how can I stop e-mails from downloading whenever I connect to the internet and D/Load them manualy when I want. I have all the optioned greyed out in General synch settings but it still does it.

Is there a time limit your downloaded emails remain on your legend? Over the past 2 weeks or so I have noticed emails falling off. This morning I woke up to find them all gone? Maybe I havent got it set up correctly

I've been noticing of late that it isn't listing the apps that I have been downloaded thus far. It displays one/two/three items that 've been downloaded (no specific time line, either). Furthermore, sometimes, it also tends to display an app which has already been removed.
So I've downloaded the Tajm and Battstatt which are widgets and for some reason they're downloading directly to my sdcard. So while I have them on my homescreen and I reboot my phone they will not show up anymore. So I decide to move them to my phone memory and when I do they no longer show up on the widgets list anymore.

Also, when I'm in "bulk storage" mode when plugged into my PC via the USB, I assume the window that pops up is the SD card as opposed to the phone memory?? View 13 Replies View Related(HTC Desire running Froyo, not been rooted/molested).I have the stock email app set up to send/receive email through my BT email account.This all works fine with one exception.If I am sent an email which contains an image, I just receive the text no image at all (not even any sign that an image should be there). If the image is sent as an attachment then it is fine, it is only a problem when the image is in the body of the email.I have checked through settings and have set mail size limit to 'No Limit'.Can't see any other relevant settings.I found an old thread about this when I searched and it suggested that this was a known issue and may be corrected in 2.2. However, I am running 2.2 already.This is especially annoying as my cousin has been sending emails containing photos from her iphone and finds it quite amusing that my HTC cannot even display them

I simply cannot forward attachments on emails
Situation
Mr Jones sends me email + word document + pic, i need to forward email to Mrs Smith.
The email forwards but when Mrs Smith gets the email its part of an unknown folder that you cant access the attacements with.
Ive downloaded the attachements properly but that hasnt worked.
If it makes any difference this is with Microsoft Exchange server.

View 6 Replies View RelatedHe's set up his gmail and work mail on the phone just fine, but his hotmail is playing silly buggers. The gmail is through that app, the work and hotmail through the desire mail app.
Anyway - he cannot get any hotmail emails into the inbox. When you first set up the account, he gets two 'welcome' mails - the kind you get when you set up the mail account online, welcoming you to your inbox. No other emails ever come through.
However - he can send from it. And it appears in his outbox online.
I looked in the syncing sections and under the exchange active sync - which works for his work - there is no hotmail. Except somehow it must sync somehow as it's sending his hotmail fine...
My girlfriends 10 year old loves my new Desire and I'm happy for her to play games and generally mess around on it, but there are things i don't want her to see in my messages and e-mails. No matter how many times I tell her to stay out it seems she just can't help herself. Is there any way (or what is the best way) to lock the messages so that she can't see the things I don't want her to?

I have just noticed that I an now looking emails when I read them in the mail app (not gmail but the HTC mail). I have my mail set up to the pop on my googlemail account. I can go into mail and see my new mail, but if I then refresh all the mail will disappear. I upgrade to Froyo last night and prior to that all was well. I have not changed any settings on mail or my googlemail account.

When i set it up initially the outgoing server was an ntl one which was suprising as i've always had to use o2 on other phones but it worked a treat on my ntl. but now its only sending mails if i am on home wifi connection not on the 02 network.

It takes all the emails from my home account as well as showing emails from my new gmail address. However, when it takes emails from my home account it doesn't leave a copy in that account. I like gmail dragging in emails from my home account but I also like having the emails in my home account too. I have tried to find the answer on both gmail and my home account settings but can't get to the bottom of it. Does anyone know how to drag emails into my gmail account but keep a copy in the original account?

A friend of mine had his gmail account compromised by those friendly Nigerians who claimed he'd been mugged needed money etc. Fortunately no one fell for it.HOWEVER the friendly Nigerians, having used his gmail to get into his facebook changed his password to both gmail and facebook, then deleted ALL his contacts, and all his email sent and received etc. One assumes that this is to ensure he couldn't send out an 'urk! ignore ignore' email.my life is excessively dependent on my emails and online contacts... he was extremely peeved - I'd have been devastated. And it got me thinking.If it happened to me, with my phone synced - would all my phone contacts suddenly disappear - or once I'd synced once with gmail, should I stop it syncing unless I do it manually?Is there a way to back up gmail emails offline?
