I have a problem with connecting to WiFi on android. I got 2 phones, one with Android 4.2.2 and the other with an older version, but none can't connect. I also tried with an iphone and had no problem.
Also, I tried connecting to other WiFi networks with the same phones, and they connected. So I think there might be a problem with my home network.

since i have got my my metro phone i have had issues connecting to my homes wifi and i havent been able to get it to work it came with an app metropcs easy wifi wich seemed to be the problem so i froze it and i still have problems connecting and staying connected to my wifi
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy HTC EVO 4G LTE is having a major problem. When connected to my home modem it will not connect to the internet at all. When I disconnect wifi in the settings the phone will crawl along at Sprint 3G speeds. Laptops, tvs, chromecast and Roku are all working properly from the same modem. I've reset the modem, restarted the phone numerous times, just updated the phone (was happening before and after the update) and still no luck. I've scoured the internet looking for answers but nothing so far.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI can't keep my wifi connected on my Droidx. Scanning connecting connected then a few seconds later the wifi icon disappears and it repeats the process seemingly forever. I've discovered that if I use the wps push button method to connect it was stay connected until the wifi goes to sleep when I tries to reconnect I get the scanning connecting connected loop. I've tried different settings in my router (wpa/wpa2 just wpa, just wpa2, tkip, aes) I refuse to go below wpa encryption. My current settings WPA2 AES. I'm running a Linksys WRT400N dual-band router latest firmware, 2.4ghz mode set to mixed b,g,n. Oddly enough, during the time it took my to write this it connected itself and it seems stable now (at least until I let it idle). Phone probably knew I was on here complaining about it but any help you can give me to obtain a wifi connection better without having to spend 15mins each time trying to get it to connect would be great.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm new to all this WiFi stuff. I have no problems connecting my Desire to my WiFi at home, which is great. But at work (or at least in the vicinity of my office) there is an open WiFi point. I have now tried on several occasions to connect to it, but it always fails. It gets as far as trying to get the IP address then nothing happens until the connection fails. Then it starts trying to connect again, but it gets stuck every time on getting the IP address.
This would not concern me if it weren't for the fact that other work colleagues (one of whom also has a Desire) have managed to connect without a problem. I've moved over to where those people work, in case it was a pure location thing, but still no success. Obviously I'd like not to have to use my data allowance while at work if at all possible.
I've had my HTC Hero for one week. First day I got it, I walked into a Radio Shack and connected to the open WiFi instantly no problem. I can connect to any secured network (w/ pwd) no problem. However, ever since I put the phone in airplane mode while on a flight, I haven't been able to connect to any open Wifi network. The Hero detects the network and says I'm connected, but I can't get on the internet at all. The phone says it's not in airplane mode but maybe it still is? help please. I'm running android 2.1.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI know wi-fi has been mentioned but no one seems to really know. Is there anyone out there who knows why I cannot connect to my wi-fi at home? I have a mac address filter on my router and I put in the correct mac address of my Eris more than once as well and the security settings. I was able to connect my Nintendo DSi with no problem. So when I set up my wi-fi connection, it says it's not in range but remembered. At my job I was able to connect to the wi-fi with no problem. Could it be something with my router? Just wondering if anyone has any ideas or clues.

I'm new to the forum and to Android. Last week I replaced my Palm Centro with the new AT&T Xperria X10. About a week before the new cell phone arrived, I replaced our old Netgear wireless router with a new Cisco-Linksys E2000 router. All was well, except my daughter's PC (XP Home) and my other daughter's laptop (Vista), could not connect to the router. Got the new X10, and it connected without any problem.
Then - trying to get the other two computers to connect, I changed the 801.b security from WAP2 Personal to WEP Shared (One of them has an old Linksys wireless adapter that won't allow anything but WEP). Then my daughters were both able to connect, but not the Xperia. I have tried everything I can think of - no success. I changed the router security mode to disabled, and I could not connect. I changed the Xperia to Static IP - no connection. I entered the password in both ASCII text and HEX, neither succeeded.
Ever since flashing the 2.1 leaks (V1 and then V2), I have not been able to connect to my university's WPA2-enterprise wireless network. After I enter my login info (the network uses PEAP with MSCHAPv2, so it doesn't need any certificates), the phone connects as expected and gets a valid IP address, verifiable with netcfg. Before any traffic is allowed to pass to the outside world, however, the device connecting has to go to an authentication page in a browser. When I attempt to go to that page, I get an error titled "Data Connectivity Problem" that states "A secure connection could not be established" which only presents an option to acknowledge the error.
Since I can't load that authentication page, the network is entirely unusable. I did not encounter this problem with 1.5, but since I'm running the V2 leak, reverting is not an option.Has anyone else seen this type of behavior? I can't identify if the problem is in the actual link not being established properly (seems unlikely, as the phone is given an IP address, but perhaps the PEAP layer is having some sort of issue?) or if it has to do with the SSL certificates used for the network authentication page (they're signed, but I'm fairly certain that the name if the site they're signed for is not the name that they've given the new auth server).
I am using laptop and connected to wifi network. I have started the android emulator and open the browser to browse. But it is not working. thrown error saying network connection not available. But I am able to browse in my laptop. How I can enable emulator to use wifi network for internet?

All was working fine last year and had installed all my apps etc but recently tried to connect to the Market/Play Store to install other apps and it hung for a while then gave me the error:

I bought phone with android 4.2.2 os and i cant normally connect wifi N. In router installed dd-wrt, access point, G/N speed, wpa2. In phone i press connect button and after some time, web browsing, pages stop reloading, but logo shows i am connected. So after that i need in phone turn off , turn on wifi to have ability browse fot ~5 min again..so frustrating. How i can solve that? i dont think router is problem, because my laptop with wifi working very good.

Kies shows the dialog box "reconnect the phone in samsung kies (pc studio) mode. Current connection mode not supported by kies" Usb debugging is disabled. I tried rebooting my phone. I also tried rebooting my pc. I tried reinstalling kies, but nothing worked. I have never been able to connect it with kies.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have just bought an Android Smart TV Box (to replace my AC Ryan media box which gave up the ghost a few days ago) and it mostly works fine - it is connected to my tv via hdmi and the box is hard wired to my router - so it is the standard connection setup. I have two usb hard drives connected to it. I obviously want to drag and drop media files from my phone (android) or my laptop (Windows7) to the connected hard drives I use ES Explorer app on my phone and Windows explorer but using either version I cannot see the Android box wirelessly - if i do a scan using es explorer it finds the laptop straight away and i can drag and drop but it just will not find the android box at all. However if i go onto the Android box and into the es explorer app and do a scan it picks up the laptop and i can drag and drop a file onto the laptop. So the wireless is sort of working as opposed to not at all. But just seems odd that i cant see it at all - i cant even ping it from the laptop.

I've experienced quite a lot of problems with the WiFi after updating the Andriod. Everytime I try to connect to my home-network i get that it failed to connect.
The phone didn't have any problems with this before the update.
Anyone had the same kind of problem, or anyone that has a smart fix for it?

View 2 Replies View RelatedWe have 4 android phones at our house (2 HTC Wildfires and 2 HTC Arias). All four phones have been working flawlessly with the home wifi. Until today. For no reason at all, none of the phones will connect to the wifi. Nothing has changed. The phones have not been updated, the we haven't touched the router or the modem. Just to double check that the password hadn't been hacked, I fired up my laptop, and it's working great. The phones will "see" the signal, and report that it's excellent, they just won't connect.
I've tried battery pulls, recycling the wifi setting on the phones, resetting the router, changing the security type, double and triple checking passwords, and the only thing that would allow them to connect was to remove all security from my router and make it an open network. They connected to that just fine, but it's not something I'm comfortable leaving.
I've been struggling with wifi on my Droid Pro for a while now. I tried Wifi Fixer, forgetting networks, even resetting to factory. When I try to connect to an open network, it says obtaining up, remembered, connecting, then disabled. When I connect to closed networks, it works for a while thence wifi becomes ed and goes off and on over and over. Sometimes turning my phone off and on again. Most times it doesn't.
View 3 Replies View RelatedInteresting issue. I recently set up a repeater in my house to boost my router signal. I assigned the same ssid and wep key as my router to the repeater. Since it's been connected I can't connect to the internet from my LG Optimus S while wi-fi is on--it says page can't be displayed. I'm definitely connected to my home network. When I disable wi-fi I connect easily with 3g. Did I configure the repeater incorrectly, or is it an issue with the phone settings.
