Just searched all around but can not find any thread related to this problem.I don't have any other SMS app installed on my Desire (like handcent), but when message is received I get to hear the same sound two times and two mail icons pop-ups in the upper left corner, There is an non rooted unbranded Desire, with Froyo. Couple of days ago reseted to factory default. Everything was done well except this thing.

I am using following code to send sms message:
SmsManager sms = SmsManager.getDefault(); sms.sendTextMessage(phoneNo, null, message, null, null);
But when this code is executed two sms messages are sent. Does anybody have idea what can be a problem?

Every time I get a text message, my phone alerts me twice. I do have handcent, and I did disable the notifications on the stock text messaging app and it still did this. Then, I uninstalled handcent from my phone thinking maybe I can reinstall it and it would stop notifying me twice; which didn't work. So now I just have the stock messaging app and it's still notifying me twice every time I get a single text message. Any thoughts? It's driving me insane.
View 4 Replies View RelatedSo I recently rooted my phone to 2.1. Great btw! but that is not the point. When I get a text message, I get a series of notifications. I get one from the stock phone's stock txt msg app, and one from the phone, which link to the stock app. Plus, if i download handsent, thats 3 notifications per text! So I take the stock txt msg app notifications off and everything so that one does not notify me anymore. But I still get a notification from my phone, not the stock txt app. I dont even know what app or program is notifying me of a text!!. The icon on the notification bar is a postcard (similar to the stock txt app). When I pull down the notification bar menu, the icon is an opened envelope. When I click it to check, it directs me to the stick txt app. It is weird and annoying. I just want my handsent app to notify me. How can I go about doing that? Any help would be great. There was some talk about this, but no resolution. Anyone else have this problem?
View 1 Replies View RelatedBefore I had the problem where both Handcent and my stock SMS would both tell me I have a new text message. I fixed This. I had to redown handcent. Now When I get a message it shows up twice in Handcent. It always tells me I have 2 messages. It is the same message.

Previously, I had "turned off" the notification sounds from the stock HTC messaging app, but now I cannot remember where I did that. I have gone to settings, but I cannot find how to turn it off for the life of me. Now I get double notifications, and I only want Handcent notifications.

Buzz again and Droid! Again. So I think I got two texts when I have one. I don't have handecent or anything. View 11 Replies View RelatedI've been having a problem with my desire home screen (in particular the sms icon) and I'm wondering if anyone else knows how to fix it.
Recently my messages icon has been showing the little "1" in a green circle indicating I have an unread message. Problem is, I've gone through every list of messages I have on the device and there are no messages I haven't read and the "1" stays there. The only ways I've found to get rid of it are to either delete the icon and then put it back or to use Advance Task Killer and kill messages application. I'm not using any fancy apps for messages, just the default one.
My email counter is always perfect, this only seems to affect my sms. Also, my girlfriend told me she sent me a message a few days ago, but I never received it. Not sure if that's a happy coincidence, or if the phone got the message, is telling me I haven't read it, but isn't displaying it for me to see. All the other messages from her are plainly visible.
I do not know how but for some reason the phone numbers in my contacts (People) list are now displayed in US format instead of UK i.e. 123-456-78910 instead of 12345678910. When sending an SMS and i load up the contacts list BOTH the US and UK formats are displayed. I have tried deleting all my contacts and reimporting them from a back up on the SD card but no change. I have also tried to change the view settings of the list in case its my google contacts showing but it shows 0 contacts for google but 149 for the phone, i only have half that. I have used HTC Sync Google sync recently, could these be the problem? If so how do i fix it?

Now i really do need a fix to this, cos it is gonna cost me a packet if i have to get everyone double gifts and cards.....

When I send text messages to individual it sends them as plain SMS, this works with my free allocation of texts.When I send text messages to a group (a list of 7 individuals) it sends them as 7 "Picture Messages" - this costs me money!. The message has no pictures and is short?How can I force the phone to not send picture messages?

Since I've installed 2.2 the message app on the desire jumps to the top of a message thread randomly while I'm writing a message meaning I have to scroll to the bottom again. This can be very annoying in thread which I have lots of messages. Any ideas on how to fix this?
Recently noticed message with pictures attached are not being sent. Icon shown is envelope with a "!".

View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to do this to a group with more than 6 people, it converts the message to a mms and wants to use there email and wont add any more than 10 contacts.This way is messed up, I have made several groups of 7 different sets of contacts, They all change to MMS Message when selecting any of those groups.I can send a group message by doing the below actions without any problem for some reason though, Which TBH is just more hasse.

View 1 Replies View Relatedhi quys recently installed handcent sms app, prefer it to the stock app. just when i recieve a new message both the stock sms & handcent sms app log the recieved text. i have tried to see if you can remove the stock app from manage apps but dont have the option. am i overlooking something? as its annoying having two alerts all the time! cheers for reading & hope i am making sense!!

I have updated to 2.2 and all seemed to be working fine but today I keep getting error messages saying Low on space - the phones storage is getting low and Not enough storage space for sms.Don't know why this is as I only have about 10 apps installed and have moved the ones I can to the SD card.Is anyone else having this problem?any ideas people?
