed on the phone for sure, just need the shortcuts to appear under the 'App' button.

For example... in the Android market - Documents to Go says the application is only 3.59mb BUT once I download it and look under Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications to see what real size it is the application jumps to 8.05mb!
It seems like every single application is doing this. Why are these applications bigger than they actually are?
Suppose you upload a paid app and you want to test if it works correctly when downloaded from Android Market - do you pay for it? Are your own apps free to you? And to download it from the market, do you have to make it visible to the whole world? I tried to upload an app, the uploader accepts it, but when I try to download it from the phone it says "package file was not signed correctly".
It's unacceptable that the uploader checks to see if a file is signed, but it somehow performs *Different* tests than what the phone actually does when it downloads apps. I hope I can debug this further without having to publish my app to test it and make my app momentarily visible to everybody.
how can I stop e-mails from downloading whenever I connect to the internet and D/Load them manualy when I want. I have all the optioned greyed out in General synch settings but it still does it.

I've been noticing of late that it isn't listing the apps that I have been downloaded thus far. It displays one/two/three items that 've been downloaded (no specific time line, either). Furthermore, sometimes, it also tends to display an app which has already been removed.
When I download an app, does it save to the phones memory or the SD card?? Also, when I'm in "bulk storage" mode when plugged into my PC via the USB, I assume the window that pops up is the SD card as opposed to the phone memory?? Is there any way to check what is saved to either location?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just rooted my phone a bit ago and tried a few different roms on Rom Manager. I got to the Ultimate Droid 10 New Era or something one and now I'm stuck in a bootloop. It keeps loading the UD circle and flipping it then goes blank and repeats. What do I need to do to get it out of this? edit- I held X while turning it on to get into the clockwork menu and nandroid to try to restore the boot but it still didn't work. Was still looping the Ultimate Droid boot screen. edit again- I went back to that menu and restored system this time. Still loops but its the original droid boot screen now.

I exported my texts to an email through the phone and I figured everything else was being backed up to my gmail account like it states in the 'backup and reset" section. But low and behold, I've got squat coming back after doing a reset. Is there some special trick to restoring a backup or am I hosed?

PS I'm on a Nexus 7, with 4.4.2.
I just performed a full wipe of my HTC One M7 and flashed a new rom. Once it was done I downloaded Titanium backup from the Play Store and restored all my backed up data. Note that I didn't back up my SMS messages with Titanium, just my SMS app, Textra.
Once it was done I opened up Textra and all my messages were sitting there just as they were before the wipe.
I'm pretty sure that Google doesn't backup things like SMS messages, so where did they come from?
