Last night I was loading some stuff on my phone and the USB was acting up and now today when I plug it in it acts like I am plugging in to power. I installed usb switcher from the market and it tells me that I need to hook up to usb first. I reset the phone and it did not help, I have tried to to change the settings from mas storage to pc studio and turned on debugging.

Nov 23, 2010When I try to connect my Galaxy to the computer either through Kies or by just plugging it in the computer does not recognize my device. The following message comes up on my phone regardless of which connection method I choose. "PC connection available only on idle screen. Close running applications". The only thing I have running that I know of is the "weather widget" which is part of beautiful widgets. Can I get a list of applications running on my phone somehow? Is there a way to turn the weather widget off? I am assumming that that is the problem. Anyone else out there have similar difficulties hooking up to Kiev or just your PC with the same kind of message?

Aug 18, 2010Today I decided to install the tweaked V3 W/Take 5. Started to update rom and couldn't get phone to connect. It would say debugging was working but nothing in ADB > Devices. Long story short A few hours of fiddling Took out SD card and it started working. Formatted the card Flashed rom. Worked a few times and now nothing. Every now and then when i reboot the phone it will work. It only works for 20 minutes or so and then stops. I get the USB Connected Prompt and when I press it (waiting for the Mount window) It goes back to nothing.ectly.

Sep 23, 2010So before the update yesterday, I loved my Captivate. GPS worked great as did the rest of the phone. I figured since getting the update message, I would go for it. During the update the service was pretty bad in the office so I canceled the download to continue it when I got home. When I went to continue, it automatically rebooted my phone and applied the partially downloaded FW and completely bricked the phone.
Since last night, I have exchanged my Captivate twice. Each time the phones have major issues. Forget about locking onto satellites, it can't even get any in view in the middle of the street. On my current phone, forget not being able to connect to AT&T servers for the update, I can't even connect to Android Market...
I spoke with AT&T and the CS Rep made a special note on my account that told the store to not let me leave until I have a phone that has functional GPS, updates and fixes whatever issues I have. Additionally I was offered a credit to my account for the inconvenience. Add to that the CS Rep made a note to call me on my 30th day to make sure everything is working and if not, we will see where we go from there (cancel, extend the return period...).
Now I'm not sure what to do. I will try one more exchange but if that doesn't work, I'm considering going back to my dumbphone for now... I doubt I will get an iPhone4 and after 4 Captivates, don't think I will keep exchanging.
Sorry to vent my frustrations but this has been an aggravating couple days - even more so that my bricked phone worked great in all aspects.

Oct 10, 2013I have a samsung galaxy young s6312, stock android 4.1.2 jellybean, non rooted. I am unable to connect it with kies, however hard I try. Kies shows the dialog box "reconnect the phone in samsung kies (pc studio) mode. Current connection mode not supported by kies" Usb debugging is disabled. I tried rebooting my phone. I also tried rebooting my pc. I tried reinstalling kies, but nothing worked. I have never been able to connect it with kies.

All was working fine last year and had installed all my apps etc but recently tried to connect to the Market/Play Store to install other apps and it hung for a while then gave me the error:

Aug 9, 2010I'm new to all this wifi stuff. I have no problems connecting my Desire to my wifi at home, which is great. But at work (or at least in the vicinity of my office) there is an open wifi point. I have now tried on several occasions to connect to it, but it always fails. It gets as far as trying to get the IP address then nothing happens until the connection fails. Then it starts trying to connect again, but it gets stuck every time on getting the IP address.This would not concern me if it weren't for the fact that other work colleagues (one of whom also has a Desire) have managed to connect without a problem. I've moved over to where those people work, in case it was a pure location thing, but still no success.Is there something obvious that I've missed on this? Or anything that I could try? Obviously I'd like not to have to use my data allowance while at work if at all possible.

Jun 29, 2010I've been trying to get streaming media working on my desire and it doesn't work. I know vodafone are blocking RTSP at the moment but i'm concentrating on wifi at the moment. I know the streams are live (using m.tvcatchup.com) as I can open the link in VLC but whenever I load it on mobile i get 'unable to connect to server'. i've reset the firmware (unbranded) several times and it makes no difference. packet captures show the desire tries to setup the stream but never receives any RTP data. is anyone having the same problems - i've asked HTC support but they seem to think everything means the phone is faulty and want to swap it at every given chance. I'm wondering if in this case it actually might be?

Oct 9, 2010I recently received a replacement EVO to replace one that got wet through the Best Buy insurance program thingy. Anyway it is a brand new EVO but it will not connect to 4G. My wife has an EVO as well and sitting side by side hers connects and mine will not. If you go to Wireless and Networks settings the setting titled 4G is grayed out and says turning on underneath but it never changes. You cannot tick the check box.The next setting is titled 4G settings and when you click it ALL the options are grayed out and none of the check boxes ca be ticked.Like I said I know we have 4G coverage as my wife's phone is getting it fine.Also if you go to About Phone in the settings and look at hardware information it lists 4G MAC address as unavailable. Any ideas or similar problems out there? Could I have turned something on or off that is stopping the 4G radio?
