HTC Desire :: Applications Blurry - No WVGA Resolution?
Jun 1, 2010On my htc desire, all of the apps are blurry, they are not WVGA resolution as you would expect from a $390 phone!

May 28, 2010Does anyone else get this when they load apps? I notice it in particular when playing games...it seems like the image isn't that sharp at all. Examples: Zenonia demo, Abduction demo, etc...

Apr 15, 2010I could've sworn I saw the solution somewhere on these Desire pages but I've lost them. I'm trying to stop my pictures from becoming blurry after it has synced up with Google. Is there a way to do this or am I all out of luck?

Nov 11, 2010For some reason on the main screen on my new htc desire hd the shortcut images of my contacts seem to be very blurry and hard to make out. Is there a setting to make it more clear, also my contacts list the pics down the side are blurry to. I am sure it was clearer on my other htc I had. Also when I scroll up and down on the main screen the icons seem to very slightly flicker
is this normal?

Aug 21, 2010I've travelling soon and plan to bring some anime along to watch. What is the max resolution of videos I can convert to? I saw that the max resolution of the Desire is 480 x 800 but my video conversation software(any video converter) does not provide such an option. I googled and read on somewhere else that its 720 x 480. I am planning for MP4 format as I need to save space since my Desire only came with 2 gig and i want to maximize the amount of videos I can get. Would MP4 be the best choice? or like WMV or 3GP?

Jun 26, 2010I have a program that should work on Android 1.5, but when it's run on newer devices with higher resolution screens, it should support the full resolution and not emulate a lower resolution screen. As far as I can tell from the documentation, this should be simple.

The problem is that if I tell Eclipse to compile for 1.5, it refuses to accept this. It reports an error (targetSdkVersion is an unknown tag) and refuses to compile or run. If I tell it to compile for 1.6 it works fine, of course. But if I then try to install on a 1.5 AVD, the program immediately crashes with a java.lang.VerifyError. I'm clearly missing something simple. How do I get it to compile an apk that works under 1.5, but still includes the targetSdkVersion tag?

Previously, I shared a photo to my friend, and he told me that I use a 4MP camera. I was shocked, because it should be 5MP. He's using a photo viewing software that can display photo details. Anyway, I had a look in the camera's setting, resolution 5MP (2592 X 1552). I curiously multiply two numbers, 2592 X 1552 = 4022784 which is 4MP.

Jan 7, 2010I wrote a reading software. I implemented the page turning effect when user tap the screen to turn to next/pre page. The display is ok on G1 (320X200 size) but it can not works well on Droid(480*854 size), the font looks a litter fuzzy, not clear as G1. I explain my codes for page turning:
1) create a canvas A
2) create bitmap.
3) set bitmap on canvas A
4) draw the new page content on canvas A
5) the current showing page has been saved in bitmap before since we do from step 1) to setp 4),
6) In order to implement the turning effect of scrolling from left to right, I draw the old bitmap part and draw the new bitmap part until the whole new bitmap has been drawn. all of bitmaps are drawing by canvas.drawBitmap() in onDraw() function.
7) when step 6) is done, it means the new page has been shown on screen, and the bitmap has been saved to use in next page turning.
The above is the whole actions for my page turning. On G1, no problem. But on Droid phone, the font is not clear, I tried if I directly draw text by canvas in OnDraw() not through bitmap, It is ok, but it can not implement the page turning effect that I need. I don't know why, could you please help me to take a look and tell me where is wrong or miss some steps?

Feb 20, 2010This seems like a simple problem to me, but I can't figure it out. I have a fullscreen layout that displays differently if the screen is taller (854 instead of 800 pixels). I've tried putting the xml into layout-notlong-hdpiand layout-long-dpi respectively, but both my WVGA and FWVGA emulators go for the "long" version (as described in the doc).
Is there any way to distinguish between the two besides using the deprecated -800x480/-854x480 qualifiers?
Android :: WVGA Mode The Widget Seem To Be Not Working?
Oct 7, 2009I have been able to scale-up my application in WVGA skins pretty easily for my app.But in WVGA mode the widget seem to be not working as desired.Sometimes the widget just gives the message "No more room in the Home Screen" even though there is space.Some times it takes up the whole screen without considering the size mentioned in the configuration files.And even strangely sometimes it hust gives me the desired behaviour.Are there are any know issues for the WVGA mode as far as widgets are concerned.
