I would like to know if there is an android app or any other methods or fixes or any ways to be able to make calls like a phone from a 3g unlocked dongle on a tablet pc that supports usb 3g dongles like there is software for pc's such as mobile partner? The 3g dongle already supports call making and sms sending features. I have scoured the net for a solution but to no avail.

When i put my android tab idle it screen turn off(idle mode) internet disconnects i saw there is no power in the dongle(means no light is glowing from the dongle)

I recieved a 7" tablet as a gift, however I don't know what model or make it is ( I don't really know much about android). All it says on the box is Tablet PC so I was wondering if there was a way to find out by using the system. View 1 Replies View RelatedI want to use Spotify on my phone, but a stupid app restriction allows me only to listen randomly chosen songs from an artist or a playlist. This doesn't happen on the tablet version hopefully, so I want to use the tablet version on my S4. I used the Xposed module "App Settings" in order to change the app's dpi to 240 and even to 160, but it doesn't change to tablet mode (although the app became nearly impossible to read because of the dpi). I assume that Spotify doesn't change its form by dpi then, what this app knows it's on a tablet?

I've tried downloading a bunch of diff versions. But nothing wants to work. I got one to work, well, somewhat. It let access it and play around. It wouldn't let me d/l anything. My girlfriend has a Nexus 7 and I have a Hisense Sero 7 Pro. I have one bluetooth receiver in my car and another bluetooth headset. When either tablet is conencted to either bluetooth device, pressing the call button does nothing. I have tried autovoice with tasker with no luck. Is there anyway to get these tablets to recognize when the bluetooth button on the bluetooth devices is pressed? I notice in the menu in settings for each bluetooth device that there is only the option for "use for media audio" and not "use for call audio." If this is the reason is there anyway to modify jelly bean 4.2 to add the use for call audio option?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI use Google Voice (love it) primarily because of it's visual voicemail on my Droid. I do have a Google Voice number, and I'm trying to decide whether to set the Droid app to "make calls using Google Voice" or not.
I have no problem with giving out a different number, and my placed calls seeing the GV number in caller ID.
My question is, does this affect how the call is actually connected, from a quality standpoint? I tired a call both ways, and the sound quality seemed a little bit different. But then, I am an obsessive compulsive weirdo.
Is there any difference in call quality or routing between making a native Verizon call and a Google Voice call on Droid? (Like, does Google voice actual use 3G to connect to Google server over the internetz, then place the phone call?)
The Situation or: what I'm looking for:
1. Nexus 7 with Google Contacts app
2. Non-android phone (Nokia N8 etc.) or really any dumb phone paired to Nexus 7 via bluetooth.
3. Select phone number from Contacts on Nexus 7 -> connected phone dials the number
4. Talk on phone.
As I have a very extensive and nicely organized list of contacts in my "People" app (Google Contacts) on the Nexus 7, I would just like to be able to select a number there and have the bluetooth-connected dumb phone place the call, so I just need to pick up the phone and talk, not dial the number manually on the phone.
Right now, when I select a number in the Contacts app on the Nexus 7, Skype - of all things - starts and wants to dial that number apparently. Instead of Skype, I want the number to be sent to the connected bluetooth phone. Surely that HAS to be possible somehow?
Even though this should only require a simple ATD command to be sent out via bluetooth and it's a functionality that every automobile bluetooth setup can do (dial from the steering wheel etc. -> connected phone places the call), I couldn't find one single, small app that does that.
In the PC world, this is sometimes known as CTI (computer telephony integration), basically you dial a number on your Windows PC (e.g. using on-board "dialer.exe" or using Outlook, and your phone places the call). So now I'm basically looking for a simple, one-way TTI (tablet telephone integration).
I did find Tablet Talk, which looks very nice, but this one needs a client software to be installed on the phone, which therefore has to be Android, so it's unusable for my case. I'm pretty much looking for a universal solution here, i.e. Android tablet to any dumb or smart bluetooth-enabled phone (or even another android for that matter), which, given that bluetooth is a universally specified protocol, shouldn't be much of a problem, in my limited understanding.
From my point of view, to problems or "routines" would have to be solved/written in an app that does this:
1.) Get the Google Contacts app ("People") on the android tablet to send numbers via bluetooth or to our "middleware app" (to be named) instead of sending those numbers to the Skype app (which might just be a quirky configuration on my Nexus 7, but it illustrates the use case).
2.) ATD command to phone via bluetooth, sent from the tablet
Running Android 4.0.4 on Emerson EM543 Tablet. Could not install Google Play so had to install Android Market. Market apparently somehow disables the Android system LockScreen. So, now trying to get lockscreen back on boot (downloadable apps, as far as I can see, don't lock screen at system boot, which is what I want). I got a terminal emulator and was wondering if there was a Linux command line argument I could use to start Droid lockscreen at system startup.
I thought I was getting close with this solution, [URL] ....., but it is for an HTC Amaze 4G, and I can locate the AdroidManifest.xml files in the apk files on my system (using ROM Toolbox Pro Root Browser). But, even if I could figure out how to do it there, that file would be changed in the very next update. I am looking for a something similar, just need to know the xml filename or a command line argument that could be used in a startup script.

I got Ubislate 7C+ in last month and since then I am unable to connect any 3G USB dongle to my tablet. I have tested same dongle on other Ubislate 7C+ of my friend (which he got 3 months back) and it worked perfectly but not even detecting the dongle on my tablet.
Alcatel onetouch X230S is the dongle which is working on my friend's Ubislate 7C+ and note mine. Photon 3G is not working on both of the tablets even though it's supported according to list of supported 3g dongles.
Which WiFi dongle will work for Reverse tethering so that my PC internet can be access my by Phone via Wifi dongle.

I have a MK802 Android PC dongle on its way. It has no on/off switch so powers up when it is given juice and is shut down by pulling the cable. This is the same as pulling the battery and is a pretty violent way of doing it.
Is there an app available that does a gentle shutdown and allows Android to clean up before it goes? BTW, apparently the device comes already rooted.
1) I have imito mx1 android TV stick with built in Bluetooth. When I pair it with my PS3 controller via sixaxis app, it does with no problem, but I noticed that the connection is very weak because if I go away from the TV stick more than about 3 meters, the connection will lost.

Is it possible to make a call from an activity and make sure the activity doesn't keep running while the call is in session? And, once the user is done with the call (by pressing the hangup button or whatever), the call log screen wouldn't get shown and the user would be directed to a new activity within the application. I know there's ways to detect calls and call hangups through services, but, I'm not sure if it's possible to make an activity from an app pop up as soon as a call is over.

I'm not sure if they're full apps or just simply icons to download apps or get more information. I have tried to avoid using them. I know previously I had a couple apps that were sending notifications to the notification system that I considered to be spam. After some research I found out how you can find out which apps are doing it and disable notifications from those apps so that took care of that.

My reasons for wanting to do this are that in general Internet access is expensive here in SA and I am on a contract phone with no data but I do have a top up option, which gives me 100MB/month for an equivalent of 6.50/month! But I also have a USB dongle on PAY which I use for normal internet access on my computer, this costs me about 30.00 for 2GB of data, it would be quite handy if I could use the USB dongle for my phone whilst I am at home.
