View 3 Replies View Relatedi setup my Google account to sync my personal data which includes Wifi passwords. So I went to a friends router and entered the password into my smartphone and connected to the Wifi successfully. While in the network I synced my smartphones Google account. Then I enabled Wifi hotspot on my smartphone in order to sync my N7 Google account to receive the newly synced password. But sadly after syncing I couldn't connect to the Wifi because the password was not synced. What did I do wrong?
View 1 Replies View RelatedAt home I turn off my wifi when I go to work and when I turn it back on, my nexus 5 doesn't remember the password. My nexus S was the same. This recommends switching my router to WEP (it's currently WPA-PSK), however I'm not sure I actually CAN change this in my router settings. Shouldn't it just work anyway, or is it a router problem? Should I just stop turning off the router? This feels like it shouldn't be a problem: why can't the phone simply paste the password into the box for this specific router name & ID, rather than me typing it?
View 8 Replies View RelatedMy droid razr asks for my password to my home wifi every time i go out of range and then come back and try to connect again. Using netgear wnr2000 with wpa. If i input my password and press connect, it lets me use wifi just fine. Updated netgear to latest firmware last night and browsed through all settings, but didn't see anything that might make a difference. Still does it today. Even just going out in the yard and back, have to re-enter pass if i got out of range. Doesn't happen with any other devices i use... laptops, other phones. Even reserved the ip that my phone currently had on the netgear for the phone.
View 4 Replies View RelatedOn my previous phone it had a "full lock" feature on it that when a text message or phone call came in it would show all stars on the screen and require my password before you could answer the call or view the text message does the hero have that option or is there an app I can download?
I tried the pattern lock thing it has but if a call comes through or a text message comes through it still allows you to answer and/or view the message without entering the lock pattern..

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm new to android but just used the guides at this forum to root my LG Optimus V. I was wondering if now that I have root there is a way to install a boot password similar to the one I have on my computer. Before it loads the operating system, the BIOS asks for a password. Is there any similar functionality for android?
Also, is this possible on other devices even if it is not on mine? It's one of my favorite laymen security measures.
I'm trying to disable incoming calls on my Hero using phone settings/call settings/call barring/all incoming. I am asked for a 'call barring password' but as far as I know, I have never set one nor does it say in the manual what the default is.I have tried the obvious ones like 1111 and 12345678 but I receive 'network or SIM card error' every time I try to enter a password. The password is 4-8 digits long.I am running Modaco Rom 3.1 on a T-Mobile G2 Touch.

I've found a few articles about this subject on the web, but they seem to be dated...I'd REALLY like the phone to automatically to switch to WIFI calling/receiving, when I hit my home network. But if I have to switch it myself....
So I am having problems tethering via WiFi. I keep getting this error 67 password/username incorrect. Does anybody know how to fix the problem. I tried updating profile and prl. Phone is rooted.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a WiFi network at work and it requires a New password generated from a secure token each time when I try to re-connect. Since Android WiFi setting remembers the password, if it try to re-connect using the saved password (it becomes invalid after disconnected), my secure token become invalid. If I remember to remove the connection each time after I disconnect, I can enter new password when the connection is discovered as a new connection again. The problem is what if I forget. In addition it is inconvenient. Do you know any Android application supports remove a chosen WiFi connection password each time the connection is lost?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have had this same problem happen twice to me on 2 different phones on 2 different Verizon accounts!
The password screen locks and when it asks for the user name and password it states invalid user name / password!
Is this a known problem since when I called and talked to both Verizon and HTC the only thing they could tell me was to do a hard reset and they weren't aware of this problem?
Anyone know of an app that can lock the call log requiring a password/pin/pattern to view the log?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI wrote a widget that can call numbers directly with one click. It works on the emulator, and it used to work on my nexus one when it had Android 2.1. Now I got the update, and the widget stopped working. I am using Intent.ACTION_CALL, and android.permission.CALL_PHONE. If I change to Intent.ACTION_DIAL it works, and the same code works from an activity. It is the combination of an app widget and the call action. I don't see any error. Does anyone know if it is not possible, and if so, how? Are there many cases the emulator is different than the cell phones, concerning the permission aspects?
The numbers are all regular, not 911 or something.
Accroding to GregS's "Announcing OpenCORE 2.0 release" mention, video telephony (a.k.a. 2way) engine is supported by OpenCORE 2.0. but he(?) was not sure that is included at Cupcake version.
So, can I get information about any progress for supporting video telephony service? like, whether video telehpony service is supported at Cupcake or any other version.
And where can I get any document about OpenCORE 2.XXX release?
just announced and released, a new version of Skype that CAN use wifi, something everyone was clamoring for. I have not loaded up yet, but might try later today and see how wifi works. it is getting okay Comments, but not great. Huge 14mb - which for rooted people is okay as we can force it to the SD card as it is not native SD card app though. No video ability. apparently sign-out or logging off is a bit tricky and hidden.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a droid X I just got not very long ago at all and a friend told me how to use the rooted version to play xbox live and things like MW2 online using the tether...so I think I rooted my phone it says it is.
I used androot and it seems to have rooted my phone however it does not ask me permission(yet i literally just downloaded it) now my question is this:
I have downloaded wireless tether for root users version 2.0.1(I am running 2.1 update1) I am not sure if that was the correct version...but I am online so I assume so.
How do I open the NAT settings on the wifi however? that is the whole point of me doing this charade and I cannot figure it out. I try to play MW2 online and it says they are strict.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am a happy Verizon customer that doesn't ante-up the extra $ to make calls on the few trips that send me to Canada. I heard that there might be an app or website that lets u make free calls through ur WiFi connection (at my hotel, for example) when I'm up there on business... Anyone know anything about this? Is there a way to run the WiFi only and not ANY other phone functions>>> (mobile network AND receiving calls or texts)..... so that I wouldn't get charged for incoming calls and messages?
