When i put my android tab idle it screen turn off(idle mode) internet disconnects i saw there is no power in the dongle(means no light is glowing from the dongle)

I am new to this forum, I came looking for help with the barnacle app and found a great forum for everything android, I am sure it will come handy.My problem is that my barnacle app disconnects when the phone screen turns off. I stay connected to the barnacle wifi signal but no Internet, in the barnacle app I get connection errors, I just need to stop the service and restart for the problem to be fixed, this only happens when the screen turns off so now I have the screen always on when tethering but that is not good form the battery.I have auto killer installed, I tought that it was the problem, and that auto killer was turning off the service but I uninstalled auto killer and problem persists, I have no other task manager installed.

I've noticed that versions after Skype v4.0 have been having this issue where, when minimized or screen turned off, the app essentially disconnects. I've been doing testing with another account on the pc which I would use to write to my Skype on the phone. Works fine until I leave the app itself. It is still running, I've made 100% sure of that. When writing myself it first shows me as online but quickly updates to "offline" and message is "pending", i.e. not delivered before I open the app again.
How about battery life comparison between the older and newer versions? It's the main reason I wanna use the newer versions because allegedly the battery has been improved alot since 4,7 but sadly, in these versions, I have this problem.

With all the ads in games these days taking you out to the internet to browse and buy things, is there any way to disable internet borwsing from an actual browser while still leaving it open for things like Youtube? I can't uninstall the browser itself I don't think but if there's a way to disable it, or even just to disable downloading files from the internet, I'd be interested in that.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just ordered a Lenovo S2110 Android tablet with keyboard dock. The idea was to use this 20 hour machine on road trips to do work related activities. For my job, I need to connect via VPN to get access to my work's intranet. I can do that fine in Windows on my pc or my work laptop. I was hoping to do this via Android and the Cisco AnyConnect program. Unfortunately my company doesnt have the license for Cisco AnyConnect mobile so I cannot connect directly via android.
Is it at all possible to connect and share the connection via my home pc that is connected via VPN via the internet somehow? Meaning, can I have VPN running at home and if I am away, connect through the internet and get the VPN tunnel to my android so I can connect to the work websites through the Android browser? Or access my shared network drive?
Only other option I see is using Team Viewer of Splash Desktop to connect as a remote session, but that is not preferable .
Is there a setting available that comes on this phone that you can change the amount of time before the screen goes to sleep?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've had this issue happen a few times, so I disregarded it, but a few hours ago it happened 3 times in a row.I'm in the middle of a phone call, and suddenly I hear a beep, and I look at the phone and the call was disconnected (I'm back on the 'Phone' screen). I then realize that the phone becomes unresponsive (the screen doesn't respond, same thing goes for the Home/Menu/Back/Search buttons).The only thing I can do is press the top 'Off/Lock' button to shut off the screen, then press it again, and everything goes back to normal.Is anyone else experiencing this problem? If so, any advice/solutions?My phone is stock, no rooting or roms. I've downloaded a few apps from Android market and that's about it.My 30-day purchase window is up in about a week, so I'd like to get this resolved before then to avoid any headaches.

I got Ubislate 7C+ in last month and since then I am unable to connect any 3G USB dongle to my tablet. I have tested same dongle on other Ubislate 7C+ of my friend (which he got 3 months back) and it worked perfectly but not even detecting the dongle on my tablet.
Alcatel onetouch X230S is the dongle which is working on my friend's Ubislate 7C+ and note mine. Photon 3G is not working on both of the tablets even though it's supported according to list of supported 3g dongles.
Which WiFi dongle will work for Reverse tethering so that my PC internet can be access my by Phone via Wifi dongle.
Any specification that it must have or anything that i must keep in mind when i pic one or should i it better to go for Wifi router ?? I will prefer external wifi dongle. My Android Phone is not Rooted .

I keep getting a message when battery is low and runs of power. When i try to turn on the tabletI get a blue screen that asks to reboot and a series of requests to update in Various ways. When I reboot it comes on and is glitchy. It turns on in safe mode. When I check out the requests I get a Scary green screen with a lot of writing and symbols I don't understand. Also I can't get the information for the nook that on the tablet, it won't open. Very much. not a skilled user of this new technology stuff. Of age to remember as an adult getting my first computer with no Internet

I have sprint for my phone and my tablet has no service. Where this connection needs to happen is in places with little or no service. Tablet is not a must but would be nice to be able to do going forward. So the idea would be someone who show an idea from their Laptop and plug in something of a USB device or could be software based but that is not preferred option. The project then could be sent to HDTV or Projector via possible wireless casting device. Have looked into various devices but hoping for some feedback from someone who has set this type of room up. I have try to install ROM from other tablet but the only want to boot is one from LY-F918 ... with no touchscreen and wrong colors (I post a photo of the boot), after I mod a ROM from Cherry Mobility M906(??) And touchscreen and all other hardware works but not the colors ..
P.s. I have open the tablet and disconnected lcd flat And reconnected ... with no luck !
I have a MK802 Android PC dongle on its way. It has no on/off switch so powers up when it is given juice and is shut down by pulling the cable. This is the same as pulling the battery and is a pretty violent way of doing it.
Is there an app available that does a gentle shutdown and allows Android to clean up before it goes? BTW, apparently the device comes already rooted.
1) I have imito mx1 android TV stick with built in Bluetooth. When I pair it with my PS3 controller via sixaxis app, it does with no problem, but I noticed that the connection is very weak because if I go away from the TV stick more than about 3 meters, the connection will lost.
So my question If I get a Bluetooth dongle USB for better signaling, can I use it for pairing with the PS3 controller in sixaxis app rather than pairing with the built in Bluetooth?
