I've been looking for an option to reduce the size of the text in messages so that I can see more of a conversation. I cant seem to find an option in the settings though, is there something simple and obvious that I'm missing?

I had my Desire for for a couple of months & love it but the mrs has just got a Wildfire & i have noticed when i text a message the TO box and the TAP TO COMPOSE boxes are about the same size with a big black box in between them that you cannot drag to alter size when the phone is held upright but on the Wildfire the TAP TO COMPOSE box is the is massive with a send & a attach button on the side when held upright. How do you alter this on the desire? When both phones are turned on the side the TAP TO COMPOSE box is big on both. Also the Wildfire has a torch app which uses the LED on the camera which is not on the Desire but the screen is so dull compared to my phone.

Can anyone please tell me where exactly the text is been written in Message View? On clicking this items it should launch appropriate event. If anyone touches a telephone number it should launch the dialer or if it is a valid email address then it should launch the Compose message event and so on.
Another question is whether to display message is Android uses the WebView?
How i can display custom error message before foreclose or Application not responding message will happen for an application.
Or
Can i display Custom message like "Please wait....." instead of Application not responding message.
First post so be gentle fellow desire owners Awesome phone! I am sooo happy words can not describe. My daughter however ( who actually had a little mishap when she played with it (joke)) isn't so lucky. She got one today and, although calls and text are working fine, she keeps getting a message " .com HTC not working". She's asked my advise as the " wonderful wizard of dad" and I 've got nothing! My last phone was a D900 so you can appreciate how totally lost I am when hers does that and mine works flawlessly. I'm just asking if more knowledgeable people here know how I can advise her. I am totally new to android (but learning quickly). So is my daughter but she's dangerously computer and phone savvy! No clever replays please. SHE WILL BRICK THE PHONE!! View 2 Replies View RelatedI've been having a problem with my desire home screen (in particular the sms icon) and I'm wondering if anyone else knows how to fix it.
Recently my messages icon has been showing the little "1" in a green circle indicating I have an unread message. Problem is, I've gone through every list of messages I have on the device and there are no messages I haven't read and the "1" stays there. The only ways I've found to get rid of it are to either delete the icon and then put it back or to use Advance Task Killer and kill messages application. I'm not using any fancy apps for messages, just the default one.
My email counter is always perfect, this only seems to affect my sms. Also, my girlfriend told me she sent me a message a few days ago, but I never received it. Not sure if that's a happy coincidence, or if the phone got the message, is telling me I haven't read it, but isn't displaying it for me to see. All the other messages from her are plainly visible.
I'm trying to get the real size of an image displayed in an image view. Actually my image is larger than the screen and the imageview is resizing the image to diplay it. I'm looking for this new size.I've tried to override the onDraw method of the ImageView in a custom view but I'm not getting the correct height and width.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI like using K9 Mail, but I was wondering if there was a way to change the size of the messages listed in the in box or any IMAP folder. 10-and-a-half messages (with the subject on one line and sender on another) are displayed on my Moment's screen. While I like seeing all of these messages, it is not very finger-friendly. It is difficult to tap precisely on a given message. Is there any way to increase the size of the message list? Something like the default Gmail or Android e-mail app would be great. I have dug through the preferences of K9, but so far haven't found anything other than being able to change the theme of the app.

When I used BufferedInputStream and I specify a buffer size, Dalvik gives me this warning - Default buffer size used in BufferedInputStream constructor. It would be better to be explicit if an 8k buffer is required.
But right now, my buffer size is already at 8k. What am I doing wrong?
When I send text messages to individual it sends them as plain SMS, this works with my free allocation of texts.When I send text messages to a group (a list of 7 individuals) it sends them as 7 "Picture Messages" - this costs me money!. I looked for any information about onTap event processing for itemized overlays in this group. There is a lot of useful information but I could not find the answer to one question.

describes how to generate a Toast message whenever an onTap event occurs. In his case, the custom itemized overlay activity is included in the main activity. In my case, it is not. My custom itemized overlay activity is included in the application package as a public activity.
This means that the line Toast.makeText(NooYawk.this, items.get(i).getSnippet(), Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show(); will not work "as is".
I have had trouble in correctly identifying the context for the Toast. Attempts to use the main class' (the one calling the custom itemized overlay class) context have not worked. I would appreciate it if anyone could suggest how I could resolve this issue. Incorporating the custom itemized overlay class in the main class is not a desirable option.
Alternatively, I would appreciate any suggestions for generating a display of the title and/or snippet information for markers on a map.
The onTap event works fine (Log.i statements in the onTap method display the correct information for each marker tapped)
