Just had my deire back from repair ( nightmare ) and i' unable to connect to the internet or get updates. It works ok with wifi, but i'm not always in a wifi area. I have gone into Settings - Wireless & Networks - Mobile network ticked box to connect to internet an all I get is " connection failed due to incorrect APN setting ".

I'm having a problem with my internet connection on my SGS. It used to lock to T-m*bile, I unlocked it lastweek then use L*bara instead cause got free internet service hehe. somehow, everytime i try to use internet service it says unable to connect to internet/ network unavailable. but I tried the simcard with another phone and it was working. some friends suggest me to re-unlock it. but i donno how to re-unlock it.

My machine is using a WiFi connection for internet, and the LAN card is idle. it's not behind a proxy or firewall, but somehow, my emulator's browser isn't loading any page. meaning that the emulator can't connect to the internet.

But i can't connect on any other app. tried it on google goggles, shazam, timescape, Facebook app, Tweetdeck, etc. but i couldn't connect, EVER. View 2 Replies View RelatedMy HTC EVO 4G LTE is having a major problem. When connected to my home modem it will not connect to the internet at all. When I disconnect wifi in the settings the phone will crawl along at Sprint 3G speeds. Laptops, tvs, chromecast and Roku are all working properly from the same modem. I've reset the modem, restarted the phone numerous times, just updated the phone (was happening before and after the update) and still no luck. I've scoured the internet looking for answers but nothing so far.

View 2 Replies View RelatedGot the phone on Monday and have just been getting my head around it but mainly at home and on wifi out and about today and realised it just will not use mobile broadband this is despite it being set (I think) to use mobile internet when no wifi. I tried to search and it seems lots of people have some sort of problem like this. when I'm in wireless settings and networks and push the connect to mobile network button, I just get a 'connection failed due to incorrect APN setting message' though having looked at it it looks right general.t-mobile.uk. nothing I do seems to change this (switching wifi off, walking out of range, leaving it on)
one thing I have also noticed though is I have never seen any g,h, e etc by the signal strenth indicator (which is normally only 1 or 2 bars - i.e. poor). so I assume it's just not finding 3g etc signal, despite the t-mobile website mobile broadband checker saying its been good strength in all the places Ive been today! I've also tried repeated power off and on again and airplane mode, then switching this off. this is really winding me up now as its a great phone but not if you cant use it's mobile internet functions when out and about.
Been using internet brilliantly for about a month on HTC Desire right up to a couple of days ago after an update. Now it refuses to connect to any type of internet, 3G or WiFi.

I know vodafone are blocking RTSP at the moment but i'm concentrating on wifi at the moment. I know the streams are live (using m.tvcatchup.com) as I can open the link in VLC but whenever I load it on mobile i get 'unable to connect to server'. i've reset the firmware (unbranded) several times and it makes no difference. packet captures show the desire tries to setup the stream but never receives any RTP data. is anyone having the same problems - i've asked HTC support but they seem to think everything means the phone is faulty and want to swap it at every given chance. I'm wondering if in this case it actually might be?

I've removed a few apps that I updated this morning, such as juice defender, the rest were just games from what I can see. Is there a way to see when apps were last updated, obviously last resort is a full wipe but don't really want to do that if I can get away with it.

I am particularly interested in using the BBC site - but I can't access any audio, video or iplayer from my phone. Beebplayer worked once, literally, but can now only access radio stations. I have done some reading and understand that:the BBC haven't yet released a proper Android app. the Flash lite that comes with 2.1 may not work with everything, some people have found incompatibility issues with T-mobile. I appreciate that BBC is not the only fruit, but for a user of a multi-media phone, I find it crazy that I can't use their site properly. I don't appear to be able to access any live TV or news streaming elsewhere either. My phone is not a fashion accessory - I bought it because I wanted a phone and reliable and quick access to news (in different forms), without the premium of an iPhone. It's so frustrating, I feel like I've bought the wrong phone, even though I know it's not really the handset itself that's the problem! After all, it is marketed as having Flash and being more than able to cope with multi media on the internet. but apparently not for everyone. Whilst waiting for Android 2.2, the BBC, T-mobile... or whatever else needs updating. what can I do?

I have just received my HTC desire, and setting up my email settings. I have three different email accounts, and set them all up. I set up the incoming server settings all fine, but when I put in the details for the outgoing server settings, and press NEXT button, I get the following each time: 'Cannot connect to the mail server to verify your account information. Your server is not responding.' This happens on all three accounts. I have used the same settings as on my computer which works when sending the emails on my computer. I finish the setting it up, but ofcourse I can receive emails, but can't send any.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI don't seem to be able to get my Desire to connect to my head unit even though both units are paired.It seems to connect momentarily during the scan for the dvice then i get the "bluetooth headset disconnected" message on the phone?Head unit is a Kenwood BT50U (which supposts A2DP & AVRCP supposedly) and the device & headunit have both had the 0000 default code entered into them when pairing. All the phone shows is the device in the list with "paired but not connected" under it.Wifi is off,phone is discoverable. Is it the bluetooth on the phone at fault or the headunit?Any help or ideas would be appreciated!
View 6 Replies View RelatedI found bug in Android 2.1 which needs to be fixed in 2.2 version. Bug is in VPN PPTP android client which is not compiled with MMPE encryption enabled , and because of that it is impossible for HTC Desire and other phones using android 2.x to connect to pptp server because this is not enabled in android pptpd by default and because of that connection fails. There is solution for this requiring that you root your phone first than replace original pptpd and ip-up-vpn files with new compiled, but this is really not solution because we need that all this works for clients "out of box"
I tested VPN server from almost all OS-es and I can connect for any regular Windows PC (Vista, Windows 7 and XP) , from Mac-OS and even Iphone and Windows Mobile but not from my HTC Desire with Android 2.1.
I used to have an HTC Hero and have switched to Desire a few weeks ago.
On my Hero i had different sounds set up for my text messages and my e-mails. For some reason i just can't figure out how to do it on Desire and i really hope that you can have seperate sounds. Any help would be really appreciated. <THE MAIN ISSUE>
The second thing is that to save pictures off the internet i know that you longpress and get the options. However with google images not for some reason you can't do that
The alternatives i've found are to either do the usual longpress options on either the small thumbnail in google search, but that gives a rubbish little pic =/
OR
open the image and then follow link to original page it is from, then save from there.
But both of these are a bit of a faff. So although its not a big issue i'd like to know if there is a way to save from the individual pictures if you know what i mean.
Just another thing i've thought of... because i have an orange branded Desire my music player has a rubbish link to orange music world or something by the play, and skip track buttons...
any way to get rid?
Right basically you can find the UK T mobile internet settings on the T mobile website. On the Speed Test app, the highest speeds I get are 1.8m/bs downloads and around 500kpbs upload. However, those were at off peak times at night etc (probably when nobody is using the net).Generally I get anything from 0.3 m/bs to 0.9 m/bs though. Lately I've been experiencing some inconsistent internet speeds and reconnection attempts so for I've gone back to the default settings. Tbh though I'm not sure if it makes much difference.
