I've noticed that versions after Skype v4.0 have been having this issue where, when minimized or screen turned off, the app essentially disconnects. I've been doing testing with another account on the pc which I would use to write to my Skype on the phone. Works fine until I leave the app itself. It is still running, I've made 100% sure of that. When writing myself it first shows me as online but quickly updates to "offline" and message is "pending", i.e. not delivered before I open the app again.
How about battery life comparison between the older and newer versions? It's the main reason I wanna use the newer versions because allegedly the battery has been improved alot since 4,7 but sadly, in these versions, I have this problem.
When i put my android tab idle it screen turn off(idle mode) internet disconnects i saw there is no power in the dongle(means no light is glowing from the dongle)

I am new to this forum, I came looking for help with the barnacle app and found a great forum for everything android, I am sure it will come handy.My problem is that my barnacle app disconnects when the phone screen turns off. I stay connected to the barnacle wifi signal but no Internet, in the barnacle app I get connection errors, I just need to stop the service and restart for the problem to be fixed, this only happens when the screen turns off so now I have the screen always on when tethering but that is not good form the battery.I have auto killer installed, I tought that it was the problem, and that auto killer was turning off the service but I uninstalled auto killer and problem persists, I have no other task manager installed.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had this issue happen a few times, so I disregarded it, but a few hours ago it happened 3 times in a row.I'm in the middle of a phone call, and suddenly I hear a beep, and I look at the phone and the call was disconnected (I'm back on the 'Phone' screen). I then realize that the phone becomes unresponsive (the screen doesn't respond, same thing goes for the Home/Menu/Back/Search buttons).The only thing I can do is press the top 'Off/Lock' button to shut off the screen, then press it again, and everything goes back to normal.Is anyone else experiencing this problem? If so, any advice/solutions?My phone is stock, no rooting or roms. I've downloaded a few apps from Android market and that's about it.My 30-day purchase window is up in about a week, so I'd like to get this resolved before then to avoid any headaches.

ASUS CUSTOMIZED SETTING, 'DISCONNECT NETWORK DURING SLEEP' is unchecked. 'POWER SAVER, LOW BATTERY SAVER SETTINGS, 'WIFI OFF, during low battery, is unchecked. SYSTEM PERFORMANCE is set to Balanced Mode.

Rooted, installed cwm, flashed new room.
After dialing a number the call stays only a few second and then disconects. It says out of service area. Than when i try dialing again it says mobile network not available.Cant find the stock firmware anywhere, even on sammobile firmware list.
I flashed 3 different rooms and the same problem with calls.Where can i find the stock firmware for S7562GSMH
I tried PMP_Ultra_ROMv1, PMP_Light_ROMv7 and KOR-Release-340.

Over the past few weeks, I've had issues where the screen will dim as it approaches the display timeout, but never turn off completely. This is intermittent, and I have yet to notice a consistent pattern. I've been searching to try to find a cause but with no luck so far. I am familiar with using BetterBatteryStats and thelike to track down issues with wakelocks and not going to sleep, but i don't know what to use/look for in this instance (ie how to identify apps that might block the screen from shutting down).
View 1 Replies View RelatedIve had a rooted Alcatel One Touch Fierce for about a month. Just recently a Tmobile update downloaded and i installed it. My phone rebooted and ever since then my screen turns off or goes black everytime i turn the screen on. For example when i press the lock button to wake my phone it will display for at least a second then go black but the touch is still functional so id have to navigate by guessing where everything is then pop the screen on for a second to see where i am. The only exception is when i bring up my keyboard or edit settings like when a slider pops up for brightness. I can see the android startup screen until its fully rebooted and i can see the recovery mode. Ive reformatted my data and cache. It is also not the timeout setting. I cant find anything about this issue anywhere.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a samsung device which doesn't have an LED light. I've been using the app Glance, but it doesn't, no matter what, turn on the screen for email, google voice, facebook and sms.
It does work for whats app, which is great, but that's it.
Any app that would work in all these cases... turning on the display when this occurs? I don't know if it's because I'm using screen lock that this is occurring?
My galaxy s2 was working fine yesterday. Today it tried to turn it on and it went to the welcome screen but go no further.
After clicking a few buttons it now doesn't even go onto the loading screen and I cannot turn it on at all.
I don't believe the battery to be at fault because it was on charge all night.
I have tried a soft and hard reset but the phone doesn't respond to either.
I have recently installed cyanogen on my desire and have found the mod to be an absolute joy to use. The one irritation however has been the automatic screen dimming. Every 6 or 7 seconds or so the screen dims itself. This can become very annoying when reading long messages or any other text. Surely there must be a simple solution to turn off this automatic dimming setting?

When I have WiFi enabled and for some reason my Wifi disconnects (for example I go out of reach), my phone keeps asking me, each and every time, if it's allowed to use Mobile Data. if I don't answer, my mobile data does not connect thus I can't recieve any mails etc which is highly annoying.
This is the exact error/popup message that I get:
Data connection change. WLAN is unavailable, try to connect to mobile network?
I've googled this exact phrase, but I get 0 results. How can I prevent my phone from asking if it's allowed to use mobile data?
Anytime i am done using my phone it stays on unless i black it out by hitting the power button. shouldn't it do this automatically? If i get a text in the middle of the night it stays lit up killing my battery, how do i stop this?

I dropped my phone and the screen won't turn on and doesn't respond to touch.The insurance company is picking it up tomorrow (*hence the urgency) and would like to get some stuff off it. Most stuff is on my exsd, so I'm not too worried if I have to wipe it, but would prefer only to wipe it once everything is off. I'm rooted and have a custom stock based rom and cwm installed.
Is there any way of doing this? I have the lock pattern enabled so when I plug it in nothing shows up.
If not, then how would I wipe it?
I bought a bricked Bruneau tablet and wanted to stock flash it. But the "script" named folder that i put it on the sdcard was for other kind of wonder media processor. I have a WM8505+ procesor and the software was for WM8605. Now the tablet does not turn on, black screen, no sound nothing. I saw on other forums and youtube that i can shortcircuit 2 pins from a Samsung chip on tablet motherboard but it`s not working.

Now I have Pristine JB Slim custom ROM, i have installed it 1-2 months ago (cant remember exactly), and everything was okay for first half period, but then it started to crush after mobile data/wifi was turned on.
When I turn on MD/WIFi, its usually okay till 76% of battery, but then screen starts to blink for few seconds and turns off immediately after. When I turn it on again, it turns off again after 1-2 minutes, and sometimes even warns me that i have to charge it cause battery has only few % left (most of time just 1). And I have to charge it again to work normally (well, until it starts to go crazy again )
Before i start to install other roms again. So. Is it faulty battery, bad ROM or something else?
When i turn on mobile network, my phone start locking screen many time, until I turn off the mobile connection.

My HTC Evo Bluetooth has worked fine in my car for 6 weeks, but this week it started disconnecting 1-2 minutes after automatically connecting when I start my car. Nothing seems to work to reconnect until I start the car again.
View 5 Replies View RelatedIn NYC/Brooklyn my Sprint EVO 3g disconnects when streaming internet radio, like clock work seems to be almost exactly every 5 minutes it disconnects. , Tried 3 different apps, xiialive pay version, Stream Furious free, Ant Player free. Problem persist when streaming any station at various bit rates. Happens when stationary or walking around. Occasionally it will rebuffer and restart the stream which is ok but that is rarely the case. However I can immediately hit the play button it will always reconnect and continue playing. In other words the connection always seems to be there and strong. Seems more like something is bumping it off rather than losing signal. I tried with background data and auto sync off. This rarely happened with my G1 T-mobil especially not when stationary, if the signal was there which wasnt often it would play until i disconnected it myself. The sprint EVO 3g connection seems to almost always be available, much better than the T-mobil was in NYC. however the Sprint data disconnects while streaming audio is driving me crazy. Is there any settings that maybe trying to search for signal and update that maybe responsible for the interruption. BTW this has been since EVO day 1 june 6, internet radio is one of my main reason for smart phone and unlimited data so it was the first or close to the first app i installed. no problem while on WIFI.
