View 3 RepliesIf you compare a Tattoo (2.8" 240x320) with a Hero (3.2" 320x480) and a Desire/Evo 4G (3.7"/4.3" 480x800), on all of these Sense UI devies you will see a 4x4 icon grid. Looking at screenshots I can see they could definitely fit 6x4 (6 being vertically) in, if not, at least a 5x4 icon grid. 4x4 on a 4.3" screen makes the icons too spread apart! Why haven't HTC made their home screens with 6x4 icon grids? Also, a 320x480 can fit nicely on a 3.2" screen, and if you multiply 320 by 1.5 and 480 by 1.5 you get the 480x800 resolution that is on the Desire on a screen 0.5" larger. So if you go 0.5" larger than that (or 0.6" larger tbe) and multiply 480 by 1.5 and 800 by 1.5, you could easily get a 4.3" screen that nicely produces 720x1200. Why haven't they used this resolution?

Is there any news on an upcoming android phone with a higher res display? by higher i mean greater then 800x480. I am currently an iphone 4 user, but i really need a physical keyboard. Only thing is im used to the 960x640 display.
View 5 Replies View RelatedThe EVO looks like a sweet phone, and if they ever bring it to Verizon with some LTE love, I'll probably buy one, but does anyone wish that they increased the resolution of the screen just a little to take advantage of that big 4.3" display? Maybe the next gen will. All in all, it looks like a great device, but I don't think it's going to save Sprint from still loosing customers.

Is there a way to change the Display output resolution in Android?
I'm not talking about the screen density (DPI). I'm talking about the pixels.
The thing is I own an Acer Iconia A700 FullHD tablet but there is lag, especially on 3D games that forces the native screen resolution of 1920x1200.
So forcing the resolution from 1920x1200 down to 1280x800 would theoretically reduce those lags.
So it works with some games that comes with an option to change the resolution, but most games doesn't have an option, they simply run in 1920x1200 and lag really badly.
Is there a way to change the overall resolution down to 1280x800 ?
I know it MIGHT be possible but there could be a problem because the image has to get upscaled to the native display resolution.
And I don't know if the Tegra 3 comes with an hardware scaler. So if the resolution gets changed, it might get upscaled and filtered (or not) OR just centered in a smaller image in the middle of the screen.
But either way.. Is it possible? if yes, how?
For everyone running the leaked updates. I'm seeing smoother results with H.264, it could be my eyes. What's everyone else seeing?

I've travelling soon and plan to bring some anime along to watch. What is the max resolution of videos I can convert to? I saw that the max resolution of the Desire is 480 x 800 but my video conversation software(any video converter) does not provide such an option. I googled and read on somewhere else that its 720 x 480. I am planning for MP4 format as I need to save space since my Desire only came with 2 gig and i want to maximize the amount of videos I can get. Would MP4 be the best choice? or like WMV or 3GP?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a program that should work on Android 1.5, but when it's run on newer devices with higher resolution screens, it should support the full resolution and not emulate a lower resolution screen. As far as I can tell from the documentation, this should be simple.
I just specify

The problem is that if I tell Eclipse to compile for 1.5, it refuses to accept this. It reports an error (targetSdkVersion is an unknown tag) and refuses to compile or run. If I tell it to compile for 1.6 it works fine, of course. But if I then try to install on a 1.5 AVD, the program immediately crashes with a java.lang.VerifyError. I'm clearly missing something simple. How do I get it to compile an apk that works under 1.5, but still includes the targetSdkVersion tag?
How do I convert phone resolution Bootanimation to tablet resolution?
I have 4 boot animations that I want to convert to work on my Nexus 10 full screen.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've been using this phone since June, and the camera quality always is something that I hope can be improved on HTC Desire. Previously, I shared a photo to my friend, and he told me that I use a 4MP camera. I was shocked, because it should be 5MP. He's using a photo viewing software that can display photo details. Anyway, I had a look in the camera's setting, resolution 5MP (2592 X 1552). I curiously multiply two numbers, 2592 X 1552 = 4022784 which is 4MP.

Htc Desire HD screen resolution:
So my question is will the Htc Desire HD have huge icons because of the higher resolution and larger screen?
So I have just bought a Desire and have noticed that it doesn't seem to display the colour white properly.
For example, if you go to the google webpage, the background is kind of almost a very subtle pink, not true white. In fact, the phone seems incapable of displaying bright white. Is this widespread or is it just me?
